Yeah, it's awesome. I had sort of written these guys off after two mediocre albums (The Boy With the Arab Strap and Fold Your Hands, Child...) but the two since then have been the best work they've ever done.

The top 4 seeds are reserved for division winners, while the 5 and 6 seeds belong to the two wild card teams. So given that Tennessee has already won that division, Indianapolis couldn't possibly get a bye. Pretty basic stuff.

I'd be shocked if he left Tennessee, personally. They'll give him his money, plus he has the chance to be on a team that should (it's the NFL, so who knows) be good for a while. If they can get a legit #1 WR and Vince Young can get his head out of his ass, that team could be downright scary.

This past weekend's snow event wasn't especially noteworthy, as my little corner of the world topped off at about 1 1/2 inches. My brother-in-law, who had spent his entire life in Florida prior to moving here, was a lot more enthused by the whole thing than I; he insisted on doing all of the snow-related things children generally do after much more significant snow events, like building snowmen, having snowball fights, making angels, etc. I was sort of embarrassed for the guy. We're supposed to get more tonight/tomorrow/Thursday, and then some more on Sunday. I'm told that this is unusual for this part of the country.

You're probably right, although if Dallas were to lose this week and ATL/TB both won, there's a very real possibility that the game would be free of playoff implications by kickoff. Were Atlanta to beat St. Louis and Tampa to beat Oakland in week 17, both Dallas and Philly would be out of the playoffs.

I hope Baltimore beats the life out of Dallas on Saturday night, just to spare us another goddamn primetime NFC East game the following Sunday. Were NBC to "flex" into week 17's Dallas-Philadelphia game, that would give Dallas six primetime appearances this year, in addition to the countless nationally-televised late games they've had on FOX, plus the Thanksgiving game. And this for a team that could easily miss the playoffs! It's too much, it's too much.

A pitiful 8-8 for the week. 138-86 for the season. Good thing I'm not putting money on any of these games.

Yeah, I was really excited to see Harley lose and the Lonestars win. That this Lonestars person (not sure which poster it is) started Culpepper suggests that the person might not being paying much attention. Advantage: Cleveland Steamers. I feel a Marvin-Kinetic clash of titans coming on in the final.

It's starting to look like Carolina might be the best team in the NFC. Could be a pretty epic game next Sunday night, although not if the Giants of the last two weeks show up. If the road to the Super Bowl goes through the hallowed grounds of Bank of America Stadium, I don't see the Panthers losing in the playoffs.
