I listened to Big Star's Radio City four times today.

Wait, what's wrong with Leonard Cohen.

I totally shaved my head again. And I'm hungry, but the only thing left to eat in this place is cheese sticks. Which are good, I guess.
-
I still do. Quite often.

I registered an account back in December, when I got my iPod. If my ipod is plugged into my comp when I go to the iTunes music store, my name appears, showing I'm logged. So, after some looking around, I find a song (one by Joanna Newsom, for what it's worth). I enter the passcode from the Pepsi cap and click "BUY." Though I was already logged in, I was greeted with a prompt saying that I had to log in again. After doing so, I tried the above again, only to be told that the code I entered was already in use and could not be used again. I suppose if I dicked around for another five or ten minutes, I would've figured out the problem. However, as I said earlier in this thread, the hassle wasn't worth it.

The music industry is the problem; there's nothing wrong with music itself. In fact, music is wonderful.

The "What Are You Reading Right Now" Thread
Giuseppe Zangara replied to 1234-5678's topic in Literature
Jonathan Lethem's The Fortress of Solitude. -
I'll explain if anyone asks, just so no one will think I am being flippant.

Stop trying to be clever. But he's right.

genuisMoment, what are the two words.

The intro to that song, "That's the Way," is good, too. There was a period a couple of years back where I played that twofer on my show every week for about a month.

Crossroads came out three years ago. Also, what about her recent albums? Are you under the impression that songs and videos for "I'm a Slave for You" (forgive me for skipping the Prince-esque spelling) and "Toxic" are for children? And don't tell me her music is being marketed towards young people, because all pop music is marketed towards young people.

The Mars Volta sucks, but man the Pfork review of the new album is just as terrible: Holy shit, this guy is just as bad as Cedric Bixler.
-
Save for "The Briar and the Rose," The Black Rider induces only comas.

Spears uses her sexuality as a selling point, which is something that famous people—be it actors or those in the music industry—have done for decades. Yes, there was a period of time when Spears was trying to pass herself off as something that might resemble a role model for the young people, but that time was years ago. I don't see why anyone other than an uptight grandma would get in a tantrum over some exposed flesh and risque dancing.

Hunter S. Thompson kills himself
Giuseppe Zangara replied to Modern Man's Hustle's topic in No Holds Barred
The film version of F+L took all the chaos of Thompson's prose, but had none of the style to pull it off. All sound and fury etc. etc. etc. -
I'd assfuck tominator89 missionary-style, just so he could see me enjoy it.

If Britney Spears is a slut, then starvenger is a prude.

Maybe someone should start a thread denouncing those bands that license their songs for use in commercials. omg what coporate whores

What would be the point of this? No large scale venue—the sort that would book a major artist that might also lip synch (like Ashlee Simpson)—would stand to benefit from instituting such a policy.
-
Anyone who gets in a moral outrage over lip syncing is naive. The music industry is a shallow creature, concerned with superficiality and moving units; to complain that they don't push "real talent" is moot, because talent doesn't sell.

The other day, I tried redeeming one of those Pepsi bottle caps that allows you one free download from iTunes. Doing so proved to be such a hassle that I gave up before completing the transaction. Ya know, I like spending money on music, but I need something tangible. Paying for mp3s is about the dumbest thing.

Also, the Circle Jerks did a better job with "I Wanna Destroy You" than the Soft Boys, but motherfuck a Circle Jerks, mostly. The Soft Boys were better than your life, not to mention Keith Morris' midget ass.

TV On the Radio's cover of "Mr. Grieves" is superior to the original. Bauhaus's cover "Ziggy Stardust" is inferior to the original. I don't blame anyone for not thinking so of the former, but anyone who disagrees with the latter is batshit fucking loony.
