I was gonna quit posting, but Kotz didn't like what would've been my last post. Now I have to make amends.

My new car is a stick. Other than getting the hang of first gear, it isn't as bad as I feared.
-
"Hash Pipe" rocked. And Edwin was right about "Don't Let Go" and "Simple Pages."

This is why you shouldn't play with scissors.

It was all downhill for collegehumor.com after the video of the monkey peeing in his mouth. -
Say what you will about the last two albums, but I think the few worthwhile songs from each one were released as singles, particularly those from the green album. That the first single from this new one is this bad isn't a good sign. Speaking of which, I used to defend the second s/t Weezer disc, but time hasn't been very kind to it. As for Maladroit, I haven't listened to it since it came out, nor do I have any urge to change that.

So far, I've only used the car for going to and from work, but I ventured the 6.5 miles to my gf's place last night. The trip itself was fine, but her apartment complex rests on this slight hill, the incline for which has speed bumps and a fucking gate with a security guard. I didn't stall out, but man, I really did a number on my clutch.

I figure knowing how to drive a manual makes up for never learning to ride a bike. I'm more of a man for it.
-
I've been driving the car for three days now. Even moderate traffic makes me a little nervous, so I'm holding off on using it as much as possible.
-
Stalling out in morning traffic while trying not to be late for work is fabulously fun. I suggest you all try it.

Re: Gin Blossoms. That album has all the production sheen you'd expect from a band of that ilk, but the songs are strong enough to overcome it.

I first heard of him via his website. A friend of mine from Tampa later confirmed he's often seen clubbing in the gayest of outfits.
-
That dude lives in Tampa and is a regular at the nightclub scene there. I'm not kidding.

Speaking of which, I haven't put on Trout Mask Replica in ages. Time to change that.

Is Bongo Fury along the lines of Zappa and Beefheart's earlier collaboration, "Willie the Pimp." I love Beefheart, am warm to Zappa and I really like that song.

Gonna drink some Smithwicks (pronounced smitticks), which is an ale from the makers of Guinness. It tastes like Bass but way better. And I like Bass. Will likely have some Guinness, too, because Guinness is always great.

The Gin Blossoms' New Miserable Experience might be the most underappreciated commercial success of the 90s. Seriously fucking solid album that the indie kids should enjoy now, seeing how they (Gin Blossoms) only wanted to be Big Star. They even recorded this album in the same studio Big Star did their records, ferchrissakes. It works. I'm not saying it's on par with either #1 Record or Radio City, but it deserves recognition beyond those with a soft spot for 90's alternaradio.

True story: a month or so ago, I was talking to LooseCannon on AIM. He recounted the time you sent him a disturbingly provacative picture of your at-the-time 14-year-old girlfriend. He said he was genuinely concerned that the feds were gonna bust down his door at that moment.

YPV knows the words to quality sarcasm, but not the music. EDIT: This post was made before I learned that loser kid from Massachusetts was rebanned to that role playing wrestling fed. Now I say good show, sir.

Calling someone "fat" is the pinnacle for a Failed Mascot insult.
-
I think I posted ten or so times.
-
Failed Mascot, this wounded bird act wasn't very flattering back when you pulled it at SNKT. Either grow a sack or have yourself banned again.
-
You have absolutely no reading comprehension skills whatsoever. That's wonderful.

All it takes is one, dear.
