Craig Kilborn?s replacement on the Late Late Show
Nighthawk replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Everybody loved Kilborn when he was on the Daily Show. -
Almost the entirety of Me & My Brother is better, and even that doesn't come close to "Let's Go". That is pretty good though.

You can't realy "collect" CDs and DVDs unless you're buying them for their own sake, and not to watch/listen to whatever's on them. That would be like saying you collect food and clothes. I collect edged weapons.

I thought I would have exposed the idiocy of anyone not liking "Let's Go" by now... that was the best song of the year. I have no idea what the worst is... even when I don't like something, it's not like there's degrees, it's just "This is good." and "This isn't." Maybe "Sunshine" by Lil Flip cause it was a pretty good album, and that being the hit single threw the whole thing off. "Game Over" was top 10 songs this year as well.

Do the DXM with DMX. -
General Chat doesn't really serve a purpose on this board anymore.

Half of Xtina's Stripped is her saying how she's the cat's pajamas and if you say she's not it doesn't matter because she's better than you and your words make her even better than that. But then, nobody was saying much before she went into Stripped mode anyway, so I wonder if it was like rain on your wedding day or if it was a conscious preemptive strike. Truth is, it's really a pretty sharp album, a better version of what Pink tried to do with M!ssundaztood. The album still gets beat up because her image is unpopular and her persona unnaceptable to some... which is again, exactly what she said on the album. One of the larger cases of "Shut up, you pretentious baby. Wait a minute... she's right." since Marilyn Manson. I'm not sure how much was by design, but Stripped is one of the more avant-garde pop albums I've seen.

How so? It wasn't bad, but in keeping with the first post, I was hoping for more. It's Mos' own fault, pretty much, for setting the bar so high. When you've got Black Star and Black On Both Sides under your belt, not to mention letting a fair amount of time pass between albums, of course expectations are going to be astronomical. And, on paper, New Danger looks like it should meet and exceed said expectations. In actuality, it came off rambling and disjointed, without ever really drawing together the elements of a great album, which were present. In light of this, it was also overlong.

See if they'll card you at the gay bar. -
Speaking of album of the year, you're right, as far as hip hop albums anyway. It might have given Thug Matrimony a run if it was trimmed a bit.
-
I like it.

Well, I'm not him, but here's what I think: unless you want to compare pop to pop, it's apples and oranges anyway, and "Cry Me A River" (and "Rock Your Body", for that matter) is a better pop song than many of those songs are of their respective genre.

Heeding Incandenza's advice, I didn't spend any money on anymore Microphones albums, but I heard somebody else's copy of It Was Hot And We Stayed In The Water and found it ok but dull. He was probably right.

Kotz would like everyone to call him...
Nighthawk replied to IllustriousOne's topic in No Holds Barred
I don't think so, but my tastes in that genre are much more discerning than yours. -
I don't think your name is accurate anymore. When's the last time you "ranted" about anything?

You sicken me. -
Death was on sale today.

And I'm not talkin bout meatballs, I'm talkin bout steak!

Ten Years After is pretty good. Classic rock is a largely neglected genre, unfortunately suffocating under the mud shark stinking corpse of Zeppelin.
-
I also listen to the Smiths. But I'm comfortable with who I am.
-
Eh, they weren't so bad. Had that Nelly meets CB4 meets Wile E. Coyote vibe going.
-
It's because you're gay, like Incandenza and me. That's what Marilyn Manson says, anyway. Seriously, there's a chapter about how you're gay if you like the Smiths in his book.

Incandenza's voice makes me laugh so hard. I want to meet him and take a picture of us standing side by side with our arms around each other. It will be the new goatse.cx
