Jason Cross and Matt Sydal on Victory Road PPV
Phoenix Fury Legdrop replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in TNA Wrestling
Considering they need fresh meat to job in the X-Division 20-Man Rumble, I'm not surprised at least one of those two made the cut. -
I'm figuring they'll reappear tonight, still fighting, have Storm beat Crabtree, then claim to have the longest match of all-time.
-
Ian said at the Q&A that they're going to pick it back up again in a little while, have four more qualifying matches, and then do a show with the eight guys (Webb, Ian, Petey, Delirious, next four) with an eight-man tournament for the belt.

Yeah, this is a bald-headed, leather-wearing, metal fan who happens to be a pretty good wrestler, though (ironically) he too is from Chicago. Back when he was a face, he'd often make jokes about his own name on commentary, since he seems to be a huge baseball fan.

The debut of "Devastatin'" Danny Douglas, daddio! -
I saw him twice last weekend, both at IWA Mid-South shows, and if that's the Chris Candido that's making the comeback, then I wish him nothing but the best. On Friday, he was in one of the funniest comedy matches I've ever seen (him/Steve Stone/Claudio Castagnoli/Nigel McGuinness vs. Danny Daniels/Matt Sydal/Ace Steel/CM Punk), and it practically had his fingerprints all over it. He was also really great at getting the heel heat of 500 fans out of 79. The next night, him and Steve Stone actually made a Dusty Rhodes match kind of fun. It was those two against Rhodes and Ian Rotten, who grew up idolizing Dusty. He basically pulled out every Flair spot in the book, and Dusty was up for everything he did. Plus, him and Stone bumped like pinballs for Dusty's offense. I really hope something happens for Chris this time around, as he seems to be in it whole-heartedly. But, if he doesn't get a deal out of it, I hope he sticks around the indies for a long time, as he has a hell of a lot to teach younger guys who are willing to listen.

IWA-MS October quad shot thread

Mike Wallace runs New Breed out in South Bend, which would explain all the New Breed merchandise (including a swank Best of Nigel McGuinness DVD), and yes, he is horrendous. Plus, the idiot was promoting one of his DVD's by repeatedly yelling "Come watch Crash Holly's last match!" Went to both the Lafayette and Highland shows...I honestly thought Lafayette was better. Everything at the Ann. Show seemed rushed, and it seemed like there was way too much filler. Plus, the finish of the final match kind of left a sour taste in my mouth, as the criticisms of IWA becoming "ROH Mid-South" are becoming more and more true. About the envelope...Fannin did say that it was "Ian's worst nightmare". Honestly, I think it's the return of Michael Todd Stratton and Bull Pain. I kept hearing people say that Fannin "sold his minority share to Jim Cornette", which would seriously be an awesome storyline, but literally impossible to do. Match of the weekend? Hmm...hard to pick. I did really dig GenNext & Nigel/Joe, Nate, and Ace, but I think I'm going to give that to Super Dragon/B-Boy from Friday, as it came off like they looked back at their Jersey J-Cup final and corrected most of the stuff wrong with it. Oh, and to prove I'm the coolest person on the earth, I won this swank IWA license plate on Friday night in Lafayette that had every wrestler from that night's autograph on it. Raffles rock. EDIT: I cannot put over the eight man tag from Lafayette enough. To draw a comparison, it was like a GenNext/Ebessan, Kamen, Nate, & Sal match. Between the heels having ten weapons between them to be taken away during frisking (including a WEIGHT BAR), Chris Candido being slammed by all four faces and Bryce Remsberg while bare-assed (Candido, not Bryce), and Jim Fannin showing off his breasteses, it reeked of hilarosity. -

Trust me, I do. He might be out romancing other geeks who pretend to have control over really goofy imaginary wrestlers, but at the end of the day, he always comes back home. -

It might not necessarily be the best one ever, but Roderick Strong's KICK TO THE FACE OF DOOM~!~!~! on Samoa Joe at TPI in September only getting 2 was one hell of a heated two-count.

Added to Highland is Ryan Boz vs. Abyss (thanks to a DP post on DVDR), and an eight-man tag match that'll be announced tonight will take place in Lafayette. -
Not to make myself seem self-important or anything, but...Yuji Chusaki is a made-up Japanese wrestler, but completely based on current IWA-MS and ROH wrestler Matt Sydal. By the way, Crystal/Hoff rocked. Loved the finish.
