I saw Wanted, but no need to bump the thread. It was pretty good, but... almost too good, if you follow. I wanted more action, less plot. And while the plot was fine, it wasn't great enough to horn in on action. I was also strongly reminded of the Korn video "Freak On a Leash". But I'm glad I went. The horror renaissance we experienced is waning, but perhaps this is part of a new action renaissance, with stuff like this, Doomsday, Shoot Em Up and Crank and the like. I guess those kinds of movies never really went away... but technology is catching up to them.

That's not true at all.

There Will Be Blood - Anderson, 2007 As called, this is my third choice. When I first saw this movie, it was sort of hovering around the same area as No Country For Old Men as my favorite movie of the year, but with the passage of time this has far surpassed No Country for favorite of the year, and is now well into my favorites of all time. Daniel Plainview is one of the absolute greatest characters/performances I've ever seen. I watch this regularly, and see reflections of myself in it.

Does anybody hear me denying the influence? But I wouldn't call it the first color movie with graphic gore... I'd call that, oh... Curse of Frankenstein. Not as graphic, sure, but graphic. As importance as it's lurid color I think is also the testament it presents to marketing. It being sold, sight unseen, as buckets of blood drummed up huge interest for not much of anything. It was a champion of hype.

Blood Feast... now there's a movie that sucks. Not because it's torture porn... it's just awful. Kinda funny... then again, I've never seen it sober.

barron isn't better than anyone... except maybe Jingus. -
Brutal, as I love these last four picks, though I wasn't necessarily planning to choose them...

I actually emphasize my loser qualities, as that's the type of woman I want. Sure, I already know I'm a pimp rock star, but I'd much rather sit at home reading comic books, and my potential mates should know and cherish that.
-
I really like that one. That's a corporate logo waiting to happen.
-
Fuck you suck, Jingus.

QUOTE (Тайг @ Jul 2 2008, 09:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> agreed. But really, who's better than Hitler?
-
Can't look past the fact that Fred Phelps is worse than Hitler.

I also liked Diary of the Dead.

Yeesh. I took your advice, and now I will not be taking your advice again anytime in the near future. What a vulgar, disgusting movie. In a bad way. Torture porn disguised as an action flick. *buys*

Just eat corndogs, who cares.

It's not that sad. You'll be alright.

Platforms... that would somehow be worse than heels, though.

(But I did actually end up getting a Red Army Choir album)

Where's your messiah now?

How do you live that you can pack up and leave in a work shift? I live in a single room above a bowling alley and below another bowling alley and it still takes me a good two weeks of prep and a whole day of actual moving.

I'd like to see Lethal Weapon 5: this time Riggs is really crazy.

I haven't seen it. I have heard of it, and I think I'll go ahead and put it in my netflix queue.
-
I never saw that.

The duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort brought tears of awe/joy to my eyes.
