damn right. music: "Some Kind of Monster" by Metallica. He's like 6'9" and 300 lbs., or something. He wears traditional black trunks, boots, etc. He's hairy. Resthold resthold resthold, Powerbomb and Sleeper. And whatever power moves.

Heaven forbid they nominate an innovative director like Tarantino or Michael Gondry. What did Hackford do with Ray that merited a nomination over one of those two? And I haven't heard too much about Vera Drake; I don't think it was ever released here. How was that?

depends on if I win or not. Zing. I can't be arsed to draw up a full stats sheet for Grappler, but I'll edit something in here later tonight with the basics.

I'm still confused a little miffed at Foxx getting a supporting nod for Collateral (I would've liked to see Carradine in his spot), but then again, Spacey won his supporting actor Oscar playing Verbal Kint in The Usual Suspects, and he was the focus of that movie. I guess in the latter's case, it was an ensemble cast, so though Spacey was the focus, he 'supported' the rest of the group? I don't know. Foxx was good, but that nomination is bullshit.

If you take out all of the weird inside jokes and general fluff in my Clusterfuck, you'd have a word limit somewhere around the 15k. I just got so bored writing some parts, I had to entertain myself somehow. Fluff was the answer. Also, having a limit at 15k means I'll be able to write this year.

This is some exciting stuff, guys.

No, I meant "hero" as in "main character". Meaning he should be considered as 'actor' and not 'supporting actor'. I agree that Cruise made the movie, though.
-
I'd like to see Eastwood take best director, but seeing Sideways win best picture would really be grand. Foxx has best actor on lock. He really shouldn't be nominated for best supporting in Collateral, though. Sure, Cruise got top billing, but Foxx was the hero of the movie. Hopefully Kaufman is nominated for and wins best screenplay.

Ugh. I don't see anything interesting coming out for the next month, until Be Cool on March 4th. Well, at least until they finally release Million Dollar Baby down here. Grumble grumble.

Tobias: All right, fellas, look, I know you know nothing but a life on the street. But I’d like to offer you something that the Queen Mary gave me. The joy of the stage. So, maybe you could, uh, start je-taying, and stop... je-terrorizing me. Barry: Good news, and even better news. Your company’s stock is unfrozen, and my lawsuit against the L.A. Kings is moving forward. Michael: How did that happen? Barry: Ah, maybe I stood above Plexiglas and a puck hit me. It could happen. Tobias: No, no, no. The club. I was dancing with what turned out to be the club’s owner, and he was looking to sell. Oh, he-he really, really did look like a woman. But anywho, can you believe that the only reason the club is going under is because it’s in a terrifying neighborhood?! Tobias: (Sighing.) Well, I suppose I could just paint over “Mary.” Narrator: Indeed, Starla and Buster did hit it off well, Buster being a sweeter, more supportive man than she was used to, and Starla being a woman that wasn’t 70.

Oh my god. Tobias is the greatest character ever. Queen Mary. Ahahahaha. Everything with the Hot Cops was so great. Also, the "I read your notes" bit was hilarious. "So Gob fucked Lucielle II."

Garden State - 8/10 Really enjoyable. I mean, there were a lot of typical romantic comedy cliches, but it was executed better than I had expected. Braff was good (although as a director he really harped on the 'isolated' bit of his character), and Natalie Portman was great. My favorite scene was the 'infinite abyss'. Nice bit of work there.

Garden State Taxi Driver The Shining

His autobiography was actually a pretty good read.

See, at least Jonathan was entertaining. Adam & Rebecca and Freddy & Kendra have absolutely no redeeming value on the show.
-
Great, now we can see more of Kendra bitching about 3rd world countries.

Top Three Most Played Albums in Recent Weeks

Jay-Z, The Blueprint Oh man. My favorite rap album. The only songs that I dislike are "Renegade" and "Girls, Girls, Girls". Besides that, it's all brilliant. Once I hear "Hola Hovito", it's stuck in my head for the rest of the day. That and "Never Change" are probably my favorites. Prince, 1999 This was an acquired taste. I wasn't used to 9 minute dance tracks, but after a few listens in the car, I loved it. Of course, "Little Red Corvette" is probably my favorite song ever, but besides that I'm really loving "D.M.S.R." and "Let's Pretend We're Married". Kevin Spacey, Beyond the Sea Sountrack Slightly surprising. But I really enjoyed the movie, mostly because of the soundtrack. "Mack the Knife", "Beyond the Sea", and "Dream Lover" are classics, of course, but the entire cd is really good, especially when I had never heard Spacey sing before. I downloaded Darin's version of "Mack" and they sounded nearly identical. The kid who played young Bobby is annoying, but that's only on two tracks. -
Myspace is actually quite awesome.

Apparently Good Morning, Captain was used in the movie Kids. Has anyone seen that? How's the song used?
