Did you see that dig he made at me? It hit a little too close to home.

Sideburnious, you made a really stupid post on the first page. Let's talk about that.

I neither like nor care about Ben Folds, but I fail to see what's accomplished by judging him based on his personal life.

They neither look nor sound anything alike. Are you really this dumb?

Not bad. -
The last track really is about five minutes long; on the cd itself, it's followed by roughly 15 minutes of silence before a recording of Josh Homme reading a Mastodon fan letter. You're not missing anything.

JHawk's really got everyone's number.

I liked Sky Blue Sky, but have had absolutely no desire to listen to it since the summer. If pressed, I'm sure I could come up with ten albums from this year I liked, but it wouldn't be easy for me to come up with anything stable beyond the top three or four.

Ladyhawk - Shots Too soon to say how it stacks up to their debut, but still pretty solid. This album, like the last one, doesn't reinvent the wheel when it comes to musicianship. Just really strong songwriting.

Mine's named Motor. This name was settled when a friend and I found him—he was a stray—and were trying to get him to approach us, since he proved timid when he tried getting closer to him. We started yelling out random words, on the off-chance one of them would be his name. "Motor" was the first one to prompt him to walk up to us, so it stuck. -

twiztedmind, this is still in the planning stages. Gender of dog is not yet determined. Breed, as well. I'm deciding between pug and beagle. I think "Bunk" would be a better name for a beagle. -
I don't see much logic or rational thought in anything sideburnious said. Anyway, since some of you seemed to miss it/didn't bother to check if she was right, leena only got back in because registration is open to everyone again. I just created a new account without having to wait for validation. So, Czech and KOAB, bring on the gimmicks!

wtf on putting a spoiler tag on Rainn Wilson. Was LivingLegendGaryColeman thinking afterwards "HOLY SHIT, GUYS, YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHO PLAYED THE CONVENIENCE STORE CLERK" Plus, yeah, he's in the fucking trailer. And maybe even the tv commercials, but that I'm neither sure of nor do I wish for anyone to confirm or deny it.

Not you, honey. I saw you in the LSD folder; I'd make you a mix cd. Put some Sufjan Stevens on it. Maybe Rilo Kiley. -

Using leftover paypal cash from my recent ebay auctions, I just ordered Delay 1968 and Future Days from CD Universe. This rankles a bit, but no store in town has either one, so I'd have to order them no matter what.

The whole album's real swank; even the 16-minute track doesn't overextend its welcome (well, not too much).

I think it's cute that Czech thought Radiohead were too cool for the Grammies.

That's great, pbone!

I've been listening to the Stars of the Lid's The Tired Sounds of Stars of the Lid. It's two discs of guitar drones, with some strings, synths and piano along the way. It's neat stuff, though not for everyone. I also like what little of Brian Eno's ambient works I've heard. Let's talk about ambient music in this thread.

Slacked quite a bit recently on Anna Karenina, but I made up for lost time today. It's so very, very good. Also, right before semester's end, I got to read a passage from Gravity's Rainbow in front of a crowd. It only further reinforced for me how, with the right mindset, GR is a very approachable, inclusive novel.

Kevin Barnes has a pretty big dick.

Re Of Montreal: "The Past Is a Grotesque Animal" is almost a masterpiece, and I recall also really liking "Suffer for Fasion," but I can do without the rest of that album. Particularly the half-assed Prince rip-offs that dominate the back half. In other news, I'm listening to Strawberry Jam again and it's really, really boring. Once more I wonder how they managed to pull off Sung Tongs, in light of everything else.
