George W Bush makes joke about lack of WMDs

Oh shut it. Everytime you come in here you get shot down because you are a Chamberlain wannabe. If you can't add anything into the conversation, just go back to thinking up conspiracy theories that revolve around Courtney Love, okay? And in all honesty... does this really deserve two pages? I mean, this isn't even really current events; it's fluff. I think we should really cut down on the useless bullshit being posted on both sides on the political spectrum and keep it to, I dunno, something a bit more intelligent?

I've decided I'm voting for Ralph Nader.

See, that was my immediate thought on this topic.

George W Bush makes joke about lack of WMDs

You know, I'll agree that it was inappropriate. I personally don't think he should be making a joke like that right now since it only hurts his case more. Will I still vote for him, though? Of course. Sorry, but one joke really doesn't sour him enough for me to go towards Kerry.
  5. Okay, he's either Frank Zappa Mask or he's a troll. This pretty much confirms it for me.

    Unintentional Irony

So, Bush would appoint a judge who wouldn't require states to do something that a majority of Americans oppose? DAMN HIM! -=Mike Don't believe the hype. From CBS.com Not all Americans disapprove of abortion. Certainly not enough that it should be completely overturned. And this case, President Bush would actually be taking AWAY a right from the people. It's a guarantee that if abortion became illegal, there would be many more dangerous backdoor abortions that could then put the mother's life in danger as well. Then, if that's the result, why would it be done? The people that would have abortions are STILL going to be having abortions - only in a more dangerous way. Religion is fine if Bush wishes to honor it, but his religion is starting to dictate the policy of this country and the rights that U.S. citizens have......and that's where it's becoming a major problem. ... Those polls really don't help you. I mean, 35% support it when the family can't support the child, which is EXTREMELY low. A majority are okay in cases of rape or incest, but that's mainly common sense. And don't even say "Well, not to Right-to-Lifers!" B.S. because for every one of them there is a person who supports choice without any sort of restriction, which is easily just as dumb. Abortion is about 50%, give or take 5% on either side when you are just straight up asking the question as "Do you support Abortion or not?" When you start to throw in variables, you'll easily get different results. I mean, I'm sure that more that 35% of Americans support abortion, just as less than 85% support it. Get some sense, man.

    UN bureaucrats taking kickbacks

Heck, Spain SHOULD have elected Wesley Clark. He could guarantee no attacks in the future. -=Mike yes, and at the same time, Bush is going to cut the deficit in half "how Mr. President?" "any of you want to ask me about steroids in sports??" ... Do you have anything, like, revelvant to add to the discussion? Because seriously, it seems like all your posts as of late have been flame-baits towards the conservatives. On Topic: I read this in the paper today and thought it was pretty amazing that this didn't somehow get a front page headline. I mean, if Dick Cheney was accussed of this it would be all over, but this barely gets a mention. So, I guess this puts a new spin on the "No war for oil" mantra you always hear...
  11. Point in case, just like to note that the hijackers from Saudi Arabia on the attacks during 9/11 were exiles who were kicked out of their country.

Spain to pull all troops out of Iraq

Question for Rob: If the Spainish pull out their troops, that likely means they won't help out with the UN Peacekeeping force that has to be placed there as well. Just because we are switching over control to the UN doesn't mean that the UN is going to suddenly start dropping Clone Troopers to garrison the area. They are going to have to have an international peacekeeping force, and now that Spain is going to pull out their troops, it looks like we are going to be comprising even more of that force.

    Liberal talk radio

Unless he's only using Stewart Smally for his show, that doesn't mean much, plus a lot of people made SNL back then funny. Not to diminsh his contribution much, but SNL and a political talk radio show are two pretty different entities here.

    Liberal talk radio

JON Stewart , and he doesn't let his political views control the show. He'll make a smart quip or two, but he's generally an equal-opportunity satirist. Maher is a good one, though Miller (and I suppose you could put in Colin Quinn as well) do just the same with conservatism. I don't think it really matters what part of the political spectrum you are on as long as you have fun shit to say. On that note, this thing will fail miserably. Garafawhatever is way too irritating to listen to for more than 15 minutes, and Franken is great in doses, but I don't think that he can maintain the hilarity for an extended period, even if he is making fun of O'Reilly. Oh well, not like I listen to any talk radio in the car... *Puts in "Kill Bill, Vol 1" Soundtrack*

    Time interview with Kerry

I'll concur in part and dissent in part. Agreed, the bases of both parties are as solid as they are ever going to get right now, but there is still a big undecided vote that can swing either way. Otherwise this election wouldn't be so in the balance right now. And I'll point out that Bush held his own against Gore, who was far more seasoned that him. He's improved a bunch on his public speaking and Kerry is pretty wooden. It should be interesting, though. And on the stuff that bigjig said: Clark? HA! HA HA HA! No chance in HELL! The guy was a poser candidate: He didn't know what his own stances on the issues were. The guy would have gotten massacred, big time. Edwards? Probably a good chance, though he's slicker than Clinton without the country charm. I don't think he'd crack the South, but he is definitely the most presentable of all the previous candidates. Dean? HA! HA HA HA HAAAA! Kerry isn't half as bad as what Dean could have been. Dean was fricken insane with some of the gaffe he was making. You should be very, very glad he's gone.

Hans Blix: Iraq war was illegal

Then why did we go into Afganistan? Why did we go into Kosovo? Why Bosnia? Why Somalia? Just because Iraq has oil doesn't mean anything since it is quite obvious that we haven't taken any of it yet. And why did it have to be for oil? Could it not be because, you know, we've let Iraq go on for way too long? You say "Why not other dictators?", and I'll point out that we have a very direct relation to this one's regieme in that we (Along with the rest of the world) made the mistake of letting this one stay in power because we thought someone more horrid would come into power. Not only this, but Iraq has been a cornerstone in both parties' foreign policy plans since the Gulf War that there is no reason why Iraq SHOULDN'T be first: It has been one of the most dominant issues and concerns in American Foreign policy for 12 years. Explain to me why not... Why was he developing missiles with a range of 1,000 miles? Understand that it isn't just about attacking the US, it is also attacking US allies and interests in the region, #1 being Israel. These missiles allowed him to launch whatever payload he wanted to right into Jeruselum or Bethlehem or whatever other city he wants to, which would definitely tick off Israel and could quite easily destabilize the region. The US, being allies with Israel and trying to iron things out for the entire Middle East, would not take kindly to this since it would sort of, you know, fuck up everything that we've been working towards in the area. The US has a vested interest in the entire Middle East and its well-being, and Saddam (With his weapons and army) were an obvious threat to that well-being. Then why fund weapons programs like the missiles and rebuild (Still the largest in the Middle East at the time) his army like he did? The guy basically had a loaded weapon and we couldn't stand there on the charge that "Hey, we think he learned his lesson..." That doesn't mean shit. After the World Trade Center Bombing, Osama waited 9 years before making another shot on US territory. UN inspections had only stopped 5 years before, so he only really had 5 years to start rebuilding without obstruction. Secondly, when you say "Giving the impression that he has the means to protect it", does that allow him to make it look as though he has weapons that would directly violate UN Resolutions against him? I mean, he can say (Or even have) these weapons because "Hey, I gotta protect my own stuff, yo"?

    Bush exploits 9-11

Ignore much? Then again, you seem to live in your own little world, so I figured you missed it... Wait! You live in your own little world! Is that what makes you a free-thinking libertarian?!

    Bush exploits 9-11

No, you see, you aren't a Republican, you aren't a libertarian, so you are a Democrat. Not like that's bad all the time (See: JotW, EricMM, JMA, Tyler, Wildbomb), but in your case, it is.

    Bush exploits 9-11

Well, I guess I'm a bit offended by his claim because I actually know a few very free-thinking libertarians (And since I'm probably voting Bush this November, I've been trying to weaken Kerry in their eyes) and this guy definitely doesn't strike me as being as intelligent or free-thinking as either of them.

Please SHUT UP! Seriously, you haven't ever established yourself as a "Free thinking Libertarian" that you say. You seem more of a Democratic tool than Terry McAuliffe. Christ... *Waits to be called "Republican Tool" as well...*

Hans Blix: Iraq war was illegal

Well, that makes Kosovo illegal, numbnuts. The UN didn't take action on Kosovo, NATO did, so the UN was perfectly content to stay out of what amounted to Genocide. I know you won't say it, but I'm sure your peers are already saying "But that was only Russia holding us up!" To that I say that "Hey, only France was holding the Iraqi War up!" Face it, the only countries that raised major objections to the war in Iraq were France, Germany, and Belgium. Russia said that they would abstain from fricken voting. Three countries does not the UN make. Get your facts straight, ignorant one. And on the WMDs... give me one intelligence agency that said that Iraq didn't have any WMDs and you have an argument. The fact that the American, British, , German, and French intelligence agencies all thought that Iraq had WMDs was pretty much why the Bush Administration was sure that they were right. Actually, that's all the justification we actually need. The missiles in question that we found were in direct violation of the UN Resolution 1441, thereby justifying immediate action to rectify this. But hey, you knew that before, right? Right? Because people like you will bitch at us for "empire building". I like how some people can oppose the war and then suddenly start pushing us to go all the way in a year. Talk about hypocrits... Jesus, ever heard the term "Rome wasn't built in a day" (Empire-building pun intended)? Do you have any idea how long it takes to successfully put up a working government in a country that, in its entire history, has NEVER had a democratic government? Not as easy as saying "And POOF! Democracy!" Give it time, unless you want the UN to screw it up like Bosnia, Cyprus, and God only knows how many other fiascos they've had... I'm not going to go on record and say that they didn't say that, but one of his big quotes was that if we waited for them to be an imminent threat then it would already be too late to stop them or something along those lines. And it is true: Why wait for a madman to get in striking position of you to strike when you can take him out of power before he can hit you?

    Kerry's Veep

muchos gracias for clearing that up. No, he's right. All these people creaming about Edwards... It ain't gonna happen. Richardson is the one where they stand to gain the most. Then again, his Clinton UN Ambassador Job could be a liability on the Foreign Policy front.
  25. Well, Mike, there is a difference between crippling their international operations and their operations right in their backyard...
