One of the problems with Russell is that sometimes he's determined to get it to his receiver of choice, Dwayne Bowe, no matter what kind of coverage he's in.
That's been less of a problem this year, as it seems they've taught him more about doing check-downs from his top choice to whatever open options he has.
Last year, he'd force a pass to someone like Bowe (typically for an INT) or wait around until he took a bad sack.
This year, ESPECIALLY since the Tennessee game, he's been starting to scramble if there are no open options and he sees a hole.
While he's not a rush-first QB like Vick, it adds some dimension to his game if he's able to scramble if necessary instead of doing his best Drew Bledsoe impression and standing around until he gets sacked.
