What would be the best creative team possible?
CanadianChick replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
Now that punchline sure didn't work for her, did it? Here's a question to throw out there: which humour would be better suited for WWE, assuming both are done to their best ability: everyday humour (much like sitcom humour) or gag humour (think Family Guy here). I think everyday humour, because the gag humour was DX's thing, and that was back in '97. -

Or she's just plain not funny and tries to cover it up with silly gags and kid humour. And people say it's only guys that have too much of an ego to admit when they suck at something... -

Speaking of the writing, I'm pretty well sick of comedy that isn't funny and is plain juvenile. I mean, the humour isn't intelligent in the slightest. I don't think that WWE should go Frasier or anything (that's considered intelligent humour, right? I can never get my sitcoms straight...), but putting a bit of an IQ on their comedy would help them greatly. 1) You wouldn't have people embarrassed to watch the product. This includes smarks, marks, casual fans, not yet fans, or anyone just flipping the channels and stopping on Raw because it looks interesting. This crap with Visera, Jillian Hall and the like has to stop. 2) The audience won't feel that WWE is insulting their intelligence. I know, I know, a lot of fans are rednecks who would be hard pressed to have their intelligence insulted, but the last thing WWE should do is expose that. If the product is more sophisticated and smart, the fans feel smart watching it. When you serve for the lowest denominator, that's all you're serving to. When you serve to a higher denominator, you're serving to them and everyone below that. It's really simple logic. An idiot redneck won't turn off the TV if an angle is too intelligent for him, because really, he still gets to see that bad guy face that good guy. All that being said, I think RRR's idea is terrific. I would love to see rounded characters that are similar to people you meet in your everyday life, but just stripped down to animal instinct (as in solving their problems in the ring rather than with words and lawyers). We do need something drastically different, as every boom did. We've been in Attitude for 8 years nearly, and it's getting old. -
Wow, you sound very, very bitter at all females there. This mole crap is stupid, but Melina is good for the team. A good valet is something we haven't had since maybe Sunny. It's refreshing to see a female being so good at her character. This "bitch", as you so eloquently put it DH, helps the team with their mimbo and superficial gimmick. To say she's a dime a dozen is pretty laughable, since she is actually interesting. I'll take her over any of the girls on Smackdown, and the girls on Raw except for Trish and Victoria. If a girl isn't going to wrestle, they should be in the position that Melina is. There is a female problem (oops, I mean "bitch" problem. Sorry DH!) in WWE, without a doubt. It's hilarious that you're ragging on the one that is in the best role a female can be in though.

Is the Z there to appeal to the youngins?
-
Well of course he delivers one of their best promos. When you spend year after year delivering the exact same interview almost verbatim, odds are, you'll eventually get it right. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really, then what happened to Cena and JBL? They repeat themselves way more than HHH does and they're nowhere near as entertaining. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, that's debateable. I like Cena's interviews a whole lot more because he actually gets the crowd involved and seems excited on the mic. Granted, they should cut down his mic time, as they should for everyone. JBL, I agree. The guy is actually worse than Triple H in repeating himself. And he gets so much time on the mic... Hm, seems the underlining theme is too much mic time. Huh, well there you go. I like how WWE.com is trying to have more of an edge. Sure, maybe it doesn't appeal to some of us necessarly, but it does to the wannabe smarks, which is a big percentage. Ya know, guys and gals who know what a heel and face are, and know of Matt getting screwed, but don't really read the Observer and stuff like that.
-
Good. Dude is stale as hell and quickly becoming a bitchy little douche. Time away from the WWE will do him a world of good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Bitchy little douche?" Um, okay then. Well, I really hope he decides to stay, because he's one of my favorite wrestlers. However, he could give quite the boost to TNA if he decides he still does want to wrestle part time. We'll see. Then again, talks like these were happening when RVD's contract was up last year, and that didn't really amount to anything.

Aw, London isn't on Smackdown again. Was he on Velocity?
-
Well, last time he went on face bad ass mode, it was when he returned from his quad injury. He was an AWFUL face and only got one really big face reaction.
-
Well they could of at least made the effort for the two to interact, even if it was just once. Even as something as simple as Benoit saying he's sick of how the US belt is being degraded and he'll put some prestigue in it, blah blah blah.
-
Oh, I want Triple H to come back as a face, just so I can laugh at his lack of face reaction compared to others (Cena, Hardy if he's still in the Edge feud, RVD). It'll be hilarious for him to be upstaged by so-called midcarders. Hey, and if he does come back, maybe Jericho *will* win at Summerslam....only to lose in a month to Trips for number 11.
-
The double usage of another finisher is fine on occasion. Eddy and RVD's frogsplashes are perfect examples. But I think in order for people to do it, the moves should look somewhat different. It's tough to make a move like the 450 splash unique. But the frogsplash and the SSP? Those are pretty easy to look distinct.

What Do You Think Eddie's Secret Is ?
CanadianChick replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Ah, the above would make some sense, since the goal is to paint Rey in a good light. He's a good man that just wants the best for his family. That's seriously the best way this can go. -
Well, if Matt wins, will it even matter? Will he get more, or have the same, heat? Because if his heat fizzles out, than him winning is very, very pointless.
-
Why aren't there any faces of Raw? You've got Cena, Hogan (who's leaving soon), Hardy (who may just be over for one feud), uh Big Show (currently doing a total midcard angle)? Kane (in a never ending feud with Edge, which is a feud NO ONE wants to see)? Shelton (in a never ending feud with Carlito)? Triple H is *so* coming back as a face.
-
I'll be very interested when RVD comes back and when the Hardy/Edge program is done. Logically, he'll be the number two face (in terms of reaction), behind Cena because I get the feeling Hardy's heat will dry up when this feud is over. I know he probably won't get pushed as such, but he'll have to get some sort of higher profile feud because who else is a face on Raw? You've got Hogan, who I'm assuming is gone after Summerslam. The Big Show, who's currently doing the Masterlock and if that's an indication of anything, he won't be doing a whole lot of main eventing. Kane, who WWE is very tempermental on regarding main event status. Lastly, you've got Shelton, who is doing a whole lot of nothing right now. Really, looking at the lack of faces on Raw, I'm thinking Triple H is coming back as a face. And I really hope you does because Cena and RVD will triumph his reaction, only because he's been a heel for how long?
-
Yeah, I remember Zack. Stupid cameraman being a pervert.... Short and sweet? Psh, I ain't short. I'll feedback either late, late tonight or tomorrow, because the show looks awesome when I skimmed through it.
-
Why bother with that comparison? One is in a high profile feud and the other has a belt and they both suck. What's your point?
-
A coloured ones? What does that mean, oh panty expert?
-
I'll be honest, I don't really get the promo love for this guy. Yeah, he cuts a decent promo, but not that good. He....Talks...Like...This....All....The...Time. It...Gets...Pretty....Annoying. Not to mention he blows at, um, what's this thing called? Oh yeah, wrestling! Not only isn't he good, but he's boring. If you're a bad wrestler, you have to at least do some cool moves or something.

COLE (sighing) Okay folks, it's time for Brodie's interview from the sattalite. Now, I don't normally do this but parents, I might put the kids to bed. We all know how unpredictable this woman can be, as seen last week, so we strongly advise children to not watch this. (Cut to the videotron and to Brodie waiting) COLE Okay Brodie, first question... BRODIE Sorry Cole, this is going to be a one person interview. I don't need your bull(BLEEP) questions to say what I'm goin' to say. First off, this suspension is utter crap. This is wrestling! Damn, you introduce a little violence in a violent enviroment and you get punished? It's like suspending a baseball player for hitting homeruns! If that guy didn't want to get hurt, maybe he should have stayed the (BLEEP) away from the ring! COACH (muttering) Thank god for 7 second delays... BRODIE Aw, did he lose his eyesight? Tough (BLEEP). He should be god-damned grateful I didn't stab out both his eyes for getting in between me and Jenny! Oh, and Jenny? Watch you back (BLEEP), because that $7500 is mine! And wasn't it cute seeing Jenny so rageful last Thursday? Am I suppose to be scared of a girl who I outweighed when I was in elementary school because she got angry? (BLEEP) that (BLEEP). Isn't it just convienant that Jenny challenges me when I'm suspended? Oooooh, aren't you tough? Face it short stuff, you were just trying to save face. There is no way you'd meet me anywhere but a one-on-one straight up wrestling match. I'll give you that, you're a good wrestler. But tough? (BLEEP) no. You wouldn't have the guts. (The crowd suddenly cheers when they see the familiar figure of Jenny Adams emerging from the curtain) JENNY Try me. Brodie, I'll fight you anywhere, anytime, anyplace. I'm am SICK of you and your bully tactics! You don't think I have the guts? I don't think you do! So you know what I did? I went to Josie and told her that I wanted a match with you at License to Pin. Since you're suspended, it'll be unsanctioned! Josie and the OAOAST have NOTHING to do with this. It's just you and me Brodie, anything goes! BRODIE HA! You're on sweetheart. You think you can come out alive from this? Damn, you're making this me collecting money thing a whole lot (BLEEP)ing easier. We'll see what happens to you when you've got no rules to protect you. You're going to die (BLEEP). With that, Brodie rips off her microphone while the camera fades on Jenny's angry face...

OAO WWE released talent/staff thread
CanadianChick replied to MikeJordan23's topic in The WWE Folder
Aw man, I miss Victoria randomly kicking around Chrissy. You know, they've fallen so into the hole with the women's division that they are actually bringing in women indy talent for Heat tapings. When's the last time they did that? -
I'm pretty sure he said he was cleared in August.
