WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Boner Kawanger replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
I remember buying a Best of Halloween Havoc tape for the sole purpose of seeing Chamber of Horrors. Once I got a PWI Almanac and read those three little words, I HAD to see it. Yes, WCW put Chamber of Horrors on an official Best of tape. -
-Yes, there may be more like that from back in the day. I'm not sure. -Facations is new. -Next time is Wrestling's Most Important Moments, so add it to the list.

I don't know if these are in order, to be honest. I think they are, since the first two are right and the two-parter matches up, but no guarantees. I do know that the episode in question is . -
Came to post this exact thought. I guess it led to the Flairs vs. Windham and Hennig, but that just led to another nWo beatdown. So I guess you're right. EDIT: The angle ends with Flair turning heel and Hogan turning face. That's the final payoff. WCW Wuz Awesome.

Yeah, that was definitely getting on my nerves, especially since Foley is repeating stories from his book that he regularly repeats on other roundtables. On the other hand, it seems like Flair is getting more and more wasted as this thing goes on. Sheesh. He makes Hawk on Primetime look like CM Punk by the time he's asking for some sort of rejuvenation machine. I hope he filmed more than one of these.

The Guns don't have an angle unless they're jobbing to a team composed of a veteran and a young TNA guy. It blows.

Supposedly, Tobey inked a $50-mil deal to star in two more Spidey movies, to be filmed back to back. Apparently, Kirsten Dunst is battling clinical depression, so its unknown when or if she'll be offered a deal. The article I read on Dark Horizons didn't mention anything about Raimi so I don't know about about his return.

Here's the full episode list for the season, spoiled since some people treat them as jokes. Also, check out the Sunny Blog on the FX website, with its abundance of features. If you consider the episode titles spoilers, you may want to hang back as there's an awesome . And finally, AV Club Interviews the Gang: http://www.avclub.com/content/interview/its_always_sunny_in -
WWE General Discussion - September 2008

There's never anything weird with someone on the Internet wanting HHH off of TV But you're right, it has helped Raw. HHH has been a face for two years, right? And face turns are like leaving him out of the bag; he's getting stale. And I think he's been great since he came back, don't get me wrong. SummerSlam proved what a worker he is, but at this point, I want him to retire before he ruins his knees and wins his 16th world title. To be honest, I've always hoped HHH would retire at fifteen, but we'll see if he can make it that far now. *awaits HHH wrestling for eight more years* -
It's worthless without the "shoot myself in the head" taunt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxRIo4DNSYA...feature=related See? See?!

WWE General Discussion - September 2008

The absence of Vince is really helping make Raw more enjoyable. Instead of six or eight Vince segments, we get six or eight segments with different wrestlers who have time to develop their character. Now instead of....Vince, we get more Santino, a Jamie Noble/William Regal feud (with an excuse to look at Layla), Evan Bourne cutting promos on KANE and then kicking his ass, and Charlie Haas as The Rest. -
I saw the Drama swerve coming so that hurt it for me. I'm glad he's single and (still) crazy again. EDIT: In a post-Dark Knight world, I roll my eyes when Ari mentions Aquaman being the highest grossing movie of all time.

TNA has a Middle Eastern character with airplane crashes in his theme music. Suicide and Homicide are the least of their worries. Here's Suicide's stupid finisher from the game. I hope TNA makes him try to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7syqMAdYyY

Somewhere on YouTube, there has to be a Mega Man 9 video with someone complaining that it looks like a SNES game.

OH YEAH! OHHHH YEAH! LETS CHOP CATS! LETS CHOP CATS! The Season 3 DVD has two commentaries, a gag reel, and a couple of featurettes. I haven't got to those extras on disc 3, but the commentaries are pretty good. Just not abundant. And once again two episodes air Thursday night, back to back. -
So now that it can't beat Titanic, somebody figure out how many DVDs we have to buy to get this son of a bitch to number one in DVD sales.

Owen's "I can't fight a guy with a broken arm" is classic considering his willingness to compete with a broken arm. EDIT: From Venky's WON on the last page: *Off TV, "Brian Christopher and Sunny left arm-in-arm". On the current Raw, when Sunny is in the ring to be the guest announcer, JR makes reference to the fact that she and the King's "boy" could pop out some grandkids.

I thought tonight's episode was a little weak aside from Ari at the golf course, but it really took a turn upwards when Vince said he was ready to play the game. Hopefully, that will help freshen things up.

I meant to ask last week, but when's the last time a Pitt or Clooney had a non-action/action-comedy blockbuster?

Just wanted to say that this whole post is a really good point and I've felt this way for years. I think it started with the TCM remake, which I hated. ----- Over the past month, my best friend has ran into Weeman and the fat guy from Borat. Should I be jealous?

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

Well, WCW did their best to keep actual wrestling fans out of the Disney tapings, so the chances of a Sid mark losing sleep over it are slim. -
The 1992 Royal Rumble is the single greatest performance by an entire company in one match. Everybody from Flair to Heenan shine. You have to see Hogan/Warrior from WrestleMania VI. WrestleMania VII for Flair/Savage at least. The whole show is one of my favorites. Then WrestleMania X for Bret/Owen, the LADDER MATCH, and you can see Bret Hart finally get the moment he deserved for once in his life. Then, for historical purposes, find Bash at the Beach 1996 (at least the main event, but try to track down the whole show). I think something important happened at King of the Ring 1996. and the '95 KOTR is historically bad and the place where Vince noticed how big ECW was. Find some coked out Macho Man and Hogan promos from the 80s. I suggest the one after they form the Megapowers and Hogan's promo against Hercules. Then move on to Flair and the Horsemen. And then just get the Bret Hart, Ric Flair, and any other wrestler DVDs. I'm probably going to keep coming back and editing this. EDIT: Or just get WWE 24/7.

Remember Disaster: Day of Crisis? It survived those rumors of cancellation and is set to be released in Japan in two weeks. European release follows next month. Fast forward to :30 in if you want to skip Japanese Nintendo Channel menus and loading. Why people post the whole process on YouTube, I'll never know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEA_wbCDSng It's getting flak for looking like a PS2 game, but what Wii game doesn't? Regardless, this was one of the titles I was excited about back in the day, so I'm glad to see it finally come out. Hopefully there's a US release soon. The commercials have me a little pumped. It looks like there's a lot of variety in the waggling puzzles and combat. I mean, you fight a fucking (PS2) bear.

They show the whole thing. I love the crazy, insane, oversexed Flair from 1996. It may be my favorite Flair time period after the run with the original Horsemen. My roommate watched this with me, and we were both freaking out when they showed those over-the-top Flair, Savage, and Hogan promos all in a row.
