Bravo's The 100 Scariest Movie Moments
Nighthawk replied to CBright7831's topic in Television & Film
Hm, not too much unknown. You already know what the movie's about before you watch it. Probably would be about the scariest thing in the world if it actually happened to you, watching it not so much. By that logic, though, no movie is scary. Before you see Halloween, you know it's Michael Myers (or at least know it's a 'boogeyman') Same with Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm St. Before you see The Exorcist, you know it's Satan. And I meant the unknown to the character. Not us, as the viewer. Well yes, but I don't find those movies too scary either. Not having seen this program myself, I assumed they had perhaps cited fear of the unknown in regards to it's presentation to the audience. Your point is valid, in that the unknown is scary, and it's not often utilized in that manner, but it isn't the only thing that's scary. Good example of it's use in a movie, Jeepers Creepers, that's why the first half was pretty good and the second half wasn't. -
No, I also liked Real American.

That was the only wrestling theme I ever liked, that and Dude Love. And it's not the type of thing I'd expect to like.

If by you, you mean you, then yes.

Hey, if they liked it, good for them.

Scariest part of that movie I always thought was when it ate that one guy with the kid watching and you see his leg floating down to the bottom. The leg wasn't scary, I mention it so you know which one I mean. That scene had a kind of mood where you know something bad's happening but it's too quick and there's too much going on so you can't quite get your head around it before it's over. I find that a very unsettling sensation. Think that was the first clear view of the shark you got, as well. Sharks can be some scary bitches. Prehistoric, you know, and primal, and when you encounter them it's in their element and not yours. Probably about the scariest natural creatures under the right circumstances. -

Right, so which moment was it from Jaws? That probably is the scariest movie. I mean, people quit going to the beach, yeah, it had kids afraid to sit on the toilet. -
You guys are idiots. What the hell do you care what these people said?

XXX is not a real rating, it was invented by the porn industry. The MPAA used X, but it's been discontinued in favor of NC-17. X was the only rating you could give yourself, so porn movies were self rated and not submitted to the MPAA obviously. The association of X with porn is what caused them to drop it.

You know how sometimes when people play guitar they hop up and down? I hate that. It's not just in videos, but sometimes it is.

You know, she's got some big shoulders.

That's his style, he's funny. Will Smith was never the mean kind of rapper... but he's one of a few people with enough charisma to hold his own in the court of public opinion. Still... he's won this feud already. He brought Coolio in. If Eminem responds, he can come back with MC Hammer, and Marky Mark and Vanilla Ice and Tone Loc. It's like the Bad News Bears. Everybody loves the underdog.

I have a shirt with the confederate flag on it that says "If it ain't redneck, it ain't sheet."

That sounds good. This will be good for both guys.

Talkin to me? I was saying that reading Jaxl's poem, I thought it was Morrison's, till I got further and saw certain things. I was telling Jaxl to take it as a compliment that I confused it with something his idol would write. No, talking to him. A roundabout way of saying they weren't great. Holding it up to Axl Rose standards though, that's better.
