Lon Chaney Sr. was born Leonidas Frank Chaney. I collect awesome names, it's something of a hobby. That's one of my favorites. Jr. was Creighton Tull Chaney.

Can't do it. I can't view my friends in a sexual context no matter how hot they are. I mean, sure, I can jerk off thinking about them (and trust me, if you are female, and I know you, I have), but it's just not the same as actually lusting after them. -

5 Year Anniversary of the Great TSM Crash

Loss was a fag, and I say that as a guy who's sucked a bag of dicks. -
Yes, I read "Everything's Eventual"... well, actually, I listened to the audio book. But yeah, Stephen King has this bizarre attachment to mini-series, and his film adaptations are not that good, lots of his shit could get remade. My favorite book of his is IT. Unfilmable, but they could do better than what they had... except for Tim Curry, he was spot on perfect. Salem's Lot was an ok tv one. The Shining is obviously the best, it's better than the book, and it's a good book. I also like Pet Semetary a lot, it's pretty ugly.

I have read the Bachman novel. I'm a pretty hardcore Steve King fan, I read everything he does, but I kind of fell off after he got run over, except for Cell and I still need to finish the Dark Tower. But yeah.

Hm, yeah, that reminds me, a lot of remakes I consider good are really unfair to compare to the original, so I don't. The Fly is a good example. To quote Pickles: "That's... that's different thing!" Both good, though.

That's a lot of it. Those scenes were pretty bitch, and felt fairly real, even reminding me of my own childhood a little [of particular note is I've heard several people complain that there was too much cursing... that's really how people fucking talk!]. I thought Sherri Moon did a great job, and I don't think much of her as an actress (or I should say, didn't before that.) I think Loomis came off better. While I like Donald Pleasance, I think Malcolm McDowell is well, maybe a bit better, more charismatic. He had more to work with at the very least. Now the concept of Michael as this unstoppable killing machine, I never thought that rang true, and I think the Zombie version really hit that well. They show him being described as such by his doctor, complete with shitty/in poor taste paperback, yet as we see him as a child, we can easily understand and sympathize with him. This comes back later with Loomis sort of being forced to confront his failure. There were also just a lot of personal touches of stuff I liked, ie the douchebag guards at the sanitarium, "I'm Joe Grizzley, bitch!", stripping to "Love Hurts" although I know that wasn't source music, and I found a lot of the cast more appealing. There were lots of people I'm a fan of in cameos, such as Udo Kier, Clint Howard, Bill Moseley, Danny Trejo et all. Anyway, the silent killer stuff is kind of a wash, and then I loved the ending to death. That's what I like to call the "crazy forever" ending, that being; you just don't come back from that, you're crazy forever. Exemplified by The Mist from the same year, and the original TCM. So yeah, good film on it's own merits, struck a more personal chord with me.

Clown college? You can't eat that.

Now that's a remake I wouldn't mind seeing: Running Man. Man, I could fantasy cast the shit out of that... And I actually don't consider the remake of The Ring to be better than the original, in fact not even close, though I do like. About the only remake that was better than the original (aside from remakes of silent era films and such) is Rob Zombie's Halloween, but save your breath, we've had that discussion before. Even if they are inferior, which they usually are, it doesn't particularly bother me. I mean... we're not sacrificing anything in any real tangible way here.

I'm not pissed off, but you do seem to shit all over every remake.

See? This is what happens when it becomes socially unacceptable to hit women. I'm not talking Bing Crosby beatdowns, but a smack across the mouth once in a while kept this shit from happening. -
"Why bother when..." Man, I never want to hear your opinion on a remake again. It's the same every time. Some people can enjoy both, and yes, I will be watching Death Race.

What/when was that? "The Omen" from Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood

Yeah, I think that's what Sam is doing, but in any case, Lakeview Terrace is a must see.

She's uber lovable. Maybe not just from her posts here, but she's always made me want to hug her. -
Conversely, a schoolmate of mine legitimately mispronounced Niger as "nigger" and got in trouble for it. Unfair.
