  1. Ha ha. Yeah, that's true. That's part of why I dig him, half the shit he says I can't even believe he's serious. The balls on the guy are immense. He reminds me of early Tarantino, before he was a legitimate player and would just say whatever he wanted.

I know you were probably being facetious, but if there is a tsm bay area get together to beat up goth kids, count me the fuck in. I've held a grudge against goth kids since middle school. I often got lumped in with them, even though I was more of a columbine kid. Some of them are nice though.
  3. Hell yeah, son. That's good, good shit. Y'know, regarding torture porn, I actually fully embrace it. Ever seen Murder Set Pieces? I love it, even though the acting is crap, save for a nice turn from Tony Todd as the proprietor of a porn shop. Even though I'm a writer, not a director, I count Eli Roth among my influences, mostly for his egotism (best quote "The future of horror? I'm the present of horror.") Eli Roth, John Waters, Rob Zombie... this is who I want to emulate as a film maker. Hopefully it won't make Jingus reconsider his decision to watch my stuff.

    Alternate movie draft

Nice! I think that may have been my first favorite movie. Pretty dirty for a six year old, but whatever. Probably my favorite joke at that age was "The royal penis is clean, your highness." Or possibly "Most amusing, sire. ROYAL WIPERS!"

Yeah, I didn't get into eating shit until I was older either.

    FOOD FIGHT V

So if you guys like hot dogs, try the Johnsonville butcher shop style from the grocery store. They're really good.

    The Dark Knight

I agree; I've made the Bruce Wayne/Pat Bateman comparison since I first heard Christian Bale was cast in Batman Begins.

Vanity Fair is one of my favorite magazines, spoken as a man who doesn't read magazines. It'd be that and a bunch of pornos. I read Vanity Fair for years when I lived at home, my mom had a subscription, which I think she inherited from her mom. It's not bad jerkoff material when you're 14. Vanity Fair is actually pretty racy, with legit celebrities. Sometimes the articles are even good. The back page always has a Proust Questionnaire, that's good stuff.

Yeah, you're just... you're just out of it, man. You either get it or you don't... you obviously don't. That's ok, I'm not going to condemn you for it, but your opinions are wrong.

Funny, Bug's Life and Wall-E are competing for second favorite Pixar movie for me (first is Incredibles).

Marnie with an ie, not an ey, after the Hitchcock movie. My two cats during that period were named Titus and Marnie, Titus in honor of Titus Andronicus. I named them after the worst works of Hitchcock and Shakespeare.

    Looking for love?

Nobody's hating on the fact that he's using the site. I use pretty much every dating site there is. It's the fact that it's him that's the problem.

I'm interested in Mongol too. But it only seems to be playing at one theater here (in Oakland), and I really don't feel like going out there. If it was playing pretty much anywhere else, I'd go.

How do you hate pineapples? I just don't get that. I have vague memories from when I was very young, being taken to a buffet, and I'd eat nothing but pineapple. To this day, I've always got some pineapple juice in the fridge. The answer to the initial question for me is mustard. Wouldn't touch it as a kid, put ketchup on everything. Now I still keep a small place in my diet for ketchup, but mustard goes on everything. I like fancy and spicy mustards, but even classic yellow is good.
  16. She is. She's actually one of these artists that are really prolific, she apparently writes songs all the time. It's a matter of releasing them. Prince has expressed interest in working with her... now that is a collaboration I'd be down for. There's actually a lot of people wanting to work with her, but the one I'd actually kill to see is Shane MacGowan. Somebody needs to get them together stat.

While I've killed a cat or two in the name of Satan, this is just silly. There's so many cats wandering around, you'd have to be out of your gourd to pay for one. That's a lot of why cats are so popular for animal sacrifice... they're abundantly available. Even if you're getting one as a companion, go to the pound. One time my aunt flew to Texas and paid a few thousand for a cat. It was a Russian Blue, which is a nice breed, but I ended up getting a Russian Blue myself, from the pound, for nothing (that was my cat Marnie). That's another thing that pisses me off... people who die and leave money to their pets.

Oh by the way, the term Vanity Fair is from Pilgrim's Progress. I believe the magazine (a collection of perfume ads with an editorial slant) took the name from the novel, but Pilgrim's Progress was the first time the term had been used, to refer to an actual fair. It's a really direct allegory, you see, like the guy's name is Christian, and other characters are named things like Worldly Wiseman and Giant Despair. His wife's name is Christiana, that's about as ambiguous as it gets. I'd heard a few times that it was the second bestselling book after the Bible itself... funny how these things never show up on the Amazon bestseller list, though. But yeah, Vanity Fair is probably the most lasting claim to fame it has.

  21. Right here, one of the best homage movies ever made. Hilarious film, bought it a long time ago and still have it on VHS. Need to invest in a new DVD copy of it though as a safety net. The dvd is actually out of print, which is what got me thinking about it in the first place.

    Desert Island Draft

I think SVU is the first time I've legitimately been burned in this draft. I totally thought I was going to get it.
  23. I'd like to read that article. (Sidenote: when I post in this thread, I just make my comment and then think "Whoops, better find a picture too. Gotta keep the theme going." It's a total afterthought, and it still only takes me like 30 seconds to find one.)
