I thought the Yankees were finish. But damn, just like the Cubs the Sox needed 5 outs and they couldn't get it done. I'm glad the Yankees won -- I didn't want to see Perdo or Manny anywhere near the WS. This year I've found myself rooting for the Yankees after so many years rooting against them.
-
Florida deserved it. A lot of teams would of called it after being down 3-1. I feel sorry for the Cubs though. MLB playoffs is the hardest post season in sports IMO. They may never get another golden shot like they had this year.
-
Marlins win. Unbelieveable. The Cubs and their fans must feel like shit after what happened.
-
I like the way they've gone after Simon so far -- off speed pitches.
-
Well the Cubs have a runner on base. They need 2 more now.
-
I have to agree with that statement. Then again, maybe because I was rooting for the Braves, Cubs & Marlins, I don't really feel as much pain seeing them lose. The teams I wanted to see win all had to beat each other. The Cubs fucked themselves. They had 3 shots at getting the done job and they couldn't. They still have 3 outs to play with so maybe they'll pull off a comeback.

Sosa's strikeout may have been the final nail in the coffin. He needed to get on base at least to keep the crowd alive.
-
This is it...FL is now in the same position the Cubs were in last night -- need 5 more outs. Sosa just K'd. They've gotten closer than the Cubs did. Now they gotta finish it off. Wow.
-
If Florida doesn't score in the top of the 8th, it'll be interesting to see how they handle the bottom of the inning, considering they will have a 3 run lead just like the Cubs did last night.
-
If I'm FL I'm feeling good about my chances, their bullpen has pitched pretty well this post season. The way Beckett's pitching, the Cubs may never get one last shot.
-
Baker is finally taking out Wood. What a moral boast it must be for Florida to survive against Prior & Wood, two pitchers who were supposed to be untouchable.
-
Yeah, that'll sell to the masses. I know a Marlins vs. Red Sox series won't be as interesting if the Cubs aren't involved, but FOX needs something to build a possible Marlins vs. whomever WS. This wouldn't be the first time in the 2003 professional sports playoffs the network didn't get a "golden boy" in the finals (the NBA especially).
-
The Marlins are somethin'. IF they somehow manage to pull this off (and its still too early), they would of deserved it. Pudge is a machine. I believe Choken One said they is a game where you probably don't want the lead, man, is he right -- especially for each teams' fans.

The pitcher helps himself. Game tied 3-3.

IIRC, that segment beat whatever WWE had going on at that time. That's what I remember reading but I may be wrong. This DVD sounds awesome though. Can't wait.

That is what I would fear if I were a Cubs fan. I think Wood will start overthrowing, getting into trouble. If he does, Florida better have the bats, or should I say axe ready, to chop Wood (A horrible pun, I know). I would love to see the Cubbies win, but I wouldn't be upset if the Marlins won -- they would of made a helluva comeback. The 3 teams I was rooting for this year were the Braves (who proceed to showcase their skills), Cubs & Marlins. 2 of the 3 are still in it. Although I find myself rooting for the Yankees, but I think its because they're playing Boston.

Maybe the ump thought since Alou jumped he figured the ball was out of play. To me the ball was out of play then started drifting back, before the hand and glove meant.

I give it a solid 7. The formatting of the show went off course a couple of times, but that's due to habit than anything else. I liked the Black/Calvin segment, as well as the return of Gary Michael Cappetta. Plus the OLD SCHOOL(!) challenger pins champion as "ref" -- Stephen in this case -- makes the count.

I've only read one page thus far, but it looks like people are split about the fan getting in the way. Personally I don't blame the guy; it wasn't his fault, Prior could of still gotten the batter out, but that's the way things go. Things ended up playing in favor of the Marlins. This could turn into another Red Sox/Mets World Series game. Even though the ball went between Buckner's legs, the Sox still had a chance to win game 7. Cubs still have a shot. Remember, the better team is supposed to win. If I'm a Cubs fan I wouldn't be going into game 7 on a high because Wood is pitching. If the Marlins can keep it close like tonight, they'll have a shot. Redman has been very solid so far. MLB has had one helluva playoff season.

IZers, your commentators are JR & Jesse "The Body" Ventura. Yes, Jesse is being used as a PPV-only commentator know. Just wanna let you know so you can write him in.

Finally the show is up. The effort was there, lets see how you'll react. Read it, then rate it. LPYC will post the show next week.

The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection DVD Cover...
Tony149 replied to Steviekick's topic in The WWE Folder
The old school block logo was on the turnbuckle pads, but WWE is able to show that footage. Anything pre-"Attitude" logo is okay. I think they can show the "Attitude" logo in North America, its when its shown overseas problems arise. Vince probably doesn't want to bother getting into further shit by using the logo on footage. -
Hogan might not be a draw, but TV execs still know who he is -- nobody said TV execs were smart. I think if the Jarretts go to a network and they (the network) ask: "Who do you have?" and the Jarretts reply "Hulk Hogan", that could go a long way into getting them a deal. It may sound bad to some fans (and I'm no Hogan fan), but the risk is worth a shot. I'd rather see TNA attempt a huge risk instead of playing it by the numbers.

That's not a bad idea, actually. I agree. I'm for it. Let's start next week.

Both shows delivered the goods this week. I really enjoyed Calvin's backstage speech. Nice to see both brands have a great sense of pride in their product. IMO the next step is split PPVs, for a one-time deal only that is.
