Danny, you're a little bit of a fuck up, though not to where I would think bad of you as a person (like Jingus). That's odd, because I used to legitimately be intimidated by you as the coolest poster here. I think it was your elitist musical attitudes that did it.

Looking back on it, I think Fun House is really the anchor that ties my whole draft together. That really is pretty much the perfect rock album.

Nah, that's what I do with my music career. I long ago gave up expecting to make any money, I just do it for fun. But I actually would like to find an audience for my films. And if I did, that would give me the means to put out albums that nobody in their right mind would want to listen to.

Oh it is, I just think "nihilist Clerks" is easy to sell. Kinda like how Tarantino wrote Reservoir Dogs because you could make it on a shoestring budget when True Romance and Natural Born Killers were probably better ideas. My 50s one is all in the execution. Believe me, I'd make it work. This is sort of extended from my Stephen King fandom, particularly The Body/Stand By Me and Sometimes They Come Back. Like that, but with a Milky attitude.

From the concert thread, I was going to digress and talk about Diamanda Galas for a minute, but it got too long, so it goes in here. Re: Diamanda Galas, at her best she basically looks like a witch. This is appropriate. She's gothic in the classic sense of the word. She's an absolutely phenomenal singer, and many of her albums are just beyond description, for example The Litanies of Satan which contains a version of the poem and another track called "Wild Women With Steak Knives", which is essentially her screaming her head off. She one uped this by releasing Schrei X, which is an album of her shrieking and screaming with no musical accompaniment. I paid $40 for her out of print albums Divine Punishment/Saint of the Pit, which are recitations of old testament prophecy and stuff about the Antichrist in Latin. Possibly the creepiest album I own. If you want to check her out, which I recommend, I'd definitely say download The Singer on which she performs blues and gospel classics. Probably her most approachable. If you just listen to one song, I'd suggest her version of "I Put a Spell On You" (that's her on the piano, too). The cover of The Singer is a glamour shot of her, looking as good as she's capable of, but still scary. If you look closely, you'll see "we are all hiv+" tattooed on her knuckles. She's very involved with AIDS research and the like. Her brother has it. Plague Mass, a concept live album about AIDS, and one of my favorite albums covers ever.

Well, I really only like Roth's film maker/rock star posturing, but I suppose you could just as easily credit Tarantino for that. I'm actually writing something now that's basically a pitch black comedy about retail jobs. Sort of like Clerks meets Falling Down. I think it won't cost very much and will be easy to relate to, so I'm hoping it has some legs. If I had my druthers I'd make a period piece about hookers and a serial killer set in the 50s American midwest. My 50s idea is the one I hold onto.

I've also noticed that some Subways charge straight up $5, and some charge $5 plus tax.

A nice balance of stuff that wouldn't seem to go together such as Aphex Twin/early Beatles, but actually yeah, I'd totally listen to those back to back. Or possibly simultaneously. 2. Edwin 3. MiB Edwin gets the edge because of the 90s gangsta rap and Prince.

You could name him Shaft. John Shaft. I'm pretty sure I'd go the weird names route if I had children. I'd have a daughter named Marney Leena. Or possibly Marleena.

Pretty badass. It's up there with my ideas of "FAST CARS" and "GREY HULK".

I also don't like teeth extraction, which is why the most disturbing movie for me is likely The Dentist. People don't know why I hate it, but that's why. I just realized too... that was with Corbin Bernsen. And then you had Dr. Giggles with Larry Drake. LA Law connection.

Metro suffered from being advertised as a comedy when it wasn't at all. Kinda like Falling Down.

I actually didn't see Dreamgirls, although it is on my list of things to see. As he's a supporting actor in that, though, I wouldn't really think of it as an Eddie Murphy movie. Didn't care for Bowfinger.

For not much of a reason... That's my favorite French film ever, even better than Baise Moi. The bleakest thing I've ever seen in my life. Watch this film twice, and you'll have a deeper understanding of nihilists. Watch it three times and you'll be one.

While I don't think it really affects anything either way, I just listen to what I want, an ugly girl who is a musician actually earns added respect from me. Her unashamed ugliness is something of a turnon even. This here is basically the entire crux of my Winehouse fascination. She's a talented singer, and was a decent looking girl, who totally and utterly destroyed herself, not giving a fuck at all. That's beautiful. Diamanda Galas is like that too, probably the best female singer I know, one of the best singers period, and she's just not attractive at all. She almost looks like Winehouse there. I still find her amazingly sexy.

He shouldn't be. Eddie in the 80s is one of my favorite actors, but I legitimately believe he hasn't made a good movie since Metro. That's more than ten years.

Speaking of girl singers who are ugly, I did a google image search for "Peaches" and Peaches herself was the predominant result, moreso than the fruit. I find her insanely attractive because of her personality, not unlike Winehouse... but she's nowhere near as ugly as that. More enjoyable albums too.

Congratulations! I always thought I'd do better with daughters than sons myself. In a related note, this month is seven years since I fucked a 13 year old. So unless she had a kid, I got away with that forever.

I do drink diet versions, it's true. There's coffee at work, I just prefer the taste of energy drinks. A guy at my old job once drank five Full Throttles in a row. He was an odd guy, used to like, run up and down the stairs for an hour with a tire on his back. He works for the fire department now. If I was ever in a burning building, I'd feel better if I knew that dude was coming to rescue me.

While there are good and bad elements to Eli Roth, I will say I'm looking forward to his adaptation of Stephen King's Cell. A decent enough story, I'm hoping Cell will have an equally awesome opening scene similar to The Happening, except not suck afterwards. I read that book the day it came out (die hard King fan), and even then I said "This will make an awesome movie."

Speaking of dating sites, I recently swapped out my plentyoffish account for one seeking men, and like three quarters of the matches it gives me are guys with pompadours. Meaning? I need a pompadour.
