Bush asks for more british troops

This has to be the dumbest statement ever. I mean, seriously, this ranks up in ignorance with Murmuring Beast's "My granddaddy was in the Army back in the day, and they knew who to shoot and who not to shoot" comment a long while back. To say that American troops have a "Gung-ho" attitude is great because, well, GUNG HO MEANS "STRIVE FOR PEACE" IN CHINESE, IDIOT. Shoot first and ask questions later? Excuse me, but proof anyone? I don't remember American troops being truly accused of this. And if you can, give me a day and I'll bet I can find a similar instance of a British trooper doing the same. I love this superiority complex INXS has over there. I mean, seriously, he honestly thinks he can lecture us on American Politics ("What is affirmative action?") and criticize our military without any actual knowledge of either of the subjects.
  5. Unfortunately Mike, it's the nature of the beast. She's not the first and will not be the last. Indeed, but that doesn't make it any less offensive or disrespectful. It doesn't matter if they spoke highly of her, they brought up something that is extremely private and is a family matter and have tried to turn it into some shitty talking point. That's a horrible disrespect in itself.
  6. So, ask Cheney. Her official position is director of vice presidential operations. So this suddenly turns what is a private family issue public? This is some sort of joke, right?
  7. I agree to an extent. Edwards' use of it was much lower than Kerry's. Kerry's, though, didn't sound much better. His delivery of it was really... awkward and forced, I suppose is the best description, and that to me kinda came off as he was struggling with the question and searching for a decent thing to say. It didn't come off very genuinely, and frankly that matters a lot when you are talking about a subject. Frankly, she shouldn't have been mentioned more than once, if at all, but the Kerry/Edwards campaign, and the ways she were were certainly not respectful to the Cheney family.
  8. I don't really care because so far all the Cheneys' outrage has been expressed at rallys with supporters instead of interviews, and at those events they're giving the crowd pleasers that people want to hear, and the crowd pleaser is "John Kery = Lying, low-balling, scum sucking moron who will say anything to win and weaken America, after he's finally decided what shirt he's going to wear that day." While I don't think they're actually happy about the remarks, a stump speech is a pretty disengenous place to talk about how you really reel. That's wrong. CNN has been showing an interview with him denouncing Kerry's comments all day.
  9. Hey, then we could add in all the third party guys. "Mr. Nader, you are the Weakest Link. Goodbye."
  10. If the last few weeks of the campaign are as dull as tonight's debate...I may have to start sniffing down the white path of my hero Teddy Kennedy. Your hero is Ted Kennedy? For shame. #12 Beer. w00t.
  11. Hey, don't put words in my mouth! I didn't say that... did I? No, I didn't. So do what I say, not what you interpret I did.
  12. Right, Bush has always classified Kerry's military service as commendable, and even said it was "more heroic" than his own. 3rd party ads are a different story. The Republican ticket uses the candidates' records, the Democrats take personal cheapshots...not suprising. The fact that the SBVT folks have done what they have, and this new Sinclair Broadcasting idea, are undeniably sickening... However, Bush has been very respectful of Kerry's service personally...and Kerry/Edwards have made the lesbian comments outright, and is thus even more wrong on that level. Maybe these lesbian remarks should have been left to a moveon.org ad... Snuff, I might be a little drunk (4 beers in 40 minutes will do that to ya), but I find myself liking you more and more. I dunno what the hell you did, but you've really sort of turned into the Libertarian you've always claimed you were. Sorry to have doubted you. I dunno why this is relevant to the discussion at hand, but I'm bored and I felt like typing that. Go Team Self-Esteem.
  13. I think Bush did a little better, but the entire debate was really a trainwreck. I don't think anyone would WANT to claim victor for that thing.
  14. I don't think you'll be hearing anyone calling it God like, like you seemed to think Edwards' was.
  15. Oh God. He's gonna talk about Teresa.
  16. Anyone up for a chat and a laugh after this one? PM me with your screenname if you are.
  17. "My plan specifically outlines which programs will be considered gifts of the Almighty and which ones won't be."
  18. Same way he's responded to every other question. "Well, first I'd like to go back to the question that was asked a half hour ago..."
  19. PEOPLE OF COLOR! HOLY SHIT!
  20. "My plan includes reperations. You can find out more at JohnKerry.com!"
  21. You were a law enforcement officer? No, you were a DISTRICT ATTORNEY. That's a BIT different.
  22. Is that the first real shot of the night? And did Bush say backhand checks?
  23. They would have gotten Andy Rooney but he would have answered all of his own questions... "Jimminy jillickers! Jimminy jillickers!" And Kerry a moron. THE WHOLE GLOBAL TEST IS A VETO!! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND IT! And allow me to say "BWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" at Bush calling Kerry out on the first Gulf War.
