DIMEBAG DARRELL SHOT ONSTAGE IN COLUMBUS, OH

You know, this really had me laughing. What a strange thing to get out of a thread such as this.

Now noticing that there's a poster named BrokenWings, you know Slayer's original name was going to be Mr. Mister. What a shame he decided against it, they would have made quite the pair.

It should have been somebody better, because that's about the coolest way to die. He stole the best death from someone more deserving. Oh yeah, I'm also in tears. Rest In Piss.

    Dude, where's my board?

    I will. I really won't, but we'll pretend I did.

We have El Pollo Loco. They don't serve burgers, though.

Well, iB was banned for being Gheyme, which he wasn't, so this should fit right in.

For the record, I do think it's a pretty weak track, although it's hilarious.

This is one of my absolute favorite album covers. I didn't include it in my top 10 thread recently as it's not really a standalone, it kind of requires you to know who Mike and Rich are (U-Ziq and Aphex Twin, for the uninformed). Oh hey, Thumbtack, you'd like this album. My thoughts on the Twin are well established here, and U-Ziq is, while not on his level, quite phenominal in his own right. This album is them goofing off and being funny. Expert Knob Twiddlers.

    Dude, where's my board?

You know, it was my birthday a couple weeks ago and nobody made me a thread. A couple people sent me pms... I don't know if that's better or worse. They want to share intimate birthday wishes with me away from the hustle and bustle of the board. Is this board... my true family?

Baptized In Dirty Water lives up to it's distinction as a sequel. If you like MTA, you'll like it as well, but it's probably not going to provide any new insight. I pretty much look at them as a double album, with BIDW being slightly worse due to the remixes and such. I think that's fair considering how quick he put it out, and that he acknowledged it as a direct sequel. His work with Crooked Lettaz is probably better technically, but Grey Skies isn't put together as well as either MTA. He'd be better off putting more effort into Crooked Lettaz, but he probably won't. He's basically a one trick pony as yet, which is ok for an album or two... but unless he shows some inovation next time out, I'm writing him off.

    Important issue

I would not. He's overly loquacious.

What Wu Tang did do was get rap away from the G-Funk thing, but that's due more to RZA's production than anything else. It's interesting that rap's broader direction is usually dictated by producers rather than rappers themselves. Dre's G Funk, RZA's minimalism... and now Lil Jon. Better get used to it, friends. He's a revolution.

Who Courtney Love hired to murder Cobain, then had hit by a train. You know.

Let's see, Kool Keith was around before ODB, Lil Jon isn't a rapper, and if anything, ODB owes his style to Flavor Flav. Yeah. They probably believed him when he said Wu Tang was for the children.

Say "I been there and I don't like how your mother runs the place." Il Duce said that on Springer.

Motherfuck that nigga. Motherfuck that bitch. I'm not talking about you anymore, I'm recollecting. I remember when Lil Jon first broke on the scene, people were saying he sucked cause he couldn't rap and only said three things. For one, he's not even really a rapper, he's a producer. I mean, Jesus, talk about talking like you know shit.

Yeah, but you still didn't recognize bia when you heard it. That was the name of one of his first big singles, you know. "Bia Bia".

yes you can. i could name a dozen movies with horrible politics that i love. I know you can. I do listen to white power groups. I didn't say you can't divorce politics from the album, I said you can't divorce it from the issue, meaning that politics play a role in how an album (or movie as the case may be) is received. How that plays out is an extensive discussion. Listen to Angry Aryans, guys. They're really good.

That's cause it's college. Somebody could have recorded themselves taking a shit and it would have been number 1 if they said they were shitting on Bush.

You can't divorce politics from the issue. If you could, a lot more people would be listening to white power bands, because many of them are pretty good. That's not it though, that's a shitty album on it's own.

That's Bia. That establishes you as too white to listen to that kind of music, invalidating your opinion.
