I just walked two miles, smoking the whole time.

I think I smoked six of them, but they're cloves, so it's like I smoked 18 non-goth cigarettes.

Listen, this is serious. Maybe if I had bloody feces, you people would care.

This is wrong. Duran Duran have, at best, a couple of good singles. Everything else they've done is tolerable to outright awful.

EMO music: love it, hate it?

It does have the loud guitars and heart-on-sleeve lyrics that a lot of today's emo bands employ. However, Pinkerton—excepting the overly maudlin "Butterfly"—never gets too sappy, preferring to flirt with perversion ("Across the Sea"). I still like the album, but I never listen to it anymore. The first one was the best and will never be surpassed by the band.

Recommend each other some Pink Floyd.

"Wish You Were Here" would be so much better if it didn't have that synth line.

    Chris Coey

Chris Coey is pretty funny in that bloody stool thread.

    GUESS WHO"S GONNA DO IT.....

Other than the "I'm gonna knock her up really really hard" line, I never cared much for the O.J. Hart thread. rawmvp's adventures with the russian were better for the most part.

Hipsters know very little about music history, so don't worry.

Pinkerton? how about Fugazi. Ian Mackaye was in Embrace, but Fugazi were never emo.

Modern emo—the crappy, pussy shit being discussed in this thread—started with Pinkerton, though.

Here I was paying tribute to Bill McNeal. I'm really glad Kotz dropped the "fo sheez" shit.

INCANDENZA AND AGENT OF OBLIVION MEET

We hung out for about four or five hours, hitting up a couple of places around town, smoked out twice (within two minutes of being in my apartment, he was pulling out a bag and a pipe), etc. Pictures forthcoming.

I only listened to about a minute of that track, mainly due to the audience noise being greater than the band noise. Are the rest of the tracks like that?

Oh god why can't I find Stella Artois in this town

Like just about any beer, I can't drink Boddington's out of a can. Too bad, because the only place here in town that I know serves it on tap is a largely insufferable yuppie bar.

The steel drums on the Talking Heads cover is so, so lame.

Your "band to watch in 2005"

I'll give it another shot, but I'm in no hurry.

I'm in the minority on liking Before and After Science the most, I guess; Another Green World is the most lauded, but it leaves me a little cold (though I still like it).

Oh god why can't I find Stella Artois in this town

It's available. It's just I can't find it anywhere in my town, in spite of having a couple of bars with an extensive beer selection.

Oh god why can't I find Stella Artois in this town

You can order a 12-pack of Stella from the company itself, but it's $39. Granted, that covers tax, shipping, gift wrapping and some sort of special message, but do I really need the last two? And do those things really need to drive the price so high?

Oh god why can't I find Stella Artois in this town

I've seen Alexander Keiths in Orlando, which is two hours south of here (same place where I had Stella the other day), but I've never had it.

Oh god why can't I find Stella Artois in this town

Canadian beer doesn't like going this far south, I guess. I've never seen any other than the ones I've already mentioned.

Oh, I forgot La Fin du Monde and their ilk. Good stuff.
