    2006 NFL Off-Season

I love WEEI, it’s like listening to a never ending funeral speech. We still have the Belichick apologists calling in spouting their in Bill we trust crap, but I don’t understand what the hell, Bill, Pioli, and the Krafts are doing this off season. Of course we have the fun people with "connections" who now want to discredit Vinatieri. Some guy called in to say that his friend goes to the same chiropractor and that Vinatieri's back is beyond repair. You really have to love Boston talk radio sometimes.

    Best comic artis ever.

I've always liked Curt Swan's stuff on Superman. It seems that many people on the internet charge him with being bland, but he produced the definitive Superman in my mind. Most of my other favorites are usually tied to their DC work including Neal Adams, Jim Aparo, Irv Novick, Howard Porter, Ed McGuinness, Dan Jurgens, Norm Breyfogle and Graham Nolan.

What is your most valuable comic worth?

I have two that come to mind that may be worth a bit. Amazing Spider-Man #39 - Green Goblin revealed as Norman Osborn and he finds out that Spidey is Peter Parker. Batman #232 - 1st Ra's Al Ghul

Phantasm Sphere : The Complete Collection

Getting a region free player is easy enough, but what about the PAL-NTSC issue? Will a region free player be able to give the correct signal on an NTSC TV?

Comic book ner...fans...help me out here.

For the Scarecrow there is a trade titled Scarecrow Tales, which has a bunch of stories from his debut to now. As for Ra's, when looking at the Batman books during the time of his creation it wouldn't seem that far fetched for a character such as him. In comparison to how the various rogues have been changed over time with much deeper psychological underpinnings, Ra's may seem out of place, but it still works in the larger scope of it happening in the DCU. I'd suggest the Tales of the Demon trade for Ra's stories. It gives a good selection of the early Ra's stories and is much friendlier to your wallet than the Adams hardcover volumes.

    Best Alan Moore story

I voted for Watchmen. There's nothing much else to say about the series, it's just a great read. As for the Killing Joke, it has to be one of the most overrated pieces of garbage around IMHO. The throwing away of Batgirl was a disappointment to me. I'm not sure if this was Moore's call or if it came from the editor who would have been Denny O'Neil at the time. I also really hate the end; it just doesn't seem like something that Batman would end up doing after the ordeal he'd been through. I liked the fact that some writer brought this up in an issue of Batman Chronicles in mid-90s using Barbara to call Bruce on the end of the Killing Joke, of course he had no answer, because it made no damn sense.

    Rumored Bret Hart DVD Matches

Hart wants a different Tiger Mask match on his DVD. Availability is unknown last I heard. Yokozuna's underrated. Everybody has to check out the Hart vs Yokozuna steel cage match from MSG. Hart and Yokozuna tear the house down. One of Bret Hart's best preformances. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've seen the match from the early 80s on a Tiger Mask DVD I bought from Japan. It wasn't that great, but not bad either. The other match against a Tiger Mask must be referring to his match with TM II-Mitsuharu Misawa from 1990 TD show. I believe they would have to negotiate with NTV, who own All Japan's footage pre-split.

    Cover for Infinite Crisis #1

He's the new Captain Boomerang hanging out with the rest of the rogues in the Flash's book.
  10. Did Hogan switch to that one after breifly wearing this one: http://img52.exs.cx/img52/4728/hoganfirstwin9mf.jpg ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There was also this belt in between.

Is there a team so hated by its own league

Hal Gill shakes the devil's hand. Jeremy Jacobs is a cancer to Boston hockey. I really do have to admire the balls he has when he gives interviews talking as if the Bruins were a ship bleeding for money. Of course in truth the B's have been one of the most profitable teams over the past few years. The reason for this of course is the astronomical prices of the tix as the Fleet, excuse me TD Banknorth Garden. They may play to a 3/4 to 1/2 full arena, but it's fine because of the price the people in attendance paid. As an added bonus to Jacobs the bargain teams he put on the ice over the years made the playoffs giving him extra money to not put back into the team. 2004 of course was a little different as he went all out to try for the cup, but his money spent was for naught. Anyway that ends my rant on Jacobs.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I'm hoping for DiBiase to be in this game. It'd be great if they'd put in an old school Billy Graham too. I think the legends that appear in the game are all tied into the contracts that Jakks who is partnered with THQ have set up. So the possibilities could include the following Billy Graham Bret Hart Jim Neidhart Marty Jannetty Big John Studd Mick Foley and his various incarnations Hulk Hogan King Kong Bundy Terry Funk Paul Orndorff Iron Sheik Nikolai Volkoff Davey Boy Smith Andre Ultimate Warrior Jimmy Hart Gorilla Monsoon Don Muraco Earthquake One Man Gang Tito Santana LOD Bobby Heenan Koko B. Ware Doink Jake Roberts Jimmy Snuka Roddy Piper Yokozuna Jim Duggan Junk Yard Dog Brutus Beefcake Sgt. Slaughter George Steele Hillbilly Jim Bushwhackers Wild Samoans Bob Orton Vader Paul Bearer Obviously appearances would have to be cleared by WWE making some much less likely to appear. It would be cool if they could just release a game with just the classics, but that’s a pipedream as far as a WWE licensed version.

    Actors/Actresses

Anytime I see James Gandolfini pop up in a movie it will always be Tony Soprano for me. Then again this doesn't just go for Gandolfini, I associate most of the cast with their characters on the show when I see them on other shows.

    Twilight Zone

I didn't catch the marathon this year, but have the whole series on DVD. My current favorite is The Grave, but that's always changing. Has anyone picked up the new DVD sets? I'd like to know if the "remastered" picture is really worth it.

Best house show you've been to?

My first show and still my favorite house show. This makes me remember back in the day when Portland was one of their favorite stops, now we're lucky to get one show a year. WWF @ Portland, ME - Civic Center - November 1, 1987 (8,686) Lanny Poffo pinned Jose Estrada Frenchy Martin pinned Siva Afi Jake Roberts pinned Sika Davey Boy Smith & the Dynamite Kid defeated Boris Zhukov & Nikolai Volkoff Jim Duggan fought King Harley Race to a double count-out Paul Orndorff defeated Rick Rude via disqualification WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan pinned the One Man Gang

Greatest WWF stars of 80's DVD out

I may be wrong, but I think Hogan-Andre has only been featured once as part of Hogan's DVD. From what I've heard Randy Savage's existance could be acknowledged if he wasn't overly greedy and would sign the royalties package that they're giving out to the "legends". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So in other words, he should just accept the lowly pay Vince wants to give him and be treated like Piper's last stint. I agree he is being greedy, but if he knows Vince is going to try to get him back, he might as well get into his pockets. I mean he got even Hogan with the Mr. America nonsense and the line of ...."everytime you try to do something on your own you fall on your red and yellow ass" or something like that on a smackdown show post Mania 18. Savage might be the smart one here. Vince would make some coin with a Savage DVD though. Savage is not overexposed like the other legends since we haven't seen him in years. I think Bret and Savage are the last two money guys. We aren't seeing too much Bret Hart stuff either. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, Vince would make some coin, but Savage is also missing out on a chunk of the pie by sitting out. If Savage has some delusions about his own worth I suppose that's his problem he's missing out. As for Bret Hart, I think he has some kind of deal in place since Jakks has been pumping out plenty of figures of him in their Classic line. I'm sure a Bret DVD will come much sooner than later.

    Turning WCW around in 2000.

I would guess it was because of limited release. Video rental places would pay that, but for normal consumers it was too much. Coliseum videos were priced in this range $40-60, until the WWF switched over to the WWF Home Video label.

    Turning WCW around in 2000.

II don't know if anyone would know this, but was DVD within their sights by 2000? These people were sitting on the old NWA catalog and some of the decent stuff that WCW had produced during their hot period. I would think that this would have sold well. Then again, tapes of their PPVs were sold for close to $60 bucks on Amazon right up to their death while the WWF had the much friendlier $15-$20 range. Huge merchandising miscue in my opinion.

AQUAMAN #31 $2.50 BATMAN VILLIANS SECRET FILES 2005 $4.99 DETECTIVE COMICS #807 $2.99 FIRESTORM #14 $2.50 JSA #74 $2.50 SUPERMAN BATMAN #20 $2.99 A pretty light week for me. I was somewhat disappointed when my LCS closed earlier this year. However preordering has allowed me to become a bigger DC zombie with the discounts. The SF books are usually fluff, but for $2.50 what the hell I suppose.

    More bad news

This sucks. So much for seeing the Avalanche anymore. Here in southern Maine I'm left with seeing the Canadiens on the French station (useless to me for the 9 years since the Nords packed up) or I can watch the Bruins on NESN. I suppose Time Warner will get more of my money for their extended sports pack so I can get Fox Sports Rocky Mountain.
