Pizza? I'm pretty sure a lot of people have. They're in Southern California, at least, that's where I saw them. Also very prominently featured in South Park. You know what pizza place I haven't been to in forever is Godfather's. There's like one of them in so cal, right by Disneyland, and my dad wouldn't let us go there anymore after somebody was smoking a joint out front once. Also right next to Disneyland is Po Folks, another great place. There were a lot of them back east, but that one by Disneyland was the only one in the west I knew of. They had excellent sweet tea, which you could have as much of as you wanted while you waited for a table. I guess it was like... soul food or something. You know, fried chicken, catfish, cornbread, that type of thing.

I don't really see Bateman as a product of his environment so much as commentary on it. Bookwise at least, there's some evidence of him being born, not made.

I didn't see it! I really wanted to, but as I only watch dvds, I don't get tv at all where I live. I was going to watch it at somebody's house, but that fell through.

I saw the latest Harry Potter movie the other day. I'm sure there was a thread about it, but it's been out a long time, and I don't know where it is, so I'll just say here that it was really good. The reason I waited so long was that I couldn't find anybody to go with me. I do know some people who would have, but I could never get the scheduling right, so finally I was like "This has to be the last week it's going to be showing. Fuck it, I'll go by myself." Which I did. And I was glad I did. (When I'm alone, it's ok to cry.) You know what my complaint is? Same problem I had with the casting of Hermione has been repeated with the casting of Luna Lovegood. The girls are too pretty. Hermione is written as plain and Luna as weird looking, but they're just pretty little girls. And Cho Chang, who is written as beautiful, is just some random ass Asian chick. What the fuck? Dudley is growing up to look like Nick Frost. I was very impressed with Helena Bonham Carter, and continually so with Ralph Fienness. The set design was also jaw dropping. Good flick.

Me too, man. Me too. I will also add that unless Jingus' saw that S & M rape with his own eyes it is absolute bullshit. I don't care how many witnesses she had. You try dragging a guy into your room and tying him up when he doesn't want it to happen. Hell, try doing that to a girl. If that story happened, the reason the guy left her alone was that he got what he wanted. Oh she might have spun it to herself like she scared him off, but that's wishful thinking. That's one of the stupidest stories I've ever heard.

Yeah, but Checker's and Rally's have a racecar theme anyway, so it's not surprising. They've actually done NASCAR tie ins before. You know what was really good there was the Jim Beam burgers. Probably DePalma's third best film. I think it was actually the Geto Boys who popularized it. But one of them is actually named Scarface, so it makes sense. Scarface's solo album Mr. Scarface is Back is actually pretty cinematic, and loosely tells the same story of making it to the top selling drugs and then falling. I'll let him get away with it. But no one else.

I gotta say no, that's a fine thing to think. I often equate drugs and religion. I am utterly and completely insane, I am just placed in a position where I can't not admit that. But, I think that everything I think is the most rational resolution to everything, and everyone who doesn't agree is just crazy. Why? Drugs is a good answer. You know the most potent drugs are the ones that come from our own body.

There's a Full House about exactly that, with Jesse and Stephanie except Stephanie's friend is being beaten instead of raped. Steph eventually sees the light, which means that your friend is officially stupider than Stephanie Tanner.

Combining two scenes, there. The kid who spray paints him is when he turns off the fire hydrant the kids were playing in. Also, they weren't trashing the store for no reason, they were robbing it at the behest of their coach (who was read the miranda rights after being shot in the head). I'm not sure if it was a gimmick or they were supposed to be an actual baseball team.

Shit. Robocop is my second favorite movie, and I already have the barebones, the boxset and the out of print Criterion Collection, which is mostly the same as the box set version, except it's a different commentary. They're both good commentaries. Now I have to buy this. This is one movie I feel compelled to own in every version they release, the other being my first favorite movie, TCM.
