WWE.com says HHH vs. DiBiase & Rhodes is set for tonight. I don't see it doing any favors for Legacy.

Some PPVs not mentioned so far that were pretty good: Judgment Day 2006 Main event has Mysterio vs. JBL in a decent match, MNM vs. Londrick, and Benoit vs. Finlay in a great match that some how managed to get 20+ minutes (especially strange since this was a last minute add on to the show). The first Taker-Khali match is on this show, however. Unforgiven 2006 Cena vs. Edge in a TLC match, Trish's farewell match vs. Lita, Jeff Hardy vs. Johnny Nitro in a fine match. Nothing is actively bad. Backlash 2007 Probably one of the best top to bottom PPVs since 2004. Only six matches, so everything gets a fair amount of time. The two main events (Taker vs. Batista and Cena vs. HBK vs. Orton vs Edge) are both very good.

WrestleMania Roundtable Part Two: Out With The Old, In With The New
Aero replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
I generally agree with just about everything said about VI, VII, VIII, and X. But I don't completely hate IX. In fact, I usually look forward to watching it each year when I watch all the WM's each year. I'm not going to defend anything, because I can't, as some of the matches are terrible, and so many finishes suck, but I guess it's just the arena and atmosphere that I like. WM VII would be my second favorite WM (VIII is first) of the first ten years. Warrior-Savage is definitely in my top 5 WM matches, and I just think the entire card is really fun. I even like the Blindfold match. I might be the only one, but I think the Instant Replay segment is hilarious ("Wait a minute George... what do you mean fire him? Like... FROM HIS JOB???"), and I was pretty disappointed that it wasn't included on the WM DVD set. -
I've always liked Rudo's character guide from a few weeks into the show.

I don't think so. As Mik said, the timeline doesn't work out. It's entirely possible that Horace had been with and left that woman since Sawyer and friends showed up. Also, where do you get that Horace was the leader of Dharma? I didn't mean that Horace was THE leader of Dharma, but he must have some kind of high rank considering that he was the only decision maker we saw, he (out of the entire camp I assume) was the one to go out and meet with Richard, and I think Sawyer even called him "their leader" when he was watching the tape of him drunk.
-
Wait what? Horace wasn't Ben's dad was he? I thought he met Ben and his dad when they showed up on the island. No, Horace isn't Ben's dad, but when Ben's parents were hiking in the woods somewhere in the US, and Ben's mother went into labor, Roger Workman (Ben's dad) ran to the nearby road for help where he met Horace and his other wife. After that, Ben and his father were recruited to Dharma by Horace.

This episode reminded me of Tricia Tanaka is Dead from Season 3 because it seemed like a huge chunk of the episode was devoted to humor. Still a good episode, but as it's been mentioned, it looks like we can finally move forward now that our three groups have all progressed. I didn't notice Richard's name in the opening credits, so I was actually surprised when he showed up. Sawyer's line about the eyeliner was funny. The fact that Richard showed up in his regular clothes makes me wonder though: What IS the point of the Others/Hostiles dressing all raggedy? When Ben met him as a child, Richard was dressed in the ragged clothes, but he just approaches all the Dharma camp dressed oppositely? Edit: Oh, and I was never aware that Horace was a leader of Dharma. On that note, I guess Horace will be breaking up with Michelle Dessler sooner or later, since he's with the other chick when Ben is born (which should be any day now, technically).

FOUR-TOED STATUE! Edit: Or not...

Looked more like a shitty sharpshooter. Besides, I thought that was the Edgeucator? God his finisher names, outside the Impaler when it's called as such, suck.

I could see them having Cena win here, and then Big Show lobbies for (and gets) a title shot at WM based on him beating Cena last week. Then Edge gets added since the GM is his wife. It's not like Big Show has anything else to do at WM right now.
-
On that note, I think we can add "Don't fight it" to the Jack Bauer catchphrase list.
-
Yes, the drawing of the White House was epic. The first hour was just okay, but the second hour was easily the best episode of the season, so far. Next week looks like it might give it a run for its money, however. Two very scary moments tonight: First Bill Buchanan gets caught in the hallway (based on everyone shot previously, I thought they might swerve us and shoot him), and then Aaron Pierce did actually get shot. I demand full scale war next week with Jack, Tony, Bill, and Pierce vs. the bad guys.

Maybe this person is just watching matches where Chris Benoit gets destroyed by his opponent.

WrestleMania Roundtable Part One: The Early Years (1985-1990)
Aero replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
Having just finished watching all of these except the first one over the last two weeks or so, this was a fun read. My thoughts on the ones I watched: WM 2: This was probably the first time I’ve watched it in probably a good 5+ years. That said, it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. I thought it was more enjoyable than WM 1, anyway. Of all the celebrities, the best is easily guest-timekeeper “Where’s the beef?” old lady, but I was really disappointed that they didn’t have her say the catchphrase. No matter how much plodding action there tends to be in them, I always enjoy battle royals, so that match was fun to watch. The main event was better than I was expecting. WM III: I agree that this WM, more so than any other, gets the rose-colored glasses treatment to the extreme. It’s still a fun show to watch, but the match quality is lacking outside of the obvious one, although I do really like the Bulldogs/Tito vs. Harts/Davis match. Bulldog’s tombstone on Davis is pretty crazy. WM IV: It’s long and boring. Whereas I usually watch just about every WM in the months leading to each year’s WM, I do occasionally skip this one. An 8-man field would’ve worked much better, and I wish they actually had Steamboat advance for a rematch with Savage. Hogan’s pre-match interview with Mean Gene about Trump Towers (with Donald, his family, and all the Hulkamaniacs) falling into the fault line is my favorite Hogan promo ever. It’s just so ridiculous and over-the-top that it’s awesome. For what it’s worth, I like the look of Trump Plaza for WM, but yes, the crowd does suck at times. The same goes for V. WM V: It’s easier to sit through than IV, but it’s still really boring for the most part. The main event and some undercard matches (basically all mentioned above) are decent, but that’s about it. I don’t mind the Piper’s Pit segment, and it has to be said: Brother Love’s Piper impression is spot-on. They’re all good for nostalgia, but none of them would be in my top 5 WM list. WM III would be the only one that might even make the top 10, but then again, I only started watching wrestling in about 1991, so these shows don’t have as big of an impact or entertainment value on me as they would others. I can see why WM III has the reputation it does, though. On a side note, I’m watching these on the DVD anthology sets, and I’ll just point out that no Demolition theme makes me sad. I realize it’s a very minor thing, but stupid stuff like that always annoys me. IIRC, I have edits to look forward to for Dusty, Boss Man, and Godwinns, among others probably. -
Usually after each show. In all seriousness, the last Raw there was indeed the Steiners/Quebecers title change. WWE actually used the venue once since, for One Night Stand '06. Wasn't the ECW invasion Raw in February 97 from the Manhattan Center?

I read a headline on 411mania a few weeks ago that said it was planned for this year. Don't remember what the source was, but it didn't have a timeframe or anything. Either way, I don't see why it wouldn't be expected since the last three have been done basically just about once a year.
-
I don't remember it being mentioned before, but awesome touch by having the crowd wearing classic WWF t-shirts. I spotted the black and white Taker shirt (his giant face on the entire front), classic Bret, and classic Hogan shirts in the Jake/DiBiase video. This game looks like a lot of fun, but I don't think I'll be getting it anytime soon unless the reviews are really good.
-
This one? Yes, of the three themes, I think that one was the best.
-
Clearly it was the $13.06 gift card that sealed the deal. I heard that the even $13.00 was rejected.
-
Didn't they only change Taker's theme from Rollin' to the others to diminish his pop that he was still getting as a heel? It definitely worked when they first made the change, because when he debuted the first iteration of the new theme (sans lyrics), it was AWFUL, and the crowd reacted with dead silence. The theme then got, um, ramped up I guess, and then they added the lyrics. I didn't mind the lyrics, but the middle version of that theme was the best.

If I'm remembering correctly, Jarrett beat Barry Windham (still a New Blackjack at the time) on Raw shortly before the Royal Rumble. Either on the same night, or the following week, Windham turned on Bradshaw and joined the NWA faction. The only title defenses I can remember for Jarrett was against Bradshaw at No Way Out, and I could have sworn he defended against Owen Hart on a Saturday Night Raw the following week. As for the NWA Tag belts, I know the Headbangers held them for a few weeks at one point. I think they beat the Rock 'n Roll Express and then lost them to the Holly & Gunn, but I might be wrong. I've always liked Jeff Jarrett during his WWF runs. Czech's non-gimmick explanation for liking Jarrett during the Aztec warrior phase pretty much is how I was, too. I did like him better once he cut his hair, though.

I honestly don't think it was much more than that. They had to stop the EMP from going off completely in order ot hide the islands presence from anyone trying to find it. Pressing the button every 108min let off a small and undetectable amount of the EMP so that it wouldn't build up and overload. But if it's that big of a deal, then why trust someone who's not an Other (Desmond) to do it for so long? Sure, Desmond was scared once the EMP went off, but it seems far too important a job. Regarding Libby, Cuse & Lindeloff said in an interview that we won't find out any more info about her. I've just been dismissing everything off island for her as spooky Lost coincidences.

I remember at the end of last season, when Sayid breaks Hurley out of the mental institution, he mentions "Bentham's dead". I might be wrong, but Hurley, I think, says something like "Why are you calling him that, just say..." before being cut off. And of course, in that timeline, it's only a day or so before they both actually encounter Ben (as seen in the first episodes this season). It's safe to assume that Jack saw Locke identified as Jeremy Bentham when he came into the hospital, and technically, we only saw Locke's conversation with Kate from midway through.
-
According to Jack in his conversation with Ben at the end of season 4, Locke told him that "some very bad things happened" when the O6 left. Locke didn't say that. Of course, it's entirely possible that Jack just interpreted that, but Locke really only went as far as "We have to go back". I'm just saying, I wouldn't be surprised if the Walt stuff is a plot hole.
