God, first you guys play that video game and now you'll watch that movie. If TNA asked you to dress up as clowns and kill people, you'd do it and chant "THIS IS AWESOME".

Oh, and they outright teased a rematch of Savage/Steamboat. Watching two ultimate babyfaces go down in the first round is another knock on the booking.

The problem is the booking, not the time. It's a lot like Starrcade '97 in that it's dominated by heel wins and cheating. Christ, how many people get screwed by a cane here, let alone a chair? Half of the matches are either a draw or a tainted win that would put a bad taste in the crowd's mouths (I'm not counting the Demos win here since they were over as faces at this point). Not to mention the screwy ending of the Beefcake/Honky match. And, I mean, I love "The Brain" but I didn't wanna see Team Dog Abuse win. If I'd been cognizant when the show was live, I would have been one devastated mark.

It's weird but this is one of the few shows that I see a lot of Facebook support for, ranging from my jock friends to random girls from high school. My friends and I have been assuming that the show is a runaway success based on how many people we know of that watch it.

According to the AV Club, the ratings for EB&D have been really low and they don't see it getting another season. I'm almost glad, if that's the depressing case, that we got that ending. It works great thematically. Also, good call on the shot being an echo of Kenny's fixation on April's big cannons. We need to devote an entire discussion to the artistic integrity of nudie shots.

I figure Vince's mindset at the time is that No Holds Barred is gonna be the biggest movie of all time and he'd be stupid to not run a rematch from the movie as the main event of Mania.

Like him or not (I think he sucks) but Mongo was OVER in 1997, especially around the time of the Horsemen breakup. Remember the Clash match against Jarrett when he won the US title? I'm shocked to this day that he did so much jobbing around that era, pretty much putting over Hennig, Goldberg, and the Bulldog one after the other. Plus, I was always a little surprised he didn't make it onto the roster for WCW/nWo Revenge. Did Bischoff just stand there drinking a cup of coffee while Mongo was talking to him or something? Another tragedy if they cut the new MNW episodes will be the time it takes to relive Mongo's glorious last moment in WCW-getting bleach thrown in his eyes and disappearing forever.

Hopefully those are in the main program since they are two of his best promos
