The second halves of Low and Heroes haven't aged very well; way too synth heavy and dated sounding. Eno's ambient solo work from the same period are a lot more low key and more to my style. I readily amdit to being ignorant of most of this genre, as I've long shrugged it off as new age-y, Yanni shit. EDIT: And to answer your question re: which Eno ambient albums I've heard, just Music for Airports and Apollo.

I mean, that's rephrensible, but still kinda awesome.

subliminal_animal, did you vote yesterday, or did you refuse to because they'll never let you be president.
-
I expect great things from this thread.

I'm just going to throw myself out this window.

Oh, man. That bullet train was a joke. I never thought they'd do anything, anyway.

The only good thing to come out of yesterday was Florida's minimum wage will increase for the first time in seven years.

500th post. I didn't read any of this thread, nor will I now.

I don't remember posting that, if it makes you feel any better!

The OAO What are you going as for Halloween thread
Giuseppe Zangara replied to BorneAgain's topic in General Chat
I ended up getting a bunch of garish clothes from a thrift store and claimed I was the president of NAMBLA. Party sucked, too. -
That Halloween joke thread was good until the sixth post.

And Agent of Oblivion likes a lot of different stuff, but I would never bother explaining to him the appeal of sensitive men making sensitive music.

1. Sappy, overwrought, etc. The addition of mooing cows is simply absurd. Even discounting the lyrics and sound effects, it's a dull dirge and a terrible way to end the album. 2. I love the first album, too. "Reel Around the Fountain" is my favorite Smiths song. 3. As mentioned, Your Arsenal and Vauxhall & I. Kinetic said Bona Drag, which I never got around to hearing myself, but is supposedly worthwhile. 4. Five on each side, I imagine. I've never looked at a vinyl copy of that album, but it's a safe guess. The point, however, is SHWC really falls off for me in the second half, with "Unhappy Birthday" being the nadir. "Paint a Vulgar Picture" is good, though.

Halloween Music...Danceable Tracks...

Necrobucket - Dance of the Spontaneously Combusted -
Oh, and I like Meat is Murder more than Strangeways, Here We Come. As obnoxious and braying MiM's title track is, it doesn't make me want to stab Morrissey in the throat like SHWC's "Unhappy Birthday." Still, SHWC's A-side is pretty fucking great.
-
Meat is Murder is really good if you forget the title track is there at the end of the album, festering like a cancerous appendage. [EDIT] Also, "How Soon is Now?" is alright but I never, ever want to hear it again. So, Meat is Murder has eight really, really good songs, one decent but overplayed song, and one terrible, horrible song.[/EDIT] And AndrewTS, that you compare yourself to kkk answers the question I posed to you earlier, so thanks.

The OAO What are you going as for Halloween thread

Clever? -
When he checks back in this thread, Agent will know how I feel whenever I read the board.

Are all your posts this terrible? Anyway, YPV is crazy; You are the Quarry has one or two decent songs and a lot of mediocrity. Par for the course as far as solo Morrissey goes, but Vauxhall & I and Your Arsenal are solid.
