It wouldn't surprise me, no. It was that A) Their references are usually blatantly overt, and B) They had an agenda with their album titles, it didn't seem like the place to make a throw away wrestling reference. But I dunno. "I Don't Care" was a good idea for a song, but I didn't like the hook. "Entire world is falling"? What are they, 12 years old?

There is a deeply entrenched, hidden irony in that. Try to find it. Fine, I'll just tell you. He spelled it like the Hitchcock movie, and Hitchcock was fat. Bam.

Eh... Gheyme HotTicket

Here's a couple annotations of Watchmen, should anyone be interested in delving fairly deep into the series. They're pretty extensive. All that symmetry and stuff is discussed. One Two

Screwballz! - The show where IDRM has sex with contestants and rates their bedroom skills on a scale of 'Cold Fish' to 'Caliente!' Every show closes with the opportunity to buy videos such as "Too Hot For TV! Outakes", "'So You Wanna Be a Screwball?' Auditions and Bloopers" and volumes 1 through 10 of "Screwballz Jr. High Casting Couch", plus my patented "IDRM Sez You A Cold Fish!" t-shirt. But in the end it turns out to be a dream and I wake up next to Bob Newhart.

You can find women if you're fat, but it's going to be a fetish. So they'll only want you for your fat. But still, you'd probably have better luck with women being fat than thin. At least if you're fat, that's a verifiable selling point. You can say "You want fat? Well, I got it." If you were thin, you probably still wouldn't be particularly attractive. Most people aren't. But on top of it, you'd have no hook. So, in conclusion, stay fat to get chicks.

Only two kinds of people don't care about ws and fs. People who don't understand what it is, and idiots. I won't venture to say which one you are, Choke. But anyway, you should just trade it back in for the ws. I do it all the time if I get the wrong one by accident.

You know, it's not called Charlie and the Chocolate Facotory. THat's the name of the book.

I kinda think it did... well, it didn't need it, but I didn't find it out of place, since everything in the story has a mobius strip thing going on, parallels and repetition being a big thing. Plus all the stuff with referential significance to the story tucked in around every corner. Whether that's a good or bad thing is subjective, but it is a major presence in the book. I could see the argument that the pirate comic was too overt. I'd read pirate comics like that on their own though.

I can't wait to see chave's elaborate joke, which is to say, poster tournament.

That's pretty common, it happens to everyone I know. At least the one's I've slept in the vicinity of. I like to get people to say stupid things in half sleep. "What's the tallest mountain in the world?" "The Nile." Dumb shit like that.

Funny, I'm in the middle of reading it again right now. I love it. I really know nothing about comics as an industry, I just read things cold that people tell me are good, so I'm looking at in a vacuum. Alan Moore staggers me. I try to read everything he wrote that I can get my hands on, and while I'm not close to exhausting his catalogue, I have read quite a bit. It's the best thing he ever did, and that's saying something, cause I love the guy.

Garbage Pails Kids is gone, for real. It's a shame. Well, not really. It was pretty terrible. But important. I still have my original tape and have since picked up a bootleg dvd though. Anyway, many many movies are this way for me. I kind of got into the era and have tracked down a lot of stuff I liked, it's a bit of a hobby. I just recently wrote a little bit about Little Monsters on SNKT. I'll copy that here. I watched the 1989 Fred Savage/Howie Mandel movie Little Monsters yesterday for the first time since... well, 89, I guess. If you're unfamiliar, it concerns Fred befriending a monster who shows him a good time in the no parents monster world under the bed, and they cause mischief and get other kids in trouble. I wanted nostalgia (got it) and thought I might have a laugh at the goofy 80sness, but I was surprised by it actually being pretty good for what it was. It was no Goonies, but I enjoyed it in a completely unironic sense. I watched it with my 13 year old brother, and he liked it as well. Daniel Stern playing Fred Savage's father is pretty cool too. I hadn't heard of a dvd release, but it seems fairly recent, as I'll usually run through the kid's section when I'm at the store in case I find anything from my childhood, and only noticed it this week. If you saw this and forgot about it, I'd recommend giving it a second look.

That's what he wanted you to think.

Marney will be insulted by being nominated. Which is good, she's cute when she's insulted.
-
Oh, I get it. *wink wink*
-
Well, he got it a little bit. Not getting it at all would be thinking that Bond was gay.

I'm not so sure about the timing for this. I mean, what has anybody done recently? As long as I'm in it though, it has my full support. Step back, wanna kiss myself.

Ah... Frig Thumbtack I might have said Nevermortal, but it would be tacky, considering he said me. I'm sure somebody will though... edit: Since they already took Thumbtack, fuck it. Nevermortal, officially.

I'd make out with that man. I thought you were that man.

I've been known to sleepwalk as well. And talk, occasionally. Once I went to bed at, oh... 10 or 11 pm, woke up at 6 the next night. I thought it was 6 am. Took me a while to realize it was getting darker instead of lighter. I'd been up a few days.
