As for J.D.: I've never completely liked him (like I do, say, Dr. Cox), but he definitely has his moments. For every homosexual reference there's a rant like in "My TCW" (probably my favorite of his) or stuff like in last week's and this week's episodes.

This discussion reminds me that season 3 comes out on DVD next Tuesday.

The new "Meat Fanatics" promotion at Fridays calls for: The Meat Fanatics platter! A 9 oz. marinated skirt steak, a half-rack of double-glazed ribs, two sausages, and potato skins covered in pulled pork! With a side of vegetables! Dig in!! ... They also took the Oreo Madness off of the dessert menu, the fuckers.

How much does Brave New World resemble 1984? I really enjoyed the latter but at times the anti-totalitarian preaching got a little ridiculous and out of hand (then again, given the time period I guess it had to be). Assigned reading was a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, this year I learned to appreciate Shakespeare (Othello, Macbeth, Hamlet) and Conrad's Heart of Darkness (there was also Crime and Punishment, but...that's the exception), but my junior year, outside of The Crucible, consisted of stuff like The Awakening and Their Eyes... which I couldn't stand. My least favorite experience was The Good Earth in 10th grade, but that was balanced out by reading Things Fall Apart immediately after.

And Cox calls J.D. by his real name for the first time, ever? Episode really picked up at the end. I can't wait for the apparently two-part finale.

Whoa, Will Arnett and Tony Hale are in R.V.?

Seriously. What's worse is that more and more people are being told that they have "AP potential" and, at least down here, even if a teacher doesn't recommend a student for an AP class, a parent can easily override and get their kid in. I think our school alone has 100+ people taking the AP Psych exam next Wednesday, when probably 60% will pass.

No lawn trucks impeding my ride to school today. Bonus.

Fuck yes, marking the vodka match. -
I picked up One-Hundred Years of Solitude for the summer, thanks for that recommendation. Also on the list for the summer: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury my second attempt at Paradise Lost by Milton As for a recommendation, Candide by Voltaire is one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. Really ludicrous, melodramatic, and a whole lot of fun.

Can't argue with Manilow. -
Nitpick: Grappler and Duran both took about 7 months to win the World title.

I found a solid little deal going on at deepdiscountdvd.com (well, it actually starts on May 2nd). There are some two-disc sets going on sale for $10.38, including Magnolia, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Space Jam. I don't know what else goes for the price, but I snatched up Magnolia.

Apparently this was the start of a three episode Cox arc. Next week: "My Fallen Idol" Dr. Cox starts drinking after his decisions result in the death of three of his patients. The staff tries to cover for him at the hospital while everyone tries to convince him how inspiring he is for them. Turk starts his new rotation with orthopedic surgery, but isn't so fond of his attending doctor's touchy-feely methods. Thus, J.D. and the Janitor attempt to help Turk find ways to bond with his new supervisor.

Holy shit. With the awesome Janitor episode last week and this little piece of amazingness that just happened, this season is getting a whole lot better. The Todd is, uh, omnisexual, I guess. and Dr. Cox proves why he's the best character on the show.

But "Emery" flows so much better. Either way, he's nothing but a slimy twinkletoed communist cocksucker motherfucker who just signed his own death warrant.

Boogie Nights - 9/10 Really great stuff for my first PT Anderson experience. I loved the Raging Bull influence (close-ups of settings before the scene, the final scene monologue in the dressing room), naked Heather Graham, and surprisingly good performances by Julianne Moore and Mark Wahlberg (usual good from Macy and Cheadle), and awesomeness by John C. Reilly. Now I have to see Magnolia.

Felonies!, I'm tired of your fucking power trip.

Hell yeah, tonight was great. I love The Janitor so I'm glad he finally got his own episode. Cox's "NAAA" rant was inspired. Eliot's mom: "I had a C-section with all my children, so everything's still perfect down there." Love it.
