I really am uncomfortable when people use the "he is REALLY hated in a bad way" arguement. Back in the day, people did really hate heels, but they still paid money to see them. I don't think most fans have different degrees of hate. I don't think they say "Well, I hate the character HHH, but I still like the guy. But that Edge, I actually hate him!". I doubt a lot of fans go into those types of complexities when thinking about who they like and dislike. Just because alot of the internet community hates Edge, doesn't mean the rest of the fans hate him to an extent on not going to shows just because of him.

Now normally, logically, I'd say that Edge could get the win because of the Money in the Bank contract. But I just don't think the powers that be are ready to have him as the number 1 heel. If he was champ, and had Lita by his side, we'd have something like the McMahon/Hemsley era in 2000. Is WWE ready for someone other than HHH to have that power heel role though?
-
Ah, it's alright man. My older bro met Edge in 2003 and gave me the autograph, so I got my Edge quota. Thanks for the offer though Matt.
-
No I haven't, unfortunately. And what offer would this be?
-
Better keep that 24/7 title safe! I'll feedback later, but I just had to respond.

Dorothy being black wasn't out of place though. Her whole family was black. It's not like it was a white aunt with an asian uncle having a black neice. I just think they honestly picked who they thought would be best for the role, although I didn't enjoy Ashanti at all.

I don't care about what she did personally, and even without this story, I still don't see any reason to keep her after this angle runs out. I don't think either 3 of the parties should have gotten fired over this in particular though. If they were to get fired, it should be over business related aspects. Maybe that's why Matt did get fired. Maybe WWE thought he was screwing around with business because this story did get leaked on his site.

I've always loved the SmackDown 6 era, and one match I never get sick of re-watching is that fatal four way between Edge, Angle, Eddie, and Benoit. It was a great way to end the era, not counting Angle/Benoit from RR '03 mind you.

Psh, I'll be impressed if it's worse than Jericho.

Oh come on. Matt Hardy, a public figure, couldn't have NOT expected this story to spread after stating it on his website. It was pretty thickheaded of him to post personal life issues that could effect the products (Lita, their top female face, getting booed; "You Screwed Matt" chants) and not expect backlash. I don't care if it is his personal website. If what he posts effects the business he was part of, he's obviously going to get punished, *especially* if the company he works for is not internet friendly sorta speak. Yes, what happened to the guy sucks and is unfortunate, but if he kept his mouth shut about it, he would have not gotten fired and he, in the eyes of management, would have came off as mature.
-
Well guys, logically, after this angle with Edge runs out, the odds of Lita getting fired aren't exactly slim, especially if people don't start popping for her again. She's an awful wrestler, her appeal as a strong female in WWE is gone, she's a bad actress (therefore her heel run, after this intial run with Edge, will be a complete disastor), and isn't the top level of eye candy out there, if you get my drift. She's as good as gone in a year if she's still a heel.
-
Clay, had it not happened to you, would you find it sickening?
-
Well yeah. They're not giving him the title. One hot angle per wrestler.
-
Vince took the screwjob and basically turned it into the Attitude era. Do you find that sickening? A man lost his job and was betrayed by a man he trusted, just to make a profit. It was scummy, yes. But it made money. WWE is ultimately a business, and it has a remote chance of making money, WWE will do it. And to a lot of fans, ie not Hardy fangirls/boys and the IWC, this is just a storyline like Jericho/Trish/Christian. I don't see how you can expect Vince McMahon, of all people, to be respectful of this situation.
-
I don't usually mock fans, because we are all fans, but people in that thread I linked saying how they were sick to their stomaches, ect. is laughable.
-
Hey, let's stop with the whole "which city is better?" arguement, shall we? Who will be the group of Raw wrestlers 'invading' One Night Stand?
-
I don't know if the angle will be Jericho not caring exactly, but more Jericho having more important and better things to worry about. Sorta how Rock, when he was heel, came back and didn't need wrestling because he had Hollywood. Jericho doesn't need wrestling because he has Fozzy.
-
Well, somebody isn't happy with the Lita/Edge angle.
-
Aw, I missed it. What'd they say?
-
I loved how Lita and Edge just seemed to attack each other's mouth at the end. It's like they wanted to top the Christian/Trish kiss from WM XX. Kane's face was priceless. It must be heartbreaking when the woman you raped and forced to marry betrays you...
-
Oh come now. He's held the IC title more than anyone else! 7 times! Whatta honour!
-
Technically this isn't WWE, so consider it moved. But wow, was that boring. That seemed like such a rip-off of Raven, in a very very bad way.
-
It's strange, because I usually just absolutely cannot stand Theory of a Deadman, aka Nickleback rip-offs. But this new song they have, No Surprise, I like it. Huh.

I can honestly tell you I did not think of Mick Foley until you just mentioned him now.
