Oh, I don't take offense as that's precisely the reason I recommended it. I did say you can leave whether or not the art part works up to you, but since you've brought it up, I'll come out and say I don't particularly think it did. But, as you've seen firsthand, it will get a pretty strong reaction out of you one way or the other. I love that kind of stuff for it's own sake, and I know there's a few others here who at least moderately enjoy it. Anything that will get such a strong reaction is worth seeing in my book, though I'm not trying to trick anybody or anything. I think I adequately described it so that anyone who goes and sees it will know they're in for a pretty sick movie.

is my recommendation. It's an Austrian movie about a family being tortured by a couple of sadistic young chaps. It carries the gimmick of one of the tormentors giving an occasional aside to the camera, which is supposed to chastise the audience for their consumption of vile material such as this. Whether it works on that level, you can decide for yourself. It has a genuine ability to disturb. It has a TCM like relentlessness, but in a much more subdued manner. Probably best described with this quote I saw on a (negative) review on IMDB: "The feeling of the picture is that of a hundred-minute-long extended dance remix of the ear-slicing in RESERVOIR DOGS." By the way, Clownhouse sounds great and I'm totally seeking that out.
