The Shining I love Kubrick, I love Nicholson, and this was them at their best. One of the few times a movie has been better than the book, and it's a good book. Legitimately unnerving. I suppose this isn't really relevant, but I am actually phenomenally good at being able to tell when I will like a movie based on one trailer or teaser. I never see movies that I don't appreciate on some level, and I go once or twice a week. The last movie that I saw that I just straight up didn't like was Cold Creek Manor (fooled by a good cast) and before that, probably Independence Day (caught up in the hype... I was 13, what do you want?). I'm legitimately proud of that record.

You know, I'm going to call "Hennessy & XTC" by B.G. featuring Big Tymers a very underrated rap song. It's seriously one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

Ed Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, William Hurt > Steve Carrell, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, Alan Arkin... But they're both fine, I'm sure.

I'm skipping all the new ones (and Venture Bros.) until I can watch them all in a marathon (this has become my new habit for tv), but good to hear it's still doing well.

Austin Powers 2 and 3 were actually really hilarious in theaters, but had no repeat value at all. Like, zero. Spy Who Shagged Me is the only movie I've ever actually seen someone walk out of (over the shit drinking scene). I love toilet humor more than most (and before you judge me, hey, so did Mozart), but Mike Myers is doing it wrong.

Harsh! I would have picked that a few rounds in. The only thing that brings it down a notch is that I love the first half so much more than the second. Unlike the music or even TV drafts I'm doing, I'm pretty unfamiliar with most of you guys' taste. Should be interesting.

Yeah, I could hang with it. Greek is the first show of this draft I've out and out not heard of. That guy sitting in the lower left corner, though, I've seen him before. A lot of people tell my brother he looks like that guy, and he's greatly insulted by it.

That's pretty cool, although the way Myers likes to break the fourth wall is one of my least favorite things about him.

Since I live in the Bay area, I don't much care for all that shit. It really is a very strong localized culture, you notice it very quickly. I even catch myself saying hella sometimes. I've been out here too long.

I don't really think Hulk is a good enough movie to overcome it's average performance. It was no doubt hurt by the last one, and it's just not strong enough to compensate for it, not to mention coming on the heels of Iron Man which was just massively better than it.
