Shit. Right now, I can't think of any bands at all, good or band, named after a song. Wait, there's Eric's Trip. They blow.

That "dream porno" thread in LSD is kinda creepy

Bruno's spotty compared to the other two, but still good. He can be a lot more aggressively antagonistic than either Borat or Ali G, which doesn't always work on a comedic level.

I like Timmy's avatar, though. I've been watching a lot of Ali G, lately.

I posit he's a virgin and also very young. Completely inexperienced.

There's a band now called the Stars of Track & Field. Bands naming themselves after songs isn't unheard of, but this is a little weird. Couldn't they have picked a song by a band that is no longer an ongoing concern?

Assuming she hadn't just taken some of your load, kissing a girl after she's gone down on you is nothing. Timmy's never had sex before.

How to convert your Showbiz Pizza into a Chuck E. Cheese

The Showbiz Pizza gorilla used to scare the shit out of me when I was little.

    Let's edit bloated double albums

Physical Graffiti I actually wouldn't cut anything from this one (well, maybe "In the Light"), but I hate the sequencing. Putting all the rock numbers on the first disc and the "experimental" numbers on the second disc make listening to PG overall more of a slog than it should be. I might, this evening, work on what I think would've been a more ideal tracklist. (I'd do it now, but I'd rather wait until I'm listening to the album so it's fresh in my mind.) Roxy Music - s/t The first five songs are great; the second half of the album loses the plot and drowns in avant wankery. The last track, "Bitters End," is nice, but too little, too late given the overwhelming mediocrity that proceeded it. Drop tracks 6-10, which leaves the following almost classic: 1. Remake/Remodel 2. Ladytron 3. If There is Something 4. Virginia Plain 5. 2HB In spite of liking "Bitters End," it would stick out in this reconstituted version of the s/t. It goes.

Would I like Final Fantasy? I've not bothered listening to him mainly for his stage name.

"What's your problem with [blank]?" "I think they're [blank], among other things." "Well, they're not [blank], but I don't want to talk about them anymore."

    NewsRadio Season 5 DVD

"Bill Moves On" is the only time a sitcom made me teary-eyed. Still, this was a shitty season. I'll pass.

Another reason why ESPN Threads suck

Only posting in this thread because Czech made a Rando-caliber pun.

    Modest Mouse - "Dashboard"

Czech, don't ever download . Or, do. I haven't heard it since it came out, but I recall the guy sounding absolutely lost on it, and lyrics weren't the only problem.

    Modest Mouse - "Dashboard"

He already worked with Bernard Sumner in Electronic. Wasn't that enough for unexceptional side projects featuring the frontman from a famous synth band? Also, Isaac Brock makes enough money now. Why not hire a personal trainer?

    Modest Mouse - "Dashboard"

That's true about Moz; almost, if not all, of his solo songs are co-written, mostly with his guitarist, Alain Whyte. The reason we're picking on Marr is due to both his being unable to find a good songwriting partner, as well as flaming out whenever he tries to strike out on his own. Morrissey's solo work is spotty, yeah, but he's still had a better (in every sense of the word) career post-Smiths than Marr.

They're still just one of the better known indie bands in this country, but in Canada—home of redbaron51—the band is treated as the Great White Hope of Rock in the media. They were even on the cover of the Canadian edition of Time! I'd probably dislike them a lot more than I do now if I lived there.
  18. You know, I generally ignore all this banning bullshit, but really, why are the people in charge here choosing to remain consistent with the one person out of all the multiple-time bannees who is actually funny?

    Worst Song(s) of 2006

Has it been discussed that the Black Eyed Peas, while horrible, are better now than back in their "alt rap" era? The hackwork of a bunch of no-talent pop stars is more tolerable than the BEP of yesteryear, what with their clumsy rhymes about reaching a higher consciousness and remarkably ill-advised boasts of alleged rapping skills.

Well, to see if I had any STDs, I recently had my penis swabbed. Do you need further details?

Oh and Czech, since you were given Against the Day I guess what I'm about to say doesn't apply to you, but, I'd have gone with every other of Pynchon's novels first. AtD is good, but about 300 pages too long. Anyone interested in reading it should just wait for the paperback.

I don't think American Pastoral was repetitive in any spot. Zuckerman's recalling his childhood idolization of the Swede—and his discovery of the Swede turning into a shallow dullard later in life—fit right into his (Zuckerman's) discovery of the tragedy that had befallen the Swede in the interim.
