THE GOTHS KNOW HOW TO PARTY

I found her mother's livejournal:

Agent of Oblivion, I am listening to Neurosis' Through Silver In Blood (finally!). I'm midway through it; I'm enjoying it a lot more than The Eye of Every Storm. The title track to TSIB is kind of insane.
-
I ignored it upon its release last year, but Sonic Youth's Sonic Nurse is really good. Kim Gordon manages to not be annoying!

No amount of persuasion worked. -
Rolling Stone has been full of shit for years.

Seriously, we should all feel the same way.

I recognize the hilarity in how I started this thread vs. where it's currently going. -

Now I find myself attracted to this one girl I recently met. THAT'S JUST WONDERFUL. -
Oh, he is not. Come on. Anyway, I'm listening to Low's The Great Destroyer right now. Way underrated, this; it's my favorite release of the year so far.

Damaramu, does your rage stem from being unable to last longer than three minutes in bed.

My comment was made under the assumption that Pfork would hate Bright Eyes, but, wouldn't ya know, Lifted got a positive review a few years back. Still, ballsy move on allmusic's behalf. I don't recall another time where they went against the grain on a fairly high profile release.
-
That was a relatively ballsy move by allmusic; even Pitchfork praised the new Bright Eyes.
-
Same here. That's roughly seven hours of music in my previous post; Live-Evil is responsible for two alone.

This cheered me up. -
I'll note that I'd also shorten the Ludacris tracks that remain, as many of them, as good as they are, overstay their welcome.

Every now and then, I put on that Galaxie 500 album, hoping it'll click for me like their first two albums. It never does and likely never will, as, with the exception of two songs ("Fourth of July" and the VU cover "Here She Comes Now"), the formula was beginning to wear thin. At least they broke up before they could flog the corpse any further.
