  1. I really like "Measure of a Man" from the Rocky V soundtrack. Really works well over that montage in the credits. I also kind of like the stuff from the Lion King. Those are some nice pop hits. Actually I don't think Taupin had anything to do with either of those. I also like "Funeral for a Friend". But not "Love Lies Bleeding." Just the first minute or so.
  2. Something tells me that when Ralph loses this election to Obama he won't complain that he "felt like a nigger" like he did last time.

    Good fortune?
  4. What exactly is your job, EHME? Please don't say "sonnin' fags."
  5. Well I think this just jumped onto Barron's must-see list!
  6. I'm sure its not THE Axl.
  7. I'll make the "don't tase me bro" reference before anyone else with ulterior motives does.
  8. That logic isn't as fallacious as you might think.
  9. That dude totally ripped off Prussian Blue's t-shirts! FOR SHAME!
  10. Media Takeout has been wrong before, like when they revealed the shocking news that Beyonce was really 32.
  11. His number is in every issue of the Observer.
  12. It's gotta be a joke...who'd be stupid enough to use their work phone for something like that? That wasn't a joke, she's really that serious about people leaking information. (I wonder who leaked that particular piece of info to Dave)
  13. I should've known people would complain. OBSERVER NOTES ARE SERIOUS FUCKING BUSINESS
  14. APF was a freakin' dumb idea to begin with. Well, not the game itself, but the idea that it could make money. It must have cost an absurd amount of money to license all of those players individually, and they were up against the juggernaut of sports games in Madden. The only time they were ever successful against Madden was when they sold NFL 2K5 for $19.99, and All Pro was 60 bucks just like every game, which it had to be because the cost of licensing must have been so high, but.....bad idea.
  15. There are very weak rumors that UFC might be for sale. And in the very small chance of UFC being sold, there has been very small talk that WWE could be interested in buying it. WWE has recently started doing more research on the MMA industry though. Shane has been big on WWE getting into MMA for a long time, but Stephanie and HHH are dead-set against it because they don't know or care about it at all. And Vince barely does either. Dave Lagana was apparently released for something other than leaking info. Meltzer says that "most weren't willing to talk" about what Lagana was doing but apparently it was kind of serious since many wrestlers complained about it and one even complained to the Undertaker. Of course since "most" won't talk about it that means at least some will which means in all likelihood Meltzer knows what it was so WHY WON'T HE TELL US? Dudes pay a hundred ollars a year for this shit but "The New York Times of wrestling" just sits on hot newz like that. LAME Also Stephanie is really paranoid about people leaking info to what Damian Demento would call "the kayfabe sheets" so after the holidays she had everyone's cell phone records checked to see if anyone had called Meltzer. The ECW creative team is now led by Michael Hayes with help from Dusty and Ed Koskey. Dusty didn't want to be the head writer since he's old and didn't want that much work and/or pressure. Non-Observer note: You know what's a good song? "Loving You's a Dirty Job (But Somebody's Got To Do It)" by Bonnie Tyler and Todd Rundgren. The U.K.'s The Sun says that it will be Michaels vs Flair at Mania, which is the favorite right now. Vince is still unsure about it since it doesn't elevate anyone. Jericho got offered another book deal. He hasn't signed it yet. Hall of Fame news: Mae Young is probable. Gordon Solie is possible. If the Rock can be there WWE thinks he'll come to induct his daddy and grandpappy. Mania has sold around 57000 tickets so far. So if you want to go, you still can! As I always say: Don't just say thanks, comment on the news. If you want to subscribe, which you should, go to wrestlingobserver.com I like fish sticks

  17. I LOVE shitty hair metal but I've never liked Kiss. I don't know if there's one song I'd say I like by them. In fact, my favorite is probably that ballad they wrote with Bolton and I wouldn't even say I like it. It's just OK, but that's better than most of their output. Their music isn't melodic enough, it's all riffs.
  18. That I've ever heard. You'd be shocked if you knew how limited my musical horizons are. I just downloaded Sweet Sensation's 1990 hit single "If Wishes Came True." You think I have time for Sufjan Stevens and his album-about-a-state du jour? Plus I hate the idea of the concept album in general. Besides, I didn't say it was the BEST ever. At least not in terms of the music itself. Just the first that didn't strike me as self-indulgent buttfuckery. I didn't realize the gravity of that statement when I wrote it, but I'm sure it will incur the wrath of Czech and Inc and others. I don't care! I'm like Pat Spoon circa fall '06, I'm taking the populist stance. Nickelback isn't the best band on earth? Well why did they sell 6 million copies of their last album, then? HUH?
  19. Operation: Mindcrime is great. It's the only concept album I've ever heard that I didn't think was a bunch of pretentious masturbation. Plus I like how all the songs sound the same, but they're not.

Czech, bros love the hell out of Tom Petty, they'll discover him without any government help.

  22. Oh and to expand on this, the newest F4W newsletter reports that JBL was recently on Opie and Anthony to promote the MamaJuana drink, which he referred to as "boner juice". So they had a bunch of dudes test it out and it didn't work. Ha ha. Also, it's 43 bucks for a 12-pack.
  23. Rumble match evaluations based on the antiquated method of star ratings: Flair-MVP: ** Jericho-JBL: *1/2 Edge-Rey: ***1/4 Orton-Hardy: *** Rumble: **** Dave says the WM main event will mostly be Cena-HHH. HHH would rather wrestle Cena than Orton at the show and Michael Hayes, who of course is best known as Dok Hendrix (named after his favorite musical acts, Dokken and Jimi Hendrix), wants to do a boxing-like "HHH-Cena II"-type promotion for the match. John Laurinaitis has been getting heat recently because of so top stars, such as Lashley, leaving the company under bad terms, but his job isn't in danger because there's no one in line to replace him. Lashley, in addition to being upset with his quarter-of-a-million-dollars Wrestlemania payoff, had disagreements with the aforementioned Mr. Hayes. And of course the Kristal Marshall firing may have had something to do with it. Michael Buffer in WCW was seen as being "aloof". So Jerry Lawler tried to talk to him backstage at the Rumble and apparently felt the same way. Too bad. Candice should be back soon. She's booked on house shows as early as the 11th. I guess that means she could be on Raw on Monday. (No, dumbass, Raw is taped this week.) Oh sorry. I guess that means she could be on Raw NEXT Monday! But Dave didn't say that. It's just an educated guess. Dave spends almost an entire page-length summarizing two recent RVD interviews. Hey Dave, if we wanted to know what RVD said in those interviews we'd read them ourselves. JBL apparently has an energy drink coming out called "MamaJuana Energy" which "will be marketed as an herbal aphrodisiac". DIRTY Whenever Dave reports on the fans chanting "Cena sucks," he spells it "sux." Carlito's brother Eddie Colon starts in FCW this week. A beloved ex-WWE superstar is is negotiations to return. I won't tell you who he is, but he's a giant muscular Australian who appeared in "Troy". That oughta narrow it down. Don't just say thanks, comment on the news. You really should order the newsletter. Wrestlingobserver.com for details.
  24. If people are stupid enough to give them money, you can't blame them for taking it.
  25. I have seen "The Suite Life" and it is in my humble opinion the worst show on television, and is bad even by the standards of shitty kids' programs. I don't want to discuss this much further because I have a feeling it will draw VX in to regale us with stories of knowing Ashley Tisdale but I felt I had to make my opinion known.
