    Oregon born and bred.

    The Futureheads

TV On the Radio are the best American band to emerge within the last five years. There are some other good ones, I guess, but not very many.

    Inside jokes.

Don't blame me for this forum's turning to near-WDI levels of self-referential inanity. I stopped that shit after Nevermortal ruined it.

    kkk's old as shit

I lost that game so quickly under extenuating circumstances, not the least of which being I'm not very good at chess.

    The Futureheads

Oh, other than some Partridge-esque vocal inflections and a general spazziness not unlike XTC's Drums and Wires, the Futureheads aren't ripping off much. Their songs are a bit more muscular than the older band's.

    Suprising Things

I'm the wrong person for what you want, IDRM. You know that as well as I do.

Jack Chick is an ignorant, racist scumbag. Not a surprise. Not like this epic poem I'm composing, certainly.

    Suprising Things

I've fallen in love with Micah L. Glossinger and have started to compose an epic poem for him, which is intended to span 37 volumes. I write it with a feather-tipped pen every night by the light of a candle.

I'm gonna beat Agent to death with his fretless.

Early Album of the Year Candidates?

I'm a non-metal dude, so take it for what it's worth that I enjoyed Through Silver In Blood, Edwin.

    Your Five Favorite Anything

Five favorite things I love to hear in a song: 1. jangly guitars 2. la la la's 3. handclaps Well, just those three, really.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

See, the Futureheads sound like XTC circa Drums and Wires, but without Andy Partridge's feyness. Not that being fey is bad. Heavens no.

"Hounds of Love" is fucking great, PLAGIARISM!, shut up. British Sea Power...they're passable, but I'd rather just listen to Echo and the Bunnymen, ya know?

I always knew CWM was dumb, but alfdogg's obliviousness comes as a surprise.

When I mentioned WDI, I should've added that back when lots of people posted there with regularity, nearly every thread turned into in-jokes by the end of the first page. Even if I didn't get/find any of it funny, that's fine. It was a small board in which the regulars knew each other fairly well, making it fertile ground for that sort of humor.

    Share your industry secrets

My experience in the food service industry says something that many of you should already know: never be rude to your server until after you've received your food.

    Thanks for moving it, Spoon.

Actually, it was a mistake of mine. Let's not allow the hilarity of my error detract from the message.

Early Album of the Year Candidates?

The announcement was made on April 1st, jeez.

    The Futureheads

I'd say they're the best if they're the only good band.

    The Futureheads

Save the unheard-by-me Delays and Kasabian, I'm secure in the knowledge that the Futureheads are the best. So, I might be seeing these guys when they come back to the States in June. I imagine they are very animated when they play.

    The Futureheads

I should've added the qualifier "that made it to the U.S."

Neil Peart has 98 pieces to his drum kit, it's known.
