What did he say about them? I missed it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He said that the Heart Throbs were the Kilmer and Clooney Batmen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> King's actually a big comic fan, so I'm sure he hates those movies as much as I do.
-
Maybe he's killing his two most famous characters off, so that when the inevitable remakes come, he'll be able to wash his hands clean of everything except for a producer role so that he can make some money.
-
Okay, thanks. I was thinking that he didn't take one at WM and couldn't remember him ever doing it in WCW.

It wasn't a heart attack. It 'turned out' to be just heartburns, but nobody bought that Nash was ill to begin with, and it was just his way of getting out of doing a job. And the finish was meant to be a clean job to Giant. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay, I know it wasn't a real heart attack, I should have made that clear. What I'm asking is, could Nash take the Chokeslam or would they have had to find another way for The Giant to beat him clean?

Jordan had charisma, though. Armstrong might have been funny in Dodgeball, but that was with multiple takes and no pressure since it wasn't live. I would like to say this, though. Shocking as it may seem, this whole situation just boils down to people having different senses of humor. True story. A few years ago, we had this guy that sat at lunch with us that went missing one day. A friend of mine just said "Maybe his dad died." We laughed. Turns out his dad did die. We told him about it the next day. He laughed it off and said it was cool. Some people just react differently to tragedies. The type of guy I am, if I survived cancer, I'd joke about it and hope that my friends would kinda laugh at it. That's just how I would cope. Armstong seems to have a sense of humor about it. In fact, he'd probably be more offended if someone, you know, made a joke about infidelity or something.

And I thought UTSU was finished with this thread. He must be drinking again. When I drink, I hang out with my friends and the Internet is the last thing on my mind.

Wow, Lance Armstrong is the greatest athlete in sports history? Really? I'll gladly say he's a great and inspirational man for coming back from cancer (which is a touchy suubject to joke about, Bob), but he rides a bike. In fact, he's the only bike rider any of you could probably name. How this qualifies him as the greatest athlete ever is beyond me. His SNL will probably suck given that you could have a funny actor on and it would suck. Just to make sure no one attacks me (heavens to Betsy!), Lance Armstrong may very well be the most inspirational athlete ever, but the greatest is really, really, really pushing it.

Alright, Kevin Nash being in the hospital led to discussion of his heart attack that kept him from jobbing to The Giant at Starrcade and made me think of this: Could Nash take the chokeslam? If not, how was he supposed to lose? Botched nWo interference? The legendary Giant Moonsault?

Comments that don't warrant a thread

Delete old game saves, there's no other way without getting another card <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did that. There's nothing left on the card. I'm in no position to buy a new memory card for a soon-to-be-outdated system, so if there's any way to completely strip a memory card (like the old N64 Z-button trick), I'd like to know. -

I got MVP 2005 for Gamecube at a used game store Saturday. I want to start a season or whatever you want to call it, but my memory card doesn't have enough room. My blank, black, 260 or whatever block memory card. What the hell do I have to do to save stuff without buying a new memory card? I mean, come on. -
I bought the game last Wednesday and beat it last night. Now I'm going through just looking for stuff. It's pretty fun but too short.

Heenan was fired because WCW wanted to go in a young, hip direction and replaced him with Mark Madden. No joke.

No idea this was even being released. I had the action figures and COLORFORM PLAYSET~! when I was growing up.

The OAO Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thread
Boner Kawanger replied to DMann2003's topic in Television & Film
Servo's breakdown at the end of Manos is better. Too long to quote or memorize, but for the one person who has never seen Manos, the movie is technically over and it cuts to two women in a car. No dialogue, so Servo provides it for both of them while Joel and Crow just sit in silence. They both know it is too late for their friend. -
It sounds to me like your English 101 class is just full of stupid shits, so I wouldn't go by what any of those folks say. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not going to disagree with that. All's I'm saying is, in a room full of Family Guy fans that match the demographic, not one person could explain why it was a good show. I'm just glad I didn't bring up Arrested Development in there. I'd hate to here how unfunny those people thought it was. You know, even though they don't watch it. Is anyone getting the DVD today or are we going with a separate thread for it?

THe OAO Last Raw on Spike TV Thread (09.26.05)

Whatever you want to call them, from what I saw, the TIT Squad botched everything from kicks to walking. -
Oh my god ABOBO is reading this thread. Yeah, to add to the argument, I really liked Family Guy after it was cancelled, but ever since it came back, I barely find the time to watch it. When I do, it's never mind-blowing. I know this sounds weird, but I think a lot of people (not necessarily you guys) like it just to say they like it. Example: I just started college. I'm in English 101 right now, and we're going over argumentive papers. Our teacher asked us to come up with a statement we could back up with evidence. Some guy just said "Family Guy is the best show on TV". The class agreed that they all loved and watched Family Guy. When asked to come up with reasons why, the entire class went blank. In ten minutes, they came up with three reasons: 1)It was cancelled and came back 2)It's funny and 3)It sold well on DVD. I'll admit to not liking many of the people in there because they seem to lack the intelligence to hold a discussion, but I thought that was rather telling.

1000 Reasons why Late Night with Conan O'Brien

75. If They Mated (can't believe it hasn't been said) 76. If They Mated: The Book existed long before any Daily Show books 77. World's Fastest Menorah versus World's Fastest Baby Jesus 78. Up to the minute car chase coverage with toy cars 79. Awkward flirting with guests -

The comic seems to be made for kids and major fanboys, so they can tell whatever story they want with any character. It rarely reflects the TV show. I think Powergirl is going to show up in the Christmas issue. Plus Blue Beetle was in an issue (and it was awesome...). -

Oh, hey, could someone tell me where Buster was when Lucille went and found him? My uncle was outside and I missed that part. -
