STARTLING PREDICTION AHOY: Mario Kart Wii will be a mascot racer featuring car-like "go-karts" to be driven by most of the characters from Mario Party 8. Sonic the Hedgehog will NOT be a racer (or will he?????). The game will implement items, motion sensing in some capacity, and online play will be regulated via friend codes. It will be released sometime between summer 2008 and December 31, 2009. Gamestop will have it on it's coming soon list with a release date of June 1, 2008 and gullible folks will assume it to be true and threaten to burn Nintendo to the ground when they camp out for no reason and/or film themselves smashing their Wii for YouTube. You know, I started this as a joke but it seems so true... Also, the people I play WarioWare with that love it are the kind of people who would love to play it around 4:20 if you know what I mean. Hope that helps.

I'll go by what I've played. -ExciteTruck is my current favorite game. It's fun as hell and has a lot to unlock. It's probably the best undiscovered game on Wii. -Twilight Princess is a great game if you're a Zelda fan. A lot of people will tell you the controls feel tacked on, but I'd disagree since I felt like it really added something to the admittedly tiring 3D Zelda formula. -Super Paper Mario is another fun game, but it's on the short side. However, I've had around three or four people play it and hate it, so I'd say it's for hardcore Mario fans only. Also, it's sorta funny but not LOL HI-LARIOUS as some have said elsewhere. -WarioWare is great only if you have between three and twelve people to play it with. The single player's okay for an occasional pickup, but I can't say I've gone back to it in months. There are a few pretty entertaining unlockable games that I have played on occasion, but again, they're more fun if you're taking turns. -People criticize Wii Play alot, but it's got a better reaction from my friends than any other Wii game I own surprisingly. You're gonna want an extra Wiimote within the first 24 hours of owning it, so you might as well pay an extra ten bucks for the games. And games I've rented: -Trauma Center: A friend of mine picked this up for our group when we were all home for Christmas. After the initial "I can't believe you rented the fucking surgery game", I was surprised at how obsessed we became with it. We wound up going through it twice, so I guess it's short, but there were at times seven people taking turns on it. -SSX Whatever-I found it to be pretty fun. You tilt the nunchuk to steer and wave the Wiimote to do tricks. I wouldn't mind owning it, and I've never bought an SSX game before. -The Godfather is kinda on the amazing side IMO. I never got into the GTA/Sandbox genre, but being able to actually choke someone out was liberating. It provides a few "holy shit I can't believe I did that" moments. -Sonic and the Secret Rings is the worst game I've played on the Wii. Frustrating controls, and the most repetitive levels ever (you seriously go through the same stage at least ten times doing different "missions" like time attack, ring collecting, destroying enemies, etc). -Rayman Raving Rabbids has been rendered obsolete by WarioWare.

If she had played Storm, I doubt she would have demanded to have been the leader of the X-Men. Maybe she would have even refused to say the infamous "Toad struck by lightning" bit.

If you remember a few months ago, someone broke my first Wiimote by swinging it against a bedpost. Given that it turns out he and his group of friends were going around robbing people, I had no druthers in trying to get Nintendo to repair or replace it after I got out of my dorm (long, long story..). I called customer service today, and I was told that since it came with my Wii, it was covered in the warranty, but she gave me a strange troubleshooting option. I was told to take the remote, turn it upside down (buttons facing the floor), and smack the button side. It worked.

So plug in a Classic Controller or a GameCube controller.

A Face in the Crowd/especially Andy Griffith didn't get nominated for anything because Elias Kazan was involved in the whole Communist thing. Also Arrested Development should have swept every awards show ever and should still be doing it, regardless of it being on or off the air in whatever fantasy world I choose to live in.

I'm sure it's coming. The best part about any baseball game on Wii, though-I don't have to hear the two worst words in the baseball video game world: "swing stick". Ugh.
-
Speaking of baseball, we're finally getting a licensed MLB game in less than a month. It's arcade-style, uses Wiimote+Nunchuk, and has fielding. I can't wait. http://wii.ign.com/objects/863/863791.html

The One and Only Batman Begins thread
Boner Kawanger replied to Ravenbomb's topic in Television & Film
Rumor has it that Hall is playing Again, just a rumor, as TDK is more closely guarded than Begins ever was. Also, it turns out that one of the leaked pages of the script spelled out "SEE YOU IN DECEMBER" with the first word on every line... -
Will this be the sword fighting game we've been waiting for, or will it be Wii's Mortal Kombat: Sub Zero?

Wow, Skeleton Sue Dibny is the scariest looking character in a series full of alien monsters and paranormal spirits. Also I hope every Booster Gold appearance isn't going to be "_______ is dead! _______ was my best friend!"

Today on the VC: Final Fight-SNES-800 points Ordyne-TG-16-600 points If you're like me and had no idea what Ordyne is, it's a side-scrolling shooter. whatta surprise. On a related note, am I the only person here who has never seen a TurboGrafx-16 in person?

For what it's worth, there were reports from the premiere that an actor whose identity had to be kept secret said that "just because it looks like I die in this doesn't mean that I won't come back''. I'm gonna try and dig up a link.

Sacha Baron Cohen to Play Freddie Mercury?
Boner Kawanger replied to haVoc's topic in Television & Film
A friend of mine has been saying James Franco for years. -
For a while people were lining up to play my copy of Wii Play just for Tanks, and before that, Wii Sports was king. Personally I don't poopoo the two games just because I've never had any video games that all of my friends begged to play.

It's late, I saw it, and I have to say, of all the rushed, plot hole filled movies I've ever seen, this one is the best. Skimming through, it looks like I agree completely with Sledgehammer.

Incandenza's Movies - DVDs - Television Thread
Boner Kawanger replied to EL BRUJ0's topic in No Holds Barred
How can we have bad taste when we hate every single movie ever? Also this will end well. -
Thanks you, Rudo.

Wow. I can't believe it's fake.

Awesome, a picture without any source or accompanying press release or link whatsoever. I wonder if it's real. http://www.batman-on-film.com/batmovienews.html (If you don't want to click the link, the picture is fake)

Bob, I seriously think that the Norm appearance is on Conan's 10th Anniversary DVD, but I haven't seen it in a year.

I was able to get a remote charging station (the Nyko one) from Circuit City today. It was the first time I'd seen any in stores. They had three different kinds, two that charged two remotes at once and one with just one dock (ironic, ain't it?). They also had a few remotes, nunchuks, and classic controllers. So if you're looking for accessories, maybe your local Circuit City got a shipment in today.
