    Boardloaf

Man, I swore off all fast food for a while again (probably should do that in the winter instead of the spring...), but had to break it cause I saw Arby's with a what? Spicy fish sandwich. Actually... it was fucking good.

    Does anyone here -play- music?

I am a singer. Strike that... I am a performer! My motivation lags as I'm not so pissed of at everything anymore in my old age, though. I practice the Morin khuur. I can sort of half play a bunch of stuff. I'm pretty good at sampling. Might learn the bass. Cause it's an instrument, but not really.

You know, I actually eat a pretty good amount of fish, and I don't really like it. I mean, I like the fish I eat, but I never eat real fish. I eat that stuff you guys were talking about. Or sushi. But something like even say, tuna, I can't stand. Most any other seafood is great, though. Shrimp is like, my favorite food. I'll go to a shrimp restaurant and if it's really good I'll buy a t shirt. I own shirts that celebrate how much I love shrimp.
  6. "Because you were home." Now that's a sweet line. Some Funny Games shit going on there.
  7. Nice. Say, MST3K fans... I just noticed that in Teenage Strangler, the chick that's singing on top of the counter in the soda shop kinda looks like Wino. One of the jokes was "Patti Smith: the early years.", but Amy would have been even more appropriate, had she been famous at the time.

    Happy St. Patricks Day!

Actually, besides being a "Hallmark holiday", Valentine's Day actually originated as a mistake based on misinterpreting something Chaucer said.
  9. When I saw Doomsday (which was awesome), there was a trailer for a horror movie called The Strangers. What a fucking awesome trailer! I'm very excited about it, moreso than I've been purely on the strength of a trailer in a while, as I know nothing else about it.

2 kids rob a police station

Oddly enough, I'm in favor of executing legit retards, but regular dumbasses? Leave them be.

    Happy St. Patricks Day!

Don't people from Scotland hate people from Ireland? Or the other way around? I used that as my excuse for not doing anything, being of Scottish heritage, but nobody really knew whether it was true or not. Close enough, I guess.

The Stooges - Fun House Whew, dodged a fuckin' bullet there. I actually could take any Stooges album, but this is the one I wanted. I find it more urgent than Raw Power, and really what's doing it here is that "TV Eye" is better than any song on Raw Power. Just take all that stuff MiB said, but change the opinion of which album is prefered. There you go. TV Eye is my ring tone. That motherfucker will wake me up at 2 in the morning, and I do occasionally get stupid motherfuckers calling me then.

In regards to SF, I'm a Dhalsim and Sagat user. Not too common, so it throws people off, plus they're really fucking good. MK, it's Scorpion for me, or else any of the cyber ninjas. Also, Sex Pistols: I'm actually glad nobody is taking much punk, it gives me breathing room for several of my choices. But... while I appreciate the Sex Pistols aestetically, I never want to listen to them. Sid Vicious needed a hug. Best story about Sid Vicious, he goes up to Lemmy and says "I can't play bass." and Lemmy says "I know." PiL are pretty good, though.
  14. No, I've heard a few people say this, but they were mostly idiots. This isn't a slight on you, as I don't know you, but that's what happened. People who don't have any sense of cinema don't like it.

So, turns out one of my friends

I have tons of these associations, perhaps surprisingly, perhaps not. What's really disturbing is people who feel comfortable confiding in me that they're into little kids, though they may not act on it. Why does everyone feel so comfortable opening up to me? Probably because I'm an open book myself, and likely the least judgmental person ever.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I just said that to avoid obvious stuff I'd already know about. Mermen I don't, so that's fine.
  17. Oh, there were more than that. What about Stone Temple Pilots? Soundgarden? Even Stabbing Westward? There were lots. I drew one of these S's on my forearm today, and every single person of the correct age group commented on it. Comments similar to what was being said here.

You guys, if you're going to quote a post, edit out everything except the most recently added line. The one you're responding to.

I feel like listening to some surf rock. Anyone want to recommend anything somewhat obscure?

Shitty surroundings do produce good music. I have no opinion, btw. I've been to both.

"Message In a Bottle" is my favorite Police song. You know, I do love Aquemini, but I always seem to forget it when I'm doing or talking about a greatest of all time thing. It was the furthest thing from my mind in this thread, for one, and I've got one or two more rap albums squirreled away. Good call. I mean, yah... Lil Flip? I didn't see that one coming. Straight Outta Compton, by the way, I think is more important than outright good, although it is and I listen to it a lot. It's totally frontloaded. The rest of the album almost seems like a drag after the opening three tracks.
  22. Yeah, I just wanted to see Mos Def and Jack Black actin' a fool, but I think it should be a pretty awesome dvd, if they include a bunch of the movies they made. Especially since one of them, listed but not shown, was Gummo.

I had this one sent in a pm, but I got here just in time, apparently. Miles Davis - In A Silent Way My favorite Miles. I know Gene liked this one a lot, and when I saw he went another way, I figured I'd be safe holding onto this for a bit. So here it is. This is like what Van Gogh's Starry Night would sound like. This album doesn't just sound cool and relaxing, it is cool and relaxing. It's sitting on the porch with a cold drink on a warm, breezy night. It's luudes on the beach. It's the summer between sixth and seventh grade. It's afterglow. Miles has been more interesting, but never better, in my opinion. This is actually a perfect night for it too. I'm going to listen to it now.

Regional Differences In Fast Food Joints

This is your location that's messing you up. Chuck E. Cheese is still prominent. I could actually talk a lot about this place. When I was a very little kid, basically when my memory started, I was in Atlanta. And they had this place there, except it was called Show Biz Pizza. Show Biz and Chuck E. Cheese are exactly the same thing, except their mascot is different. Chuck E. Cheese is a rat, and Show Biz had a Hillbilly bear (appropriate for Atlanta, I suppose). Also in Atlanta was a second tier place called Sgnt. Singer's, where the mascot was a tiger. They're long gone. Chuck E. Cheese and Show Biz eventually merged. There's a handful of Show Biz still around, some outside the continent, but Chuck E. Cheese is still alive and well. I pass one every week on my way from my DUI class to the train station. It's right next to a Toys R Us. It's a pretty shitty place, but kids like it. There's some choice video of me there when I was like four, in Batman pajamas, which I wore 24/7, with a little girl trying to pull my pants down. I have an obvious erection. Yeah, that's some pimp shit.

The AIM Away Messages of a Bi-Polar

Fair enough, but I'll have to disagree on a purely experiential level. I'm cool with every single one of my exes, except one. We might not be the best of friends, but we can kick it once in a while and it's fine. And actually, the one I'm not cool with was because I never saw or heard from her again. It's not just me, either. I know a lot of people who are friends with exes. It might be the "intense" qualification that's doing it. But someone who says shit like what's been posted in this thread so far, I'd have to say is not capable of a normal relationship, and anyone who is attracted to her probably isn't either. But in the real world, it just isn't that big of a deal.
