Normally I would go to our two main graphic designers -- Parka & Popick -- but Popick doesn't have much 'net access and I don't want to ask Parka for too much. I need two logos: BLOODY, BATTERED & BEATEN ANGLEPALOOZA If somebody could whip a little something up, that would be excellent. In case you need to know, BBB is next month; AP (one of our major events) is in January.

Zero Hour: WarGames -- aWo vs. team OAOAST
-
I can see that. The WCW title from 1991-1994 had a sleaker globe and the side plates had a globe with "WCW" above it. Add the "Eagle" design leather to the '86-'88 WWF title belt and you pretty much have the second WCW title. As for the U.S. title used at WrestleWar, it looked like an older version of the design Luger had that night. It wasn't the one used till 1997 or '98 (it was made bigger) that's for sure.

That would be Clash of the Champions XIV. If they put that in, they'd have to leave in the part where El Gigante (he's sitting ringside) is introuced and Flair stands right up to him all badass despite looking like a child next to the big man. A DVD devoted to the Sting/Flair rivally would rock as well; as would a 4 Horsemen DVD. Your other suggestions would be excellent as well. The Flair/Anderson cage match could be an extra if they use the Fall Brawl match. And I agree, Flair's WWF run should be further detailed.

On a Flair 2 DVD, and considering the time period jumped 2 years after every match with the exception of disc 3 ('91 to '94 to 2003), I would put the WrestleWar '91 WarGames match (Horsemen featuring Larry Z vs. Sting, Flyin' Brian & the Steiner Bros.) on there. You could save the first WarGames for a sequel to Bloodbath. I saw some lists in this thread about what matches they think could be on Flair 2, let me give mine, starting from 1988. 1988 Sting vs. Flair - Clash 1 Flair/Windham vs. the Midnight Express - Clash of the Champions 4 (I'd put this in over Flair/Luger at Starrcade because I don't think WWE would put two matches with the same guy on the DVD unless it was something special like Flair/Steamboat. 1990 Flyin' Brian vs. Ric Flair - World Championship Wrestling (Saturday Night before it was called that) Luger vs. Flair, Cage Match - Capital Combat 1990 Flair vs. Sting - Great American Bash Just to see how they would handle it, something with the Black Scorpion. 1991 WarGames: Horsemen featuring Larry Z vs. Sting, Pillman & Steiners 1993 Flair vs. Mr. Perfect - RAW Flair's return to WCW Flair & Arn Anderson vs. the Hollywood Blondes - Clash of the Champions (Just to get the "Flair for the Old" as an extra) That's all I have for now. You could also throw in Flair/Savage WM 8, Flair/Vader Starrcade '93, Flair & Steve Austin vs. Sting & Steamboat from Saturday Night in 1994. What you can do with a Flair 2 DVD is endless.

Supposedly McMahon didn't like the way it looked. Since it hasn't been done since maybe that's true. Add me to the list of a mark for the ramp, I always loved the way they looked. Too bad they took away space for the wrestlers, that's why WCW dropped them after it's brief comeback in 2000. I do wonder why they dropped it in 1994, however. The ramp was used for 4 years with the exception of a few events; then it was gone after Clash 27 (Flair/Sting on Flair DVD). I'd like to see it be used one more time. I also liked the way the NWA/WCW rings had two different color turnbuckles. Normally it would be black and blue -- at least the WCW rings were for a long time. As for the DVD, got it today, and it's awesome! I wonder how long it takes WWE HV to cook up another volume.

Just wondering, how is WCW SN Russo's fault? Yeah, he did a lot of things wrong, but his job was to work his "magic" with Nitro & Thunder, not SN. Jimmy Hart was the one booking SN at the end, and only Jeff Jarrett was the one with any "star power" willing to work the show. But he too stopped doing it once R&B came back. To this day I think WCW should of used SN as the second show insted of creating Thunder. I know most people are out Saturday, but I wonder how SN would of done under a business booming WCW with top angles on the show.

They changed the name of the show to "WCW Saturday Morning" before it got cancelled. Why they pulled it I don't know, but it was probably due to ratings; I believe towards the end the show was doing .6s and rarely hit 1.0 or better. Which is sad because for many years it was the mothership, as Dusty Rhodes would put it. And they never gave the show a send off (video package highlighting its history, etc), they just ended it like they'd be back next week.
-
You sure it was nominated? I know I made a (joking) reference -- I don't have a problem admitting it -- but I don't think I nominated it; I voted for a Zack Malibu feud. Unless somebody else actually did.

For me it's any WCW-WWF TV (Clash of the Champions, Countdown to WM, etc) or PPV event from 1992, I love going back and watching them now. SummerSlam 1989 is another one. Outside of the Hart Foundation-Brainbusters match, I believe that show is generally disliked. One thing I never understood was why WCW always clipped their PPV releases in the late '80s/early '90s. Bill Watts said in a WCW magazine interview years ago -- which is pretty much a shoot -- he didn't understand why that was done, and felt it was a rip off to the fans. He compared it to a movie studio editing a film leaving only 15 minutes. I want to say it was a bad habit kept from Jim Crockett Promotions, where their video releases were mostly matches from different venues an event took place at (EX: GAB '87 in Atlanta, Miami).

Dallas' offense was never great they just had a few games were they gained a bunch of yards and somehow gave the impression the offense was good. The Cowboys D has been their strong point thus far, they've kept them in all their games, and prevented a blow out in Tampa -- and Sunday night for that matter. They got burned a few times, which turned out to cost them, but that's expected when you blitz like they do. I see them going for a running back in the off-season, Hambrick isn't cutting it (nobody wanted to take him when Dallas tried to trade him) but he'll have to do for now. Hell, they need a verteran QB too, either as a starter or in case Carter struggles.

From what I've read there were only 2 teams Pip was intersted in -- the Bulls and the Spurs. The Bulls because he'd get a front office job with buddy John Paxton after he retires; the Spurs because they have a legit shot at winning -- or in their case repeating -- as NBA champions. Supposedly Pipen was thisclose to signing with the Spurs but the deal broked down after he wanted a 3 year deal -- the Spurs were only offering a 1 year contract. So he returned to da Bulls. Stephen Jackson's agent fucked him bad. The Spurs were offering $10 million but he declined. Pop believes Jackson's agent was playing games. Now "Action" Jackson is making less money and playing for a team with no shot at all.

Ever since Rose got that huge contract 2 years ago he's started the season slow. I fully expect him to pick it up soon. I do wish him and the Spurs could be faster starters but I'll take 'em getting hot after the All-Star break then getting hot now then getting cold when it counts. Rasho was rushing himself too much, especially when he got that rebound and missed a few lay ups. Believe it or not, I think he's trying too hard (to replace David Robinson). He did very well in the Lakers and Memphis game (before Duncan got hurt). At least his defense is getting better.
-
Gagne deserved it. Helluva season no doubt. If John Smoltz didn't get injured I believe he would of won. Yeah he blew a couple of saves but he's the closer for a contender, a lot more pressure IMO. He was also well on his way to breaking the single-season saves record before he went down.
-
Sure Dallas had a easy schedule in the first half of the season, but the fact he's doing it with almost all of last year's 5-11 team is what puts him over the top IMO. To me the only hard game the Cowboys have left is against NE & Philly, especially with them having to go on the road. Other than that I think everybody they have left is beatable.

MVP - Steve McNair (TEN) ROTY - Domminick Davis (HOU) Offensive Player of the Year - Priest Homles (KC) Defenisve Player of the Year - Ray Lewis (Ravens) Coach of the Year - Bill Parcells Parcells has done what nobody expected them to do this year -- turn the Cowboys around in his FIRST season as coach. People expected him to turn around the ship, but not this soon. And he's doing it mostly with Dave Campos' players. It doesn't matter if they finish 8-8 as long as their defense can keep them in the game like they've done in their 2 losses. Their offense is still iffy; sometimes they'll play good, other times not. I'm still not sold on Carter or Hambrick. But I think they can ride it out. With the NFC East -- and the entire conference for that matter -- being the way it is, I wouldn't be shocked if the 'Boys make the playoffs.

After doing a search on google, apparently that isn't true according to an article from yesterday. From Star Tribune... Does this should sound familiar? An all-sports channel launches, but many can't see it because the network is having trouble getting distribution. No, we're not talking about Victory Sports. That's last week's news. This time, it's the NFL Network, which debuted Tuesday on DirecTV and Voom -- a new satellite service. Like Victory, which will begin showing Twins games next spring and has only a few deals with small cable operators in the region, the NFL Network also has been unable to reach agreements with cable giants such as Time Warner and Comcast. Granted, the 11.9 million subscriber base of DirecTV isn't a bad place to start, but an extended period without cable deals won't sit well for long at the league's Park Avenue offices. NFL Networks President Steve Bornstein, the former head of ABC and ESPN, said he is in negotiations with every cable operator and satellite provider. So what does the NFL Network offer? Among the things Bornstein is trying to sell operators on is Video on Demand applications; some high definition programming, including a game of the week that is edited to an hour; never-before seen footage from the NFL Films archives; a college football show that will focus on pro prospects; fantasy football content; and "NFL Total Access," a weeknight program which will serve as the network's flagship show and be hosted by former ESPN "SportsCenter" anchor Rich Eisen. In addition to Eisen, the network's stable of talent includes former NFL coaches Mike Ditka and Marv Levy, and ex-players Sterling Sharpe, Ken Norton Jr. and Seth Joyner. Warren Sapp of the Buccaneers and Michael Strahan of the Giants also will have roles, and former ESPN personalities Charley Steiner and Bill Patrick are on board as hosts. The network will carry preseason games as well as NFL Europe contests, but not regular-season or playoff games. The league might see an opportunity to make a buck off this channel, but it knows better than to take money out of its own pockets by messing with the dollars Fox, CBS, ABC and ESPN are paying for the right to show games. Those networks have two seasons to go after this one of their current deals, and Bornstein said he does not anticipate the NFL Network being a player in the next round of negotiations. Bornstein remains confident, almost cocky, about the fact the venture will succeed. "We are dealing with a product that is unparalleled in this country," he said. "It is called NFL football. And it has an incredible following. It is the most popular programming on this planet. We believe that there is an opportunity to exploit that and to serve those people that are interested in this product on a seven-day-a-week business. And I think this is beyond any other sports league, it is beyond any other entertainment franchise." Only time will tell if the operators agree. © Copyright 2003 Star Tribune. All rights reserved.

I could of sworn Isiah Thomas broadcasted the Blazer/Cavs game on NBA TV the first week of the season. It sounded like him. And Raza might like to know Parker will probably play Monday against the Jazz - Duncan may as well. It'll also be David Robinson jersey retirement night.

A typical American reaction. That is all I have to say. Well, it's true. Countries who are well known for their sports should always win it (Canada is hockey, etc). That's why nobody in the U.S. really cares if we don't win the World Cup. We don't care about soccer (or football for our international fans with us). But like a previous poster said, you'd think the defending champs would have a spot locked. Does anybody know if there's ever been an U.S. baseball "Dream Team"? It seems to me they only let a few big leaguers in once and a while. If there's never been a baseball Dream Team, I'd like to see that happen at least once, before letting the kids back in. Not sure how many MLBers would want to do it, but add a bonus for those who play.

No. Warriors won 95-89. The Hornets should send the Spurs a gift basket. I saw the points the "Fab 4" put up and they were low.

I haven't seen the local news (live in SA) so I don't know what was said about Willis taking the last shot. But I honestly think that wasn't the played called; Willis shot the thing at his own free will, probably thinking he had little time left. IIRC, he may have had enough time to make one more pass. I shudder to think the kind of calls that will be made during the playoffs.
-
I assume you're talking about KEVIN WILLIS taking the 3. I question Kev's decision but they went double OT, and one loss doesn't hurt. As a Spurs fan, I appreciate their effort, including LA, even though they should of (and many people said they would) blown SA out of the water. This firms my belief the Westeren Con. Finals will be Spurs/Lakers. What a game!
-
What a game. The funny thing is even though the Spurs lost they got a morale victory. The Lakers were supposed to run all over the Spurs, without Duncan or Parker, but couldn't. I think this shows the Spurs are better than some people (coughESPNcough) give them credit for.
-
Parker is still questionable, at least from what I've heard on TV. Unless he's 100% I doubt Pop will play him just because their opponents happen to be the team the media is creaming over. I'm not expecting a Spurs win, but I'll laugh my ass off if the Lakers lose to a team who haven't found their stride yet.
-
True. However, the Spurs have always been built on defense. Last year's NBA finals was a perfect example; the games were ugly as fuck, but those are the type of games the Spurs are good at. They're like a python: they wrap themselves around you and squeeze the life outta you. It sucks Duncan will be out 1-3 weeks but if you're going to get hurt (you never want that to happen) might as well do it at the start of the season so you can return before the playoffs, and we're a LONG way from that. Plus, Pop is damn good at making sure he doesn't rush anybody back, he knows its still early. The Spurs announcers have hammered this point home a lot recently, but it's true: championships aren't won in the first week. The way the West is loaded with all these superpowers, as long as you have a playoff spot you have a chance to win it all. And there are going to be at least 4 great teams who will have to get it on with each other in the first round to advance.
