WWE General Discussion - October 2008
Boner Kawanger replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
You know what would be perfect? Randy Orton gets voted in over Stone Cold and HBK, defying all logic. The announcers say this is the first time Shawn has lost a fan vote at Cyber Sunday. Whatever the result, Orton, Priceless, and Manu beat down Batista to end the show. Then they reveal the next night on Raw that although it cost thousands of dollars in texts, DiBiase was easily able to buy enough votes for Randy so that they could wreak havoc. -
Is this beatdown from The Sandman the genesis of Gertner's neck brace?

Hey, it's ROLLERJAM's Ken Resnick!

It's going to be unspeakably cool to see the WWE tryout of E&C and the surprise IC title win. I still remember reading about that on some newz site when it happened. I never thought I'd get to watch it. Also, I remember really liking that Raw match between Rated RKO.

WWE To Now Exclusively Call Their Talent "Entertainers"
Boner Kawanger replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm not so sure it isn't one. The constant references to workers as "entertainers" tears at the suspension of disbelief. It's one thing to know that pro wrestling isn't real. It's another thing altogether to have that fact forcibly shoved down one's throat. If you're posting on a message board called The Smart Marks, your suspension of disbelief is already critically wounded. This isn't as bad as "WWE Universe" (which many of the same people are running around in circles screaming about), but I'll honestly miss hearing "Superstars". -
I love love love Leprechaun Back 2 Tha Hood. We watched the BET version after a big Christmas party last year, and it was so bad it sent people with bad hangovers back to bed. Those of us that stuck through it (all both of us) found it to be perversely entertaining. Very quotable, especially since they chose to replace the N-word with "ninja". Not to mention what one character does with his gold, a line we've repeated far too much. "That's right, bitch. I bought me a new car, some rims, I got some ice, and a whole assload of bud. And I smoked that shit and it was good." I tried to watch the original Leprechaun in the Hood, but it doesn't have the same charm Despite having Ice-T.

He pretty much hasn't been seen since. -

Ted DiBiase Jr. needs to bring back the seasonal residence gimmick. -
Okay quality but you can tell it was a good performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHTkOPvnO10 I didn't even know this was coming out until I had to Google the lyrics to "Big Blue Plymouth" and then I saw the interview Byrne did with the AV Club and assumed it would come out this month. I guess I'll officially start looking for it. I really wish I could have afforded tickets to see him up in Memphis.

DCH really hates HHH. Must be H envy. -
This game is fantastic.

Technically, it's a WWE Home Video. What was on part 3? That's one of the things I didn't get this time.

WWE General Discussion - October 2008

Unfortunately, we're getting Finlay and Hornswoggle as the new Doink and Dink and Kizarny out of this. Hate-filled feuds with no blading sucks too. Chris Jericho just got his tooth knocked out in a match after leaving Shawn Michaels a bloody mess at the Bash and punching HBK's wife in the face. Its the best feud they've ran in years. I also want to point out that before Kizarny debuted, I had an idea of an unbalanced wrestler just being a total Dark Knight Joker ripoff and wresting in a homemade Doink costume. -
The DJ was obviously confused by the Columbia throwback logo.

Maybe it's just me, but every picture you post (including your avatar) is always a Photobucket bandwidth expired picture.

On the flip side, it's rather childish to complain about something as minuscule as the "WWE Universe". I'd honestly rather watch them market to children than pander to people stuck in 1998. I'm pretty worn out on "edgy anti-hero curses and makes dick jokes to the boss" after seeing it probably six times in the past ten years. -
I really wish they'd have put his Rumble win up. Are there highlights in the Hall of Fame video?
-
Agreeing with everything Bob said. Despite Raw having the official formation of DX, nearly everything on Nitro was infinitely better. Including Goldberg dropping Scotty Riggs dick first onto the guardrail. I guess his one-eyed monster was hurting long before his regular eye. Although Raw does a better job of bringing up Assault on Devil's Island.

I laughed when "Step 0" was to buy a cartridge or merchandise.

He'll probably write a book about it, just give him a few months.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Boner Kawanger replied to HollywoodSpikeJenkins's topic in Television & Film
I really appreciate the Testees commercials during Sunny. It's like cleansing the palette: I laugh really hard at Sunny and then lose all joy at the first sight of an advert. -

Norm on FX with a takeoff on Curb will be great. I hope they put it on after Sunny next season. That would be a great block of programming.

Good call. There was never a Dean Douglas figure (I doubt he made the cut for the Classic Superstars line), but was there a WCW Shane Douglas figure?

Brutus Beefcake knocks up super model?
Boner Kawanger replied to BruteSquad_BRODY's topic in General Wrestling
Brutus Beefcake would make the next season of Curb Your Enthusiasm awesome.
