I HATE MY SISTER/SHE IS SUCH A BITCH

And re: Talk Talk, I like both of their "Serious Art" albums, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, but neither are particularly mindblowing. In fact, they just sound like what Peter Gabriel would if he didn't care about pop music at all.

I upgraded my copy of Brian Eno's Another Green World to the fancy remaster released earlier this year. The sound quality has definitely improved.

I got the Rushmore one when it came out. Same with The Royal Tenenbaums. I guess they'll do The Life Aquatic, too, which will be cool. However, I'm hoping Criterion finally gets around to shining up Bottle Rocket. On the subject of Criterion, it'd be nice if they did some Kubrick films some day.

wtf, dude. Kim looks ancient—she could pass for Thurston's mother.
-
I got the Criterion Collection edition of The Tin Drum as a birthday gift. Did you see that in the other thread.
-
Now, guys.

I didn't get a cake. I got this, though:

That's fine with me.

One of my roommates went out of town today; I happened by the open door to his bedroom and saw he left his Zoloft sitting on his desk. Would this get me good and buzzed?
-
I never saw Gummo. I bet it's shit, though.

What's glamourous about Las Vegas? I thought that place was considered trashy. I've never been, of course. I'm only going by popular opinion.

You caught my post before I took out the italics. It was a weird emphasis.

He fucked Julianna Hatfield; back in the early 90s, she was every indie nerd's dream woman. Then she started sharing crack pipes with Dando. Poor girl wasn't the same after that.

Happy birthday, KingofOldSchool.

He's arriving on his birthday; I hope he's not expecting a gift. -
I'm going to Chicago in March. If you move your wedding to there when I'm there, I'll consider going.

I'm familiar with the Lemonheads. Back when I was in high school and getting into "indie" music, I hated them simply for Evan Dando's pompous assholery in interviews. I hated the Smiths for the longest time, too, for Morrissey's schtick. I know better, now.

This is like the second thread. If you're ever driving through Florida, you're more than welcome.
-
I listened to Baby I'm Bored once. It was okay. Check out Big Star, though. I think you might like them.
-
"The Ballad of El Goodo" was written by Alex Chilton and performed by Big Star on their 1972 debut, #1 Record.

One day, you'll realize it's okay to like bands played on classic rock radio. I mean, if you wanna continue the whole lumping-together-two-bands-who-have-no-business-being-lumped-together thing, I'd rather listen to Journey than the Arcade Fire any day of the week.

Harmony Korine is so terrible. I bet Kids is one of IDRM's favorite movies.
-
I've known a handful of girls who think Jack Black is cute. They're all insane, though.
-
"Speaking of which," I should add.
