The Diva Search stuff really turns me off. I just switch the channels, and really don't have much desire to change back. Oh well, only ten more weeks of that crap. Something about Eugene just annoys me. While it was a pretty nice beatdown by Evolution, the match was stupid. Yes, I realize the reasoning behind it, but I would have rathered they do it another way. I don't know how smart it is to have your face champion go against another face who is, more often than not, more over than the champ right now. It just seems like bad business to me, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And where was Edge during the beatdown? I guess they just wanted to set up a six-man next week or something. Actually, it is quite interesting that the Evolution feud with Benoit/Eugene is kept seperate than the Edge feud with Evolution. Didn't mind the Jericho/Kane match, but I hate those finishes. I guess they had to to keep either man from losing heat (although Kane losing to Matt didn't help that much, did it?). Kudos to Lita for having the best promo of her life. I actually believed her emotion. Man, did Jericho get mad at Kane tossing him over the top rope or what? Jeesh, I think I'd call that over-reacting. I was sort of hoping after the Hurricane/Flair promo that somehow this leads to Hurricane dropping the mask and becoming more serious. It's a great comedy gimmick and all, but he's been at it for almost three years. I think it's time for a change.

It wouldn't really be listening to Edge. Edge could just make a snide comment pointing out that Evolution wasn't there when he needed them. Randy, character wise, would be thinking that already, right?
-
If Batista or Orton splits from Evolution (I'd say Orton's more likely) in the next little while, maybe they should partly play it up that Edge got in the ear of Orton. It should be subtle, and in 6 monthes or so, when Evolution's done, Edge can mention it. Afterall, he said he'd pick off Evolution one-by-one. It doesn't have to be taking them out physically though. I really hope Eugene isn't staying in the main events for a lot longer, because he's annoying me now.

I'm assuming he didn't blade because this match is more 'techincal' with Benoit rather than hate driven with HBK. And with most of his past opponents (Steiner, Nash, ect.), maybe he hoped no one would notice that the match sucked and just remember him bleeding alot.

Heh, quite funny the different opinions on the Edge/Orton match. The ratings have been from ** to ****1/4. Very strange.
-
Good thing they didn't have Edge saying he'll take down Evolution one person at a time and then lose to Orton. Were the fans going back and forth with the chants the whole match?
-
Jericho lost? I guess they are planning on extending this feud until SummerSlam. Or they want to push both guys and have to have them both looking strong. What a copeout finish.
-
Hopefully this match is good. Jericho's quite good at big man vs. small man matches, and Batista's good at, uh, being a big man.

Did someone get kicked in the head? Please say someone got kicked in the head! Oh, by the way, I missed something on Heat. Why were Richards and Victoria face to face?

WWE News & Notes from the 7/12 Observer

Yes, let's let Edge cut his hair so he looks exactly like Christian, Test, Val Venis, and all the OVW guys. Smart plan guys! For the record, cutting his hair won't make him more or less a badass. Why he's in that role in the first place is beyond me, but I guess that's another issue for another time. -
Not a segment really, but Austin and RVD's interaction during the Alliance always got a laugh out of me.
-
True. In their J-Cup '95 (I think) match, Benoit busted out the Liontamer on Jericho. It was quite odd to see.

Works for me. Any takers?

Oh, this article is too funny. Geez, it's a back flip while facing forward. It's impressive, sure, but not unthinkable. And Kidman doesn't make the move look too easy when he injures himself doing it. When I first saw that, I though "had" was "have", and I was going to go on that his own partner does it. But I re-read it. Whew, Train making-an-ass-of-myself derailed! And Kidman is still whining Brock used the SSP. I really don't think he should be scolding Brock for injuring himself by doing the move when he's gotten injured frequently from fucking up the move.

New Mattitude Commentary-- Be positive, guys.
CanadianChick replied to The Mandarin's topic in The WWE Folder
If something we see on WWE TV or a PPV sucks, we have the right to criticize it with reason, and the in-ring product SHOULD be an important factor in a wrestling promotion. Sports-entertainment became stale a long time ago, although there should be at least some simple and logical storylines to build to a feud in addition to a great match. Just because Matt Hardy said that the Lita/Kane/Matt pregnancy angle is getting a reaction, he never said WHICH reaction it is getting, which is obviously negative, because logically, pregnancy angles not only shouldn't ever happen in wrestling again since pregnancy deals more with real life, but also because they always turn out shitty, like Mae Young giving birth to a hand, for example. You are absolutely right: you are allowed to criticize when something is bad. Far be it for me to put words in Matt Hardy's mouth, but I think that it's blind hatred that bugs him. He even said himself that instead of just saying something sucks, explain how it can be fixed. And everyone here knows that pure wrestling isn't the whole thing. It's the basis of success, but storylines are important too. No one can dispute that, and you haven't obviously. I'm not a fan of the pregnancy angle, but is it getting them ratings? If it is, then it's a success. If it isn't, it's a failure. I hate it, you hate it, a lot of people hate it, but if it gets ratings (I have no idea if it does), it's obviously attracting other people. -

He's not 'bashing' the internet. He obviously is huge on positivity in life (which is quite obvious from his past columns), so why should it be different with his views on the internet? And he is right about Lita when saying she draws in fans (teenage girls in particular) and is popular. He never said her ring work was great or anything. I don't see the big deal. He didn't call us 12 year olds on our mommy's computer who are nerds at school. He rightly points out we are negitive. Judging from that column, he doesn't mind constructive critisism, but rather blind hate. Of course, I bet some people will hate this column, blindly. -
I need a match. This time, it won't be a squash, I promise!
-
Aw, poor Edge. He had to get interviewed by an idiot for an hour? Ouch. Anyways, either than the interviewer, I liked it. "..not in the ring" line about wrestling girls was pretty funny.

Smackdown is truly being treated like a joke now.
CanadianChick replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
It's not like the Dudleys were doing anything with it. It seems to me that Smackdown in the brand that likes to push new people (Mordicai, Kenzo, Luther). This is just another example of it. As for making the titles look like jokes, you're wrong. The celebration that the two had showed just how important the belts actually were. -
Discuss it in the Smackdown Thread Rrrsh.

The last great world title match
CanadianChick replied to Australian Pride's topic in The WWE Folder
Well then, do one or the other. Don't try to do both. Either have Austin pin Kurt on the third Stunner, or have Kurt win. Kurt winning would have made a mighty fine story, with him kicking out of three stunners and all. How so? They didn't do a definate finish to make both guys look strong just to lead up to comedy? What a waste of a finish. If they didn't even captalise on it, it was pointless. -
My character is the Female Phenom. Now Dupree is the French Phenom! That's all I got.

The last great world title match
CanadianChick replied to Australian Pride's topic in The WWE Folder
About the whole "Angle getting great support after Summerslam": He did? Funny how whenever he was in a match with RVD (before and after Unforgiven), they crowd wouldn't be all patrotic and chant "USA". Instead, they'd chant RVD. There is a reason that Angle turned heel shortly after No Mercy: he wasn't a good face at all. As RRR said, he was just a cookie cutter face. Even with the whole country being patrotic at the time, Angle still didn't get "great support". The only time he got a fantastic reaction is when he won the title in his hometown. -
It isn't working for moi...

I'd guess Shannon Moore since he's the only crusier not wrestling on Smackdown tonight.
