The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

I've become immune to the Spurs losing leads; it happened so many times last year -- especially in the playoffs -- it doesn't bother me anymore. That'll probably change in the playoffs. The West is taking the title this year. The East is a joke. The Pacers are the only threat there but they'd lose in 6 to any of the Elite 4 out West (Spurs, Kings, Lakers & T'wolves). I also need to go on some more ESPN bashing (which I never do). ESPN acting like "'Bron" leading the Cavs to the playoffs is huge is an even bigger joke -- the East will probably have 3 teams under .500 in the playoffs. But LeBron is God, so don't disrespect the almighty. If they get over. 500 then it'll mean something, but not now.

The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

I wasn't worried about the Spurs' lead yesterday; my limit was 2 points, if Dallas got it down to that then I would of became worried. Smell the Ratings is right, Bowen is pissing guys off because they forgot some people still play D. While ESPN creams for high-scoring games and call the Spurs (mostly their Shootaround crew) "boring" because they aren't flashy, nice to see the old saying is true: "Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships." Yeah, it was just one game, but the Mavs and Kings -- the two highest scoring teams -- haven't won jack when the media is giving it to them on a silver platter (basically the Kings since everybody knows Mavs don't play D) while a "boring" defensive team has.
  3. Why people think they need to create threads on things like this I don't know. Everybody needs to keep their mouths shut on this issue. Thoth, you're an SWF guy, so with all due respect... stay out of this. You're not there, and like CWM said, you don't know the whole story. The problem wasn't with the parody. The problem is with people digging up the past when they said they wouldn't two years ago. I couldn't give a damn who's friends with whom, who holds shit over somebodys head, etc. Blame belongs on 2 people: Superstar & Popick. Yes, AP was involved but I've always believed Supes was the one who couldn't let the past go. He does most of the baiting, so he gets a majority of the blame between those two (SS & AP). Stephen, we get along fine (you probably considering me a friend) so this might surprise you and others, but you are partially at fault. Hear me out, I'm going to be harsh on both of you. I understand the piece upset you, however, you should of PM'd Supes about your problem with the use of your girlfriend instead of plastering it in front of the others to see, that makes the OAOAST look bad. It takes a problem between 2 people and makes it look like the whole place acts like that. Did BPP act like a drama queen, sure. What he should of done was PM SS and AP. Onto Superstar. We also got along fine, but let it go, man. What happened years ago is over. It's history. If BPP's the drama queen, you're the crybaby. Always the one who fires the first shot. You two were able to get along when you returned to the OAOAST under a different username. Go back to those days, where nobody brought it up. Yeah, nobody knew it was you, but it wasn't a problem. You and AP should of shown better judgement on using her name. You know how BPP is. Friendships blind people in situations like this. Let's be honest -- Zack, AP & CWM stick up for you. It's normal, that's what friends are for. I just want an end to this now! I just said what no outsider, persons involved in the OAOAST or has a friendship with the guys involved in the situation wouldn't do: I cut through the bullshit and told it like it is. Case closed.

    AngleMania 3

Yeah, use Buffer as the ring announcer and keep IZ & HD crew. The AM III logo was used at ZH, so we have one. You already know about my match. After what's happened I may just use the first draft instead of polishing it up.

    James Bond: Everything or Nothing

Thanks a lot. I'll try it later. I'm able to get past the first section, the second part is the toughest. I came thisclose by using the strobe to stun them but got nailed from behind with a crowbar, getting near the room where you must enter the card.

    James Bond: Everything or Nothing

Need some help on the game. I've having trouble getting past the platinum challenge for "The Kiss Kiss Club" level, where you can't use ammo. I'm having a bitch of a time beating it. Anybody know how?

    Close this, Bitch.

I wrote that commerical. We talked about it last year, where I apologized to Superstar. It was very much like the "Agnes" gimmick, everybody was running with the joke and it kept going and going until everybody let off steam at the beginning of last year.

I understand how you feel Zack. I feel the same way; I co-created this place. While I, nor AS, were as involved as CWM was, this place comes first and I promise you will never break off. I'm not Micky Mouse & Michael Eisner, and hD isn't Pixar, big boy. I sent ya a little something-something. Check your inbox.

Zack, everybody just needs to take a HUGE chill-pill. We go through this once a year -- with the same folks noless. Look, we're all behind a monitor. Feelings can be hurt easy online because you can't tell emotion via a screen. Nobody's taking anybody to court. And nobody's bailing to make a new fed... not under MY eye. Guys who quit should grab their balls and shove 'em back in their sack. I don't like speaking out, especially something like this. But I'm not afraid too. I want CWM to stay. There's an answer to everything. You just need to act like a adult -- which is kinda hard since most of us are young and are emotional in the heat of the moment. Gather around the camp fire, stick place your hands together over the fire and say "TEAM" on 3. One. Two. Three! TEAM~! I'm being serious. Nobody should quit. EDIT: Chuck is right. Those 3 should settle their differences over PM. Let's keep the ball rollin' for AM III.

I understand that AP. When drama hits, it floats in the back of my head: what if I would of done this? I shouldn't have OK'd that, etc. I'm cool with everybody here... including MrZsasz, and we know what happened there. Let's get the drama out of the way ASAP. This isn't a trial. You're not some crooked CEO, atlethe who received steriods, or terrorist who need to discuss things before making a statement. All the OAOAST Mods are looking for is a short and simple "Sorry for using your girlfriend. We thought it would be funny, but clearly we made an error in judgement bringing her into it. Let's move on." The parody isn't the problem to me or most of the Mods. The gf thing is. The only people who like this is TNT... they love drama, you know.

Lets get the shit out of the way

Just for the record, I'm not calling for the angle to be dropped totally, just using her as a character and an apology to Popick for the way the character was handled. That's it. The organization of the OAOAST was by me. I have no problems admitting I was the one who tried to make this serious. As I told the other OAOAST Mods, this was a new experience for me, so I thought there were going to be bookers who decided wins/losses, etc. Bad mistake in hindsight. Call it ego, but I'm one who rarely fucks up; when I do it bothers me. When the past is brought up, it irks me because I know I caused a crack in the foundation. An error in judgement on my part (aWo reunion angle) set the wheels in motion for an event that CWM said well: it got overblown. I've been lucky that nobody has really been pissed at me, which I think is due to my kindness to all and the fact I admit fault. That said, let's do we was promised last year... drop it. Now thread is closed.

Lets get the shit out of the way

I completely agree with what Anglesault said. FS, you weren't around when the bad blood began flowing between the parties involved; it was a bad period in OAOAST history which is now in the past. But that past tends to bring its ugly self back up every now and then. That needs to stop, period. They shouldn't have used her real name or pictures from SJ's own site unless they got his OK to do so. And from what I understand, that didn't occur. Supes & AP's actions afterwards didn't help and was uncalled for. AS put it best: it's sad. Those two should apologize to Stephen and drop the whole issue altogether. 2002 was long ago. Everybody was fucking up back then. Get over it.

    Batman Begins tidbits.

WB confirmed the name themselves. If it were to change I wouldn't mind, not too big on "Batman Begins".

    Austin/McMahon feud

You guys pretty much nailed my favorite moments. Believe it or not, I actually hated the WWF at that point (Nitro & the nWo angle made me a WCW fan since Raw sucked from 1995-1996); I thought they were nothing but bad language and sex. It wasn't till I caught a McMahon/Austin segment that I became a WWF fan again. A lot of their classic stuff is on the Best of Raw vol. 1 & 2 DVD. I know they released the "Austin/McMahon: The Whole True Story" video on DVD (haven't seen it), but they should go back and make a special edition that includes tons of shit. I can only imagine the IWC hated that. I thought it was hilarious, as well as the "Rocky" parody when McMahon was training for the Royal Rumble.

    James Bond: Everything or Nothing

Yes. Everything you hear about this feeling like a Bond movie is true; fun as hell. I haven't played the mutil-player yet, but the single player is fun.

    James Bond: Everything or Nothing

Damn, I guess it was true. While it is something different, I'm not too big on EA's idea. I want to play as 007! After taking a few steps forward, EA may take another two back. This could be the game that finally gets EA out of the shadows of Rare or one of the biggest misses in gaming history. I'll have to wait and see how it comes along. I just can't see it. I enjoyed EON so much I hope I'm proved wrong. But damn, until I am I still believe this is the wrong one to make.

    If Russo had Stephanie's job

Honestly, I'd take Russo over Steph anytime. With Vince as his editor like before, I think it would work. Like some have already pointed out, Russo's biggest problem is prefering shorter matches. When he took over in 1997 it worked because their talent roster was shit; you only had a few guys capable of going at it (Bret, Owen, Austin, HBK, etc). At least he would stand up to the backstage shit happening now. That's one thing I respect about him, he wasn't afraid to speak his mind. I think a Russo/Heyman writing team could work provided they don't kill each other. However, given a choice between Russo, Steph and that writer from 2000 (poor guy, he did a great job and few know his name), I'd take the 2000 writer.

Correction: Send your stuff to Chuck, he's taking over the posting duties this month. Chuck, I have a segment posted in GCF.

    Feed and Book

If you're the one who came up with the explaination as to why Jesse was back at the booth, excellent job with continuity. And by all means, continue to use him if you wish. I didn't want to cut him from the announce team, but when it was decided to revamp IZ Jesse got the axe to give the show a different look. It has been 4 months since the relaunch so its cool.

    Feed and Book

Funny thing about the new name; I got tried of writing "Tony 'The Body'" so I decided to change the name to give it a more arrogant feel (my character is very Hollywood). I thought it worked well. It'll be an underground favorite until the mainstream catches on. Expect "T" and maybe "Mr. T" to come into play soon. This weeks IZ was a show. There were only 5 writers, but the content was there and that's what counts. Now I have to write AngleSault's Birthday EXTRAVAGANZA~! which may or may not include a moment everybody will remember. When I finish it, I'll send it to you AS -- and you can no sell it. Wha...?

    James Bond: Everything or Nothing

This you play as the villains though. Dr. No, Goldfinger, and more yet to be named. I thought that was a hoax? At least that's what I heard. I do know some gaming magazine said it would feature a cover story before they pulled the plug saying something bigger pushed it off. I don't see how that would work. If true EA would be doing attempting something very original, but I just can't see it. I'd prefer playing as 007 than one of his villians.

    James Bond: Everything or Nothing

I also beat it yesterday. Now I have to go back and unlock the rest of the items I didn't get the first time. I thought it was a nice touch to include a brief piece with some of the cast members after the credits. Much like Will, I thought the final showdown with Diavolo was a little too...quick. Getting past the thugs was tougher than finishing him off. I did, however, enjoy the game overall. From the voice acting to the score, it truely felt like a Bond film. The pre-title scene I enjoyed very much; reminded me of the pre-title from TND. I loved Bond's line when M mentions Diavolo's connection to Zorin: "Yes. We once played Bridge together, he lost." Obviously a reference to the Golden Gate Bridge battle scene from "A View to A Kill". Beautiful. I look forward to EA's next Bond game, even if I don't think its the right film (GoldenEye) to go after. Although I guess they wanted to go with a Brosnan film instead of one of the other movies first.

IZ feed and book for 2-24

Eskimo, you probably know this, but my segment is in GCF under 'Feb. 24 IZ'; I have a bunch of stuff in GCF so I just wanted to make sure you don't skip it by mistake.

IZ feed and book for 2-24

Eskimo has posted the show which will include PRL's stuff later. I liked what was written. Good to see AS make his long long awaited return to his house. IZ is hovering around no man's land but the AS/Tony feud as well as Eskimo's on going battle with Stephen will be the centerpiece of IZ as the road to AM continues. The well known characters can handle the load until we get more involvement, which is hopefully soon. BOOKING FOR NEXT WEEK - Send things to Mystery Eskimo by Tuesday afternoon. Tony promo and an update on AS What else?
