Oh, that's not bad. I went to the 10 am showing today and there was only one other person in the theater with me, hence the pessimism. I personally loved it, though. -

Is Beyond the Sea still a limited release? because I don't think it'll do too well, unfortunately. -
I really enjoyed Beyond the Sea. Maybe it's just the Kevin Spacey fanboy in me, but it was a fun movie with an amazing soundtrack and great acting by Spacey and Kate Bosworth. John Goodman and Bob Hoskins were really good, too. Yeah, Spacey directed, wrote, produced, and starred in it (he's in all but about 5 minutes of the movie), and for whatever reason the critics bashed him for that. So what? It's not like he was a detriment. I liked it. 8/10

"Into the White" by the Pixies is such a repetitive song. I have no idea why I enjoy it so much.

haha.

Nobody knows who Nathan Fillion is. And few people know Joss Whedon. And they'll think it's another Battlefield Earth. I mean, that's not going to stop me from seeing it, but it's going to do terribly.

I don't see why it wouldn't.

Prince - 1999 (1982) 1999 - 10 Little Red Corvette - 10 Delirious - 8 Let's Pretend We're Married - 7 D.M.S.R. - 9 Automatic - 8 Something in the Water (Does Not Compute) - 7 Free - 6 Lady Cab Driver - 7 All the Critics Love U In New York - 7 International Lover - 8 Two classics, and some really good, long dance hits. 'Free' feels a little out of place on the album, but besides that it's really solid.

Fucking BRILLIANT! Great dialogue, great comedy, excellent characters, and Thomas Haden Church is the man. If he doesn't win Best Supporting Actor, there is no justice in the world. Could've done without the male full frontal nudity, but besides that it was fantastic. A++ indeed.

Hey, I never saw that before. And, ouch.
-
well, I'm glad you didn't break up because of the Ejaculation Chamber.

It's being called the best movie of the year everywhere, and it has like a 96% on rottentomatoes. I'm probably going to see it this weekend.

He's doing another tour in '05, right? I mean, I heard some nasty rumors about 2004ever being his last tour, and that just can't be. I have to see him live.

wtf that's like 20 minutes from me! too close for comfort!

Purple Rain - 10/10 (Note: don't take this score seriously)

Oliver Stone's Platoon was a brilliant study of war. Before watching this, I had questioned Charlie Sheen and Tom Berenger's respective acting abilities. This movie proved me wrong. Brilliant performances by all, actually, including the smaller roles like Kevin Dillon. Not as good as Apocalypse Now in the cinematography department, but Platoon totally blows it away with the story and the action. Other than that, they're hard to compare. They basically have the same purpose (to show how war changes a man), but they were approached in completely different manners. I prefer Platoon's gritty portrayal. The best movie on Vietnam I've ever seen, and possibly one of the best war films I've ever seen. 9/10

Napoleon Dynamite was about a 5/10, in my opinion. It was original and fun, but pointless. Most of the humor was just humor because it came out of nowhere. I doubt it'd be as funny on a second viewing. Still, props for trying something new, I guess. This just isn't as good as most people said it was.

hey, that's really cool. congratulations.

The people in the "What Movie Did You Watch Today" thread that saw it gave "Darkness" 4/10 and 3/10, respectively. Are Aviator's earnings good for its limited release?

Strangely satisfying day of music.
