I did not know this. Was there some kind of buyout of the other company of has it always been like this? I remember seeing Hardee's in Florida but never seen a Carl's Jr. until I went to Oklahoma. It hasn't always been that way, I don't think. I remember when Hardee's adopted the Carl's Jr star logo. I did know they were under the same corporate umbrella, but the menus are slightly different. Hardee's, for example, doesn't have the western burgers (onion rings and bbq sauce), and Carl's Jr doesn't have roast beef I believe, and least that's how it is at the ones I've been to.
