The Post Your Cell Phone Thread

I hate that fucking phone, the Nokia 3120. I got it for free over a year ago because my other one was falling apart, and less than a year later the new one stopped getting a signal or anything, so I had to duct tape my old phone together and use that. What a piece of shit the 3120 is

Well, you people, and by you people, I mean people who have nothing to add to this thread pertaining to the subject should go back to where they came from....which is the threads about random bands I'll never care about

I'm not trying to be a cocky asshole. Its entirely possible that you could beat my ass in the game considering that you, unlike the computer would realize that i only pass out of 3wr sets with a reciever in the slot wheras i do nothing but run with four WR. The momentum thing makes the game a bit tougher than 2006, but i can sit there and pick a formation and totally change the play to something different by the time i hike the ball. I know too much about coverages and whatnot to get beat on AA just because I can read D better than the average person online who plays the game realistically. In all honesty I can't beat anyone online cheeser who will scramble around with their 80+ speed qb just beacuse its something that I've never been able to stop. I'm not even that good compared to the kids I play against which are usually college football players and kids who play video games way too much . But as far as the computer on AA, its not that hard once you pick up on the tendicies of the opponent. Absolutely no way you'd be able to do that past Varsity level. Varsity to All-American a pretty big step up. Finished my season 6-6 with a 48-0 win over SE Louisiana (missed an extra point, sigh). No idea why they were so inept on offense, while other teams with better offensive players can score at will on me. And got the 4 guys I was going after. Things will different next year with my new QB. Oh yes, they will. Suffer Temple and SJSU's of college football!

I would offer to kick your ass online but i dont have my xbox here with me and my ps2 doesnt have the network adapter. Its not that hard to blow out the computer on here when you've played football your whole life and know enough about what routes beat what coverages. For the record I ended up winning something like 48-28, so yes Michigan was able to put some points up on me in the second half, but offensively, there is no way the computer holds me under 35 on AA unless I throw like 4 picks

It is totally possible if you know what you are doing to dominate even the best teams on this game with the worst teams in the game on All-American. Heisman however is a different story as its simply too hard to make up for the shoddy AI which leads to things like running backs not being able to beat defensive tackles to the edge and just absurd shit like that

I haven't played much against the CPU in this game, but i was easily able to just handle Michigan in the the first half of a game with my newly created University of Detroit Titans cupcake team. I'm up 28-3 at the half right now

What level are you guys playing on, some people seem to be having tons of trouble/playing joke schedules and still losing. Are you guys playing on Heisman or do that many of you just suck really bad at this game

Booker T Wins the World Title!

What Felonies is getting at is that Rock's mother is Samoan and his father is Black. Which means he is just as Samoan as he is Black, and I personally don't think that Rock or Carlito would totally want someone shitting on the non-black part of their heritage. In short, basing your race off of your father's heritage and ignoring your mother's is pretty stupid and whomever brought up that point should have kept it to themselves

    MLB All Star Break/Midseason Review

What can I say. The Tigers have the best record in baseball right now. They need to make a few moves possibly in the pen and get a left handed batter and they should be pretty solid to keep up a solid run and contend for a playoff spot the whole way out.

Why would you be pissed. Who wouldn't want Reggie Bush on their team if he pans out to be an All-Pro caliber back which he has the talent to do.

    2006 NBA Finals

That "foul" on Wade was one of the biggest jokes I have ever seen. I didn't think that there was even a foul there at all, and if there was one it was something you would let go in overtime of a tie series in the fucking NBA finals. Wade gets every damn call, and I really am starting to hate this crap, it ruins the integrity of the game when the star player gets every damn call possible

    TWiB 6/12 - 6/18

You have to think bringing in veteran guys like Percival, Orodonez ( whom now healthy is having an All-Star caliber year), and Pudge ( a first ballot HOF catcher) helped in speeding up the development of the younger plays on the team. These are guys who know how to play the game the right way and I don't think that the Tigers would be in a position to contend for a post season berth without what these guys bring in the club house and in spring training and pre-game.

Bad moves.... the Tigers haven't made any bad moves really the last few years. They went from being the worst team in a generation to being in contention halfway through the season. They aren't yet there, but they have put the pieces in place, gotten rid of some shit players, and fixed the farm system. Nothing they have done has screamed, bad move

    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

Well, that can be said for just about any sports team in any market. When the Tigers were losing 100+ games a year, no one went to the games except for when the big name teams or players were in town, but now that they are playing well and have a pretty good record, the entire damn city has suddenly remembered that Detroit is a baseball town first, and now every game the last few weeks has been drawing pretty big crowds. When a team is good, people show up, when a team is awful, those same fair weather fans go back to watching "Friends" or whatever the hell else they were doing instead of going to the games

    NBA Conference Finals

The thing that pisses me off is that it isn't like Miami has been a dominant team, Detroit has just played terribly outside of Game 7 of the Cleveland series. I mean I am not trying to say that if Miami wins this series in 5,6, or even 7 that they didnt deserve it, but this series has been more of bad coaching and poor execution and shooting and even defense from Detroit. A team can get away with shit like that against a team like Cleveland(barely). But against a team like Miami with great players like Shaq and Wade, and legends like Zo, Payton, and solid role players, you can't beat a team like that scoring 78-82 points and shooting under 40 percent especially when you aren't making foul shots at all. You can't complain to the refs about fouls and shit because the foul calls were pretty even last night and have been this entire series. The disparity in foul attempts has nothing to do with the refs or anyone hating Detroit, its them playing shitty defense in key situations and fouling Shaq because thats better than giving him two points. Why Saunders isn't going with a rotation of Wallace, Wallace, Prince, Hamilton, Billups, McDyess, Hunter,Davis, Cato , Delk, and either Evans/Delfino I don't know. You need to play 10 players in the series and its not like Davis or Cato is causing you to lose anything on the offensive end. That gives you a total of 30 fouls to use on Shaq if needed and it keeps the frontline fresh. Also, Saunders has done an awful job of calling timeouts and he goes away from stuff so quickly. Prince had a monster 1st quarter and then it didnt seem like he got the ball again until the fourth quarter. No one on the Heat really can guard him with that backdown baby hook move in the post, yet Saunders chooses to ignore running that or running some sort of variation with a guard cutting to the corner for a three if the double comes. He would rather have Chauncey Billups shooting wild jumpers for no reason, when the offense needs to be run through. Any player who takes as many bad shots as Billups should never be considered an MVP candidate

the Tigers just went insane in the 9th inning. This team just seems to be destined to play well enough this year to get the fans in Detroit believing once again when it comes to baseball. I'm not saying playoffs, but if they are in it come August, tickets will be hard to come by As for Jr. Griffey, he can bitch all he wants as far as i'm concerned. The guy took a 50% paycut to come to Cincinnati, and while he's been hurt a ton, he's still one of the best players in the game when healthy and all the fans in Cincy do is bitch about how he's a bum.

So does anyone else find it funny that after the Heat won game 1 by five points, that ESPN has gone from wow this is going to be a great ECF to the Heat are gonna sweep the Pistons. I hate this kind of journalism. A team loses game 1 and now they are in danger of being swept. WTF ?

School Bans Cell Phones in NY

I mean at what point are students technically still "kids". If a student is 18 and for most purposes an adult, shouldn't that change the way many rules at schools apply to students. The argument that the teachers at my school always made was that when you are in school, "the adminstration and the staff acts as your parents to an extent". At age 18, I was able to vote for school board members and pay taxes and do all these other adult things, but for some reason people think that I can't go through a day of classes without being disruptive with my cell phone. It is an overblown argument, and people who are saying things like kids don't need cell phones, are misguided. Kids don't need television, video games, or countless other technological devices, but the school in some cases endorses the usage of these things on school time

    NBA Playoffs 2006: Conference Semifinals

The funny thing about that series is that Wade played in Game 7 but not game 6, which the Pistons won at home. The Heat have no excuses for not defending home court and I don't think that they will be able to pull this one out without home court advantage simply because I can see Detroit stealing one in Miami to counteract Miami stealing one in Detroit

Which was followed by the awful article he wrote on Page 2 about Lebron. Apparently to Skip, it is Lebron's fault his team shot 9-41 for the entire game. And if I hear one more person talk about how Michael Jordan was better at this stage than Lebron I might stab someone. At age 21, Jordan was just about to be drafted into the NBA. At age 21, Lebron James is arguably the best player in the entire leauge. Also, Bayless's assertion that the Pistons are just a good team is a joke. Their run of 4 straight ECF's and having the chance to win a 2nd title in three years, with their only series loss coming in Game 7 of the Finals is a pretty impressive run that could be compared to the late 80's/ early 90's Pistons who had basically the exact same run and were for sure a great team

I can't believe the Tigers have the best record in the MLB. I'm not predicting playoffs or anything yet, all I want is a winning season. and all they have to do is go 54-66 the rest of the way and they have it

    Paul McCartney

That's pathetic, I don't understand divorce laws, why should a woman, especially in this case, get half of something that she had no part in creating. Paul McCartney made a large amount of his fortune before the marriage and I don't think a woman is entitled to half....unless they legitimately played a part in earning half of what the man is worth. In this case, that isn't true. Especially in this case, where the woman has her own fucking money.

School Bans Cell Phones in NY

I mean, on occaision, it pisses me off when are in a huge lecture hall or even a small class and some skanks "Dont Cha" ringer goes off, but I think cellphones arent as bad as people make them out to be. When I was in high school 3-4 years ago, there was a "ban" on cellphones/pagers, but everyone under the sun had a cell phone, but you never saw people in the hallways on the phone or anything like that. I also think that its much eaiser for parents to be able to contact their children directly in case of emergency. For example, my senior year during finals, someone decided that blocking my driveway would be a good idea, and I'm freaking out because I have a final in like 15 minutes and my school is 10 mins away and plus I still have to drob off my brother and sister at the middle school which is an extra ten minutes. I call my mom, asking her what I should do as far as either getting the car out of the way, or getting a ride to school, which sucked because my dad was out of town at that point. So, I find the person who is blocking the driveway, ask them to move, and go about my business. Now fast foward 45 mins, it is almost halfway through my exam, I am at my locker putting my books away trying to make it to class, and my phone goes off. Keep in mind there is no one in the hallway and I'm not by any classrooms. My mom is calling to make sure everything ok, and of course I have to take the call just to let her know that everything is fine, and whatnot. So as I am taking the call, the very large special education teacher decides that this is a good time to confiscate my cell phone. Being on the phone with my mother, I simply go hold on, this teacher is trying to take my phone, want to talk to her. My mom berates the lady about how this way an emergency and she has no right to take my property that I own, blah blah blah. The teacher still takes my phone and threatens to write me up on my second to last day of high school ever. I simply laugh at her, and tell her to go ahead and write me up. 4th hour comes, and I pick up the phone from the Asst. Principal while I am working in the office. He explains to me how illogical it is to have such a rule about cell phones in place and that enforcing it when a student is talking to a parent was probably not the best action. Long story short, I don't feel that someone should be able to tell me, in a public school, that my parents tax dollars help fund that I can't use my cell phone in an emergency or even carry one on me. As far as them being used for cheating, it would be so blatantly obvious if someone is text messaging or constantly checking their phone during an exam that I would find it hard to believe that any teacher would not notice it. I can understand punishing students who go overboard with it, meaning talking in class or whatever, but for the average kid who only uses their phone for legit reasons or when they are off campus at lunch, it is a pointless idea to ban them, because people will bring them anyway.
