I think I'm not the only LSU fan that's a extremely pissed right now. It's one thing to leave for the pros. LSU fans were willing to give him a pass on that. (Hell, he got a standing ovation when he brought the Dolphins into Tiger Stadium to play the Saints) Coming back to coach for a rival is NOT something people will give him a pass on. I think I should go ahead and reserve a hotel room in Tuscaloosa for the weekend of Nov. 10 so that I can join in the cheers of "F*CK YOU SABAN" as Miles brings the pain with Saban's own recruits.

The Saints could use a starting TE as well, but it wouldn't be a 1st round pick because of their needs on defense. (They sorely need a play-making LB (preferably an ILB to stop the run), a DT to go with Hollis Thomas, and a CB to replace Fred Thomas)

Dontchaknow the Smurfs' ex-coach at Colorado is REALLY wishing he hadn't jumped ship on them...

Depends on the team that has the opportunity to draft him... Someone gunshy of assholes like TO, Me-shawn, and Randy Moss, like Philly, wouldn't want him. ME-Shawn has kept his mouth shut with Carolina, which surprises me. Unless he did and no one noticed over STEVE SMITH STEVE SMITH STEVE SMITH. I mentioned him out of the habits he had in New York, Tampa, and Dallas. He HAS been an asset rather than a liability in Carolina, though.

USC puts up another 6, but blows ANOTHER PAT. Michigan can still pull back into this with just 2 TDs and extra points, no more 2-point attempts.

    NFL Week 17

You can wait on a decision until after their 2nd round game. If they don't go to the NFC Championship, let alone the Super Bowl, his offensive coordinator and QB coach at the LEAST will be in jeopardy.

Let's see... Cal getting "screwed" out of the Rose Bowl and then losing the Holiday Bowl while Texas wins the Rose Bowl. Check. Kansas State getting "screwed" out of a Coalition bowl and then losing the Holiday Bowl. Check. The only exception to this is Auburn, who won the Sugar Bowl to finish 12-0 the year that USC and Oklahoma played for the title in the Orange Bowl.

On the bright side for me... Michigan losing means LSU can slide up as high as #2 if Florida loses to Ohio State and LSU kills ND.

    NFL Week 17

The Colts are being smacked down because they have the worst rush defense in the league, while the Chiefs have one of the best rushers in the league and some of the best O-Line guys. My SB prediction right now is San Diego vs. Philly, as I'm not confident in Chicago at all and I'm not enough of homer to say New Orleans right now.

Associated question: Should "Mexico 3:16" stand for "I just gave you herpes!" or "I just got my coach canned!"?

Just wait for Coughlin to take the gig. That's a f*ckin' set right there... The Alabama Board of Trustees and Coughlin deserve each other.

I don't think Saban will take it and I think Alabama is going to get completely soaked by whoever DOES take the position because these terms are being leaked.

Watching the game now... Defensive struggle isn't exactly what I was expecting with these two offenses out there.

The Saints weren't going to take Mario... they were going to take AJ Hawk. The Saints were confident in having Will Smith and Charles Grant at DE, even if Grant may leave via Free Agency this year. LB was a bigger concern and AJ Hawk would be the leader of the new Dome Patrol if he'd been drafted.

Yep, which is part of the problem. That's why someone like Saban only agrees to take on a head-coach position if they also have significant say over the players under them, even if they aren't a full GM. If Arthur Blank wants to win, he needs to have a coach come in with a definite plan and the ability to move his player around to get that done, much like Sean Payton has in New Orleans. Payton came in and weeded out roughly 27 players from last year's roster, some of them leaving via free agency and not being re-signed (LeCharles Bentley, Darren Howard), others being cut for not meeting his standards, and more being traded because he could make due with others at their position (Donte Stallworth). Payton was able to take a team that pretty much had Deuce, Jammal Brown, Joe Horn, Mike McKenzie, Will Smith, and Charles Grant and turn it into the #2 team in the NFC. (I don't put Devery Henderson, Mike Karney, or others in here because they weren't stars last year, despite being on the roster.) If Atlanta was able to do that by evaluating what they want to do with Vick, picking over their defense, etc., then they may be competitive next year.

I'm curious as to why you think Buffalo should be on that list. The Bills might not have a star WR but the recieving unit is above average as a whole. A few sites who have team needs listed have the Bills written up as needing WRs. Granted, that may be because a few people are still pissed at Peerless Price over his failed Atlanta stint.

12-9 in the playoffs is suddenly a bad record? Dungy is under .500 as is Schottenheimer. Pittsburgh has rebuilt their team like four times and have never seemed to miss the playoffs for more than one year at a time under Cowher. Dungy the "defensive mastermind" is in control of one of the worst defenses of all time in Indy. Horrible, horrible comparison. Chin is one of the best coaches in the NFL. I would rank him, Gruden and Bellichick in the top 3. They have two in house replacements who are hot head coaching candidates in Whisenhunt and Grimm. I highly doubt that they wouldn't hire one of these two guys should Cowher step down "The Chin" was under .500 before last year's run. If Dungy wins a SB this year he'd be just as overrated as Cowher. It's an apt comparison. You currently ranking Gruden as a top 3 coach ends your credibility. The points you try to make are incredibly retarded. "Before Cowher won a Super Bowl" - Well, he did win a Super Bowl. Maybe you think you should take that into account when ranking him as a head coach. The only knock on Cowher before he won the Super Bowl was that his teams would choke in the big games. His teams are consistantly well-coached and consistantly overachieve. His team won three playoff games on the road after falling to 10-6 due to injuries and won the Super Bowl. We'll talk about "if Dungy wins a Super Bowl" if he ever does. He won't though, I think he's a bad coach and his speed-orientated defenses have consistantly disappointed in recent years. And if Gruden isn't a top 3 coach then who is? I'd go with The Tuna, Bill Parcells, as #3, although Joe Gibbs would be arguable if you go by the lifetime record and not his last few years.

Vet QBs available after this season- 1. Jake Plummer, if Denver can get a good trade 2. Jeff Garcia, if Philly doesn't resign him 3. Byron Leftwich? 4. Jon Kitna? 5. Matt Schaub (restricted FA) 6. Damon Huard (unrestricted FA) 7. Aaron Brooks... wait, the Raiders haven't cut him yet. O-Line help on the market after this season- 1. Leonard Davis (UFA) - Doubtful he re-signs with the Cardinals 2. Mike Gandy (UFA) - The Raiders could make an offer so that they get him at left tackle and move Gallery to RT Potential suckers, er, takers for Randy Moss- 1. Minnesota Vikings 2. Tampa Bay Bucs 3. Dallas Cowboys 4. Green Bay Packers 5. Buffalo Bills 6. NY Giants The Vikings are the leaders because they've dealt with him before under prior management. As far as the Raiders trading this pick, who the hell would want it? This is like a few years ago when San Fran had the #1 pick and had to take Alex Smith because they couldn't move it for a reasonable price. Hell, I don't think the Texans could find any good takers for THEIR pick last year when everyone was creaming themselves over Reggie Bush, Vince Young, and Matt Leinart, all of which were seen as legitimate #1 picks. The only non-QB players at the top of the board are DE Gaines Adams, WR Calvin Johnson, RB Adrian Peterson, and OT Joe Thomas. No one will want to pay #1 pick money for these guys when they could get Detroit's #2 pick, get the same guy, and pay millions less. The good news for Detroit and Oakland, though, is that the market for rookie QBs in this draft is fairly poor. If they CAN drop down 5-10 slots, they'll still probably have their choice of Quinn, Russell, Troy Smith, and Brian Brohm. (I think the only team looking for a star QB besides those two is Minnesota, who picks at #7. Everyone else, like Green Bay and Tampa Bay, have other needs that have to be filled first.)

JaMarcus Russell of LSU is a better Raiders pick at QB. He's 6'6", 250+ pounds, has a rocket arm, threw with 70% accuracy this year, and has learned how to scramble. That last part is a necessity unless they can shore up that O-Line "anchored" by "T-Rex arms" Robert Gallery.

Thoughts- 1. Denny Green's job was in peril the second he signed Edge and drafted Leinart, yet didn't shore up the O-line. 2. Mora Sr. was right in that Vick is a coach-killer. However, Mora Jr. didn't help his own case though. Whoever replaced Mora Jr. will have to put up with Vick's shit, which will handicap him and limit the team's offensive capabilities IMHO. 3. Saban (I hope) isn't dumb enough to go to Alabama unless he can get an ironclad contract that dictates increased penalties if they can him before a certain number of years. 4. Art Shell SHOULD be fired but won't. 5. Joe Gibbs may be in trouble for Dan Snyder's shortcoming as an owner, which should be no surprise to anyone. 6. Romeo Crennel will get a mulligan for this year considering most of his O-Line went out for the year before the season even started. 7. Matt Millen stays, somehow.

    NFL Week 17

I did that NFL Bandwagon thing and it told me my backup team (after the Saints) was Jacksonville. Somehow, I figured that it would tell me Dallas instead as the questions would point to both teams, except for one about bling.
