Ok, for the second time though, it's no more of a remake than Disney's Beauty and the Beast was of Cocteau's. Especially since the setting is completely changed. You can throw all consideration of Kubrick and his movie out the window.

Alex was originally much younger in the novel. Although I doubt the movie would get made if they had a thirteen year old raping women and commiting acts of violence. Just make him 15 or 16. That could get made. Most all of Larry Clark's movies were like that.

I could probably deal with Rant, AoO, or Frigidsoul. Inc seems like someone I would know casually, but it seems that each of us present a veneer of falsehood to the general public, so it's somewhat hard to judge.

At least in Total Recall you could fight as a skeleton behind the x-ray scan, and jump through it. Well, you couldn't jump through it, but they showed you doing it. I loved that.

I used to hate mushrooms, now I half like them. If they're cooked with something, it's fine, but I won't eat them alone, or if they're the focal point of the meal. Last night I ate at the McDonalds of Italian restaurants, Olive Garden. That's not a knock on their food, just their image. I had a Russian waitress, which was different. I find that in ethnic restaurants, they'll usually hire someone who looks to be of the same ethnicity, or just nuetral. Anyway, I had a shrimp and crab ravioli, and it was good. I had wine with it, something I don't often do, because the first glass was free.

I'm painfully not with it when it comes to Zappa. I like him, but I'm just not putting any effort into it. Joe's Garage is all I got.

It was a problem then. They should get a kid to play it. That would probably make it more controversial and interesting.

It seems the fact that it was a book is forgotten. They aren't really remaking the "original" then, they're making a new movie with the same source material. Fine, happens all the time. But putting that aside, I don't like remakes any more than the next guy, but I don't particularly hate them either. They'll either be good or they won't. Either way, any change to the perception of the earlier version will only be registered by people who would call you a loser for caring. And fuck them.
