  1. If the permanent plan really is only to have Angle, Rey, and Orton in the WM main event, then does that really leave Taker with Mark Henry? I'm starting to get a bad feeling that either Henry or Boogey Man will cost Taker the match next week to set up a WM match.

THE OAO Raw thread for 2/20/06

So I went to Raw last night. I was in the 9th row behind the commentary table. Yeah, it's been discussed, but I was actually shocked at how much Cena was getting booed. The last Raw in East Rutherford right before NYR he got booed, but I figured that most fans were cheering him again, based on the most recent reactions. So, when he came out at the end, it was mixed at best. Then, after HHH left the ring, he sat in the ring, and the crowd just did almost nothing but boo him. Meanwhile, the camera crew tried to ignore all of it and show all the pro-Cena signs they could possibly find on the titantron. "Cena Sucks" chants followed. Cena grabbed the mic and called out Edge for the dark main event... throwing in that Edge hates Foley. Edge came out and got cheered, so he grabbed the mic and insulted the crowd, telling them that he didn't want us to cheer him. I left at the start of the match to beat traffic. When you know who's winning, it's not worth it to watch.
  3. Would it be worth it to order the replay?
  4. Considering that Smackdown hasn't been very good lately, the card here does have some potential. It just depends on whether certain matches can really deliver. (Taker-Angle, Book-Benoit, Cruiser match). Logically, Benoit should win, but I pick Book to win, likely due to Finlay interference or something. I figure that they've already penciled Lashley in for a US Title match at WM anyway, so he'd face Book more likely than Benoit. I think Orton-Mysterio can be decent too, but it will likely just be completely overbooked with Orton dominating and then yelling shit about Eddie at the Guerreros ringside.

    The WrestleMania Game

I: Ricky Steamboat vs. Matt Borne II: The Funks vs. Santana & JYD III: Can-Am Connection vs. Bob Orton & Don Muraco IV: Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant V: Brutus Beefcake vs. Ted DiBiase VI: Rick Rude vs. Jimmy Snuka VII: Randy Savage vs. Ultimate Warrior VIII: IC Title: Roddy Piper vs. Bret Hart IX: Steiner Brothers vs. Headshrinkers X: Earthquake vs. Adam Bomb XI: Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Lawrence Taylor XII: Yokozuna, Ahmed Johnson, & Jake Roberts vs. British Bulldog, Owen Hart, & Vader 13: New Blackjacks vs. Headbangers vs. Godwinns vs. Doug Furnas & Philip LaFon XIV: Goldust & Luna vs. Marc Mero & Sable XV: European Title Shane McMahon vs. X-Pac 2000: Tag Titles: Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Edge & Christian X-7: WWF TITLE: Steve Austin vs. The Rock X-8: Kurt Angle vs. Kane XIX: Women's Title Trish Stratus vs. Victoria vs. Jazz XX: World Title: HHH vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit 21: Undertaker vs. Randy Orton I've done this at least twice before, so I tried to stray from what I figure I would usually do in order to make something different. The matches that I'm disappointed to have missed are Bret vs. Austin from 13 (my favorite match ever), Bret vs. Owen, and Angle vs. Benoit among others. I feel bad that Angle had to settle for his worst match (with Kane). I missed Flair, Razor, Mr. Perfect, and Diesel. WM XII really screwed me up, as I had already used Warrior in VII, Austin couldn't be wasted with Savio, Taker was lined up with Orton for one of his better WM matches, and Goldust was stuck in WM XIV (which is a match I do like alot). I originally had the Chicago Street Fight for 13, but Ahmed needed to be available for the Six-Man Tag at XII. I reluctantly used the WWF Title (at X7) AND the World Heavyweight Title (at XX), but it had to be done. For XIX, it was either Hogan vs. McMahon or the Women's Title... so I picked the match I liked better. That was easily one of the better women's title matches in WWE. With that, I wanted Hogan at least somewhere, so I stuck him in the match with Andre from IV. Not the best WM card, but it's better than most likely recycling the same card I had last year.

The Shield, season 5, official thread

I just started watching last week, so I'm just getting to know all the characters and what not. With that, can anyone give my a brief explanation for the money ($65 thousand?) that Vic gave to Corrine? I started reading episode summaries at TV Tome.com, but they don't really include the all the info for episodes.

    Smackdown Spoilers for the 2/17

Boy, this place would have exploded two years ago over this. You all have a soft spot for JBL now. Admit it! I admit it. JBL is easily one of my favorites on Smackdown right now, only behind Angle and Benoit.

    Angle's Greatest Rivalries

Like you said, HHH just returned from Austin killing him with the forklift. HHH cost Austin his title match with Angle in his return. From there, Vince just randomly named him as the No. 1 Contender for no reason other than HHH was 'married' to Steph, and Vince was a heel.
  9. I don't hate either WM 2000 or X8, but they're really not good shows by any means. 2000 has the Triangle Ladder Match, a decent Benoit-Angle-Jericho match, and a bunch of other meaningless matches. The four-way was okay, I guess. X8 has Hogan-Rock, which is fun for the atmosphere, and that's it. I do like Taker-Flair, but it's nothing worth going out of your way to watch.
  10. On WWE.com, on the Raw spoilers page, they have a Valentine's Day graphic at the bottom of the page for WWE 24/7. "Dont forget the ones you love..." A Valentine's card then opens up with a picture of Rocky Maivia, and then "Rocky Maivia vs. British Bulldog". The ULTIMATE Valentine's Day present... Rocky Maivia vs. British Bulldog!

Bret Hart To Be Inducted In 2006 HOF

I don't think he sold out. Whenever he even talks about Montreal anymore, he says that he still stands by what he did before and after. He also says that he's over it and wants to move on. I'd say he's participating more for his fans than anything.

Bret Hart To Be Inducted In 2006 HOF

Jim Neidhart. If Austin can't do it, track down Jim. Fuck that "Vince should do it" shit. Vince is the last person who should do it. There was "Vince should do it" shit? I don't think anyone actually thinks Vince should do it, but it's not out of the question. I'd prefer Austin.

Bret Hart To Be Inducted In 2006 HOF

I really don't think WWE would promise a Bret Hart induction and then not deliver since it's April Fools Day. So... who inducts him? Benoit, Austin, or Vince? It is in Chicago, so it could be Austin if they want to play up on WM 13, and if Austin will even be there. Yeah, it's early to predict, but I'd guess Vince.

    ECW Bloodsport

I only remembered it this past weekend, so I went looking for it at Suncoast and FYE since I was at the mall anyway. Neither had it, so I was actually wondering whether it came out yet. I'll buy it eventually.

    I am sick of blading...

Didn't he blade @ mania last year? or was that hard-way? I think it was actually legit. He had stitches from the previous Raw from headbutting Tomko a bunch of times, and he did the same to Kane at WM 21 to re-open the cut, I think.

    Smackdown spoilers?

I'm not offended by it either. I'm actually more annoyed when Rey talks about winning the Rumble and going to WM for Eddie, rather than winning it for the chance to become champion. If he mentioned it once or twice... fine, but WWE and Rey are going overboard. Yeah, I know it's wrong for WWE to have Orton say Eddie's in hell and rip up his book, but Rey is just too annoying. I couldn't be the only one who was laughing at the Rey when he was saying stuff like "You got me, Eddie!" after he drew his number.

    Smackdown spoilers?

Taken from another SD report from 411... Wow.
  19. I think it had something to do with HBK not wanting to drop the title to Vader at Survivor Series, so they switched him with Sid. Vader was supposed to get the title at Series, and that's why the Dec. 96 IYH was nicknamed It's Time.

    WWE announces 2006 DVDs

Definitely an awesome list, and I'll be getting a few of them. I'm shocked that they're making a Pillman DVD... we haven't even gotten a Kurt Angle set yet.

What was your first film experience

I want to say either Aladdin or Jurassic Park, but there may have been something before those.
  22. Well, the Cruiser match was much better than I expected. I was really shocked that JBL jobbed in something like 3 minutes, clean. The women's match sucked. I thought Edge-Cena was decent, but the result was really disappointing. I guess it's safe to say they only put the title on Edge in an attempt to revive Cena's fanbase? I can't believe Mark Henry wrestled the last match on a major PPV. I thought the Rumble match was decent, but nowhere near as good as the past two, or even possibly three going back to 2003. I know it's been said, but Rey's going overboard with his dedication to Eddie. He seemed like an afterthought in the match as well. Goldust's elimination was laughable, as RVD kicked him into the ropes, and then Goldust apparently decided to jump over and out. RVD didn't do anything meaningful either. I was thrilled to see a "I came to see Steve Blackman" sign in the front row, however.
  23. I'm really excited for the Rumble match, but the rest I could care less about. Plus, I've been watching all the Rumble matches this week for the hell of it.

  25. So, will the Cruiser Invitational be like WM XX or No Way Out 05's matches? If so, it'll most definitely suck due to them cramming about five matches into 10 minutes.
