The OAO Argue With Bruce Over Shit That Doesn't Matter Thread
Justice replied to HollywoodSpikeJenkins's topic in Community/General
Hey Tom? Eat a bag of dicks. *Walks off into the shadows and obscurity once again* -
Does anyone else think that Super Nova is one of the heroes that has been killed recently? I mean, since he's not appearing in any of the newest stuff, I was thinking he might be a Ted Kord from an alternate Earth or something screwed up like that. Or maybe he's Rip Hunter, or even possibly a different version of Booster with the right information on the timeline. Ah well. Just speculation.

Does anyone have any real sympathy for Speedball's incredible inability to take any responsibility for what happened in Civil War #1?

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread

He is. That's actually the movie I was thinking of. I'm almost completely convinced that the combination of CGI everything, lackluster directing, and horribly trite dialog ruined what could have been an excellent performance. -

I completely disagree about Hayden. He's shown a fairly good ability to act, and has a decent look to him. The problem is that he was saddled with absymal scripts, along with lackluster directing. I believe it was mentioned earlier by someone on the 'Special Making of' disk (Which apparently blew), they show him having 12 good takes, and then they make him miserably overact it and take that one. I think Haydne would have been good, he just suffered from a lack of good scripting. The whole flippy-floppy thing I'm sort of torn on: Honestly, I think they should have stuck to the ground a bit more, but I really enjoyed a lot of the TPM fight. Things like Dooku's fights were attrocious ("Yeah, let's just watch you in the darkness for about a minute and a half..." <--- When does this seem like a GOOD idea?), Yoda's fight was just too crazy, and the final fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan had some real good moments and the real bad ones (Metal Maniac is right: There is a 15 second twirling contest that just looks horrid in the middle of the fight). I'll stick to my guns and say that ESB is the pinnacle of Lightsaber fighting. It feels both strong, somewhat realistic, and has a good amount of emotional interplay that the new trilogy just completely lacked. So many of the new ones give off the 'Bad Kung-Fu Battle' vibe ("My Kung-Fu is better than yours. Let us FIGHT!") rather than giving us any real emotional build up to it. -
Hey, wanted to start a new one, just because I'm a bit bored at moment. My first matchup: Spiderman vs. Batman and Captain America Conditions: 1) Neither side is holding back, and is going completely all out. 2) Takes place in a high-rise area, but not New York or Gotham. Spidey obviously has the better physical stats along with special abilities (Spider-Sense and Webbing), but both Batman and Captain America are insanely resourceful, battlefield geniuses, and have taken on tougher opponents. Could they defeat the Webslinger?

Good Superman Villains: Lex Luthor Brainiac Doomsday Metallo Mongul The Parasite (At least, in my opinion) and Intergang (Which could be cool as a potential lead-in to Darkseid) That's a fairly good Rogue's Gallery there.

Weird, I graduate the same day. Have a double major in Music and Political Science, moving on to Wayne State University Law School.

Then what about Black Panther vs. Batman? Just fighting, how the hell could he beat his armor? I love Bats, but it's not like this is the Adam West "I have my 'Anti-Vibranium' Spray!", who is TRULY undefeatable. I'm almost dead sure that he has a "Anti-Power Cosmic" spray for just these arguments.
-
See, I only put this fight forth because on another unnamed board, people had a lot of trouble with me choosing Bats/Captain over Spidey. Tactics will always trump blatant physical abilities, especially when Batman or Captain America is involved.

I fail to see much JLU influence, sadly. Actually, the JLU Legion pics looked REALLY good and fairly accurate. I mean, COME ON. Which would YOU prefer?

And what about a Serial Killer? Repeat offenders, no matter the motivation, are sick individuals. Once again, trying to put more time towards a motive is simple more time ignoring the crime itself. -

Wow. Civil War had literally NO connection to House of M. At all. Nada. Zip. Minueto. Zero. Grrrrrrrr. Anyways, I thought it was okay, but it seems like I've already read this before. I didn't like some of the scenes, like all the heroes in one spot. I hate the 'group discussion' comic thing. I thought that the entire argument would have come out better in individual conversations rather than just gathering all together. The whole thing seems... Forced, really. I don't know how else to put it. It seems like all these guys are just... there, and things are happening, regardless of what happened before. I don't remember any sort of reference to House of M or its consequences. It's a lot more focused than IC 1, but ultimately it seems a lot more rushed, and I don't like that. I have to say, though, I enjoyed the art. Marvel always had the market on 'realistic' art, and I really loved it.

My opinions: I think everyone can agree that they wanted more of the , and I'm hoping they release something that will show more of it. It was criminal and do what they did. On , I really just wish On , I simply thought how appropriate. Overall, a great ending. Not perfect ( ), but it definitely accomplished what it needed to, and frankly I thought it was quite good. This trailer doesn't do much for me. I thought Spacey's Luthor was okay, but the "WRONG!" thing is just so... ugh. I hope that this doesn't hit CAMPCON 5, because if this fails, The Flash movie might not make it to production. And frankly, that'd make Baby Jesus cry. Edit: By the By, someone check out that map in the background when he says "BRING IT ON!". Some... interesting geography there.

Not enough child rape.

They weren't really spoilers as much as they were... Uh... vague hints? Yeah, I need to see how this ends. It's gonna be a WILD RIDE, I just hope they can bring everything they've started back into one coherent story and a bang-up ending.

When you say Firefly, I'm guessing you are talking about the guy right in the middle of the splash on the initial breakout, since that's actually the Riddler (Look at the hair when Huntress talks to him, the strands match up). I can't find any other possible Firefly at Arkham, otherwise. Captain Nazi: Yeah, lame reason. I figured, though, he wouldn't be dead yet. You can't kill the Aryan Race! Toyman: It wouldn't be hard for someone like the Society to sneak him into prison, especially with them threatening anyone and everyone. *shrugs* Riddler: Yeah, definite contradiction, unless Huntress is really getting lax nowadays. Bane: Again, yep, unless he finally wanted to just trash people. Edit: Found him, but it's Blackgate, not Arkham. Hm. Could he have been brought back to life from the Earths being smashed together?

What errors, just to ask. Maybe I wasn't looking too close, but I don't think I saw too many.

I don't think that's what recidivism means. Ah shit. Late at night for me. Still, I don't think Recidivism is a proper argument. If that's the real crux there, why not just kill them so they don't get the chance? Isn't arguing like that moving towards the Death Penalty, to not allow for a chance for them to commit the act again? Secondly: 'Vigilante Justice' is a paradox in terms when it comes to civilized society. Stop the person from committing the act, then allow the police to handle it. Ask Reginald Denny about 'Vigilante Justice'. -
If anyone else was having problems, I found this to be useful as well. *Random Post*

How do you prove it? What if someone doesn't say anything racist during the beating, but people may have heard him say racist things on other occasions? What if the guy called this guy a 'nigger' all the time, but had good, long-standing relationships with other african-americans without problem? No offense, but it's not provable. Anyone can be made to seem racist and racially motivated. It's not that hard to gather a few people who have heard you make a few racist comments and other things like that and cobble together a decent case against you. The entire thing detracts and distracts from the original crime: Someone is dead, and the accused must be proved guilty or innocent. I'd rather not see every multi-racial murder trial break down into racial semantics rather than focusing on the crime at hand.
