Lesnar extends his hand to Inoki

NJPW suffers from poor booking. NOAH is hot on their heels in terms of who the biggest company is, and Brock Lesnar in NOAH would be FAR better than him being in NJPW. Lesnar could be the next AJPW-like gaijin monster draw for NOAH, and someone for Kobashi to drop the GHC to for a while until they build up the next ace (seemingly Takeshi Rikio, but that's doubtful). NOAH could use Lesnar more than NJPW.

Interesting matches we've never seen/heard about

Harley Race/Stan Hansen vs. The Road Warrios- AWA 9/2/85 One of the greatest tags of that decade, and BY FAR the Road Warriors' best match. Race and Hansen were brilliant in it.

    Austin/Michaels in 1997

After KOTR 1997, there weren't any plans for Austin to face Michaels any time soon, since they wanted to build up Austin to face Bret at 'Mania 14, but then Montreal happened, and it ended up with Michaels.
  4. Many, many recent stars such as Steve Austin say that Ricky's the greatest wrestler they've ever fought or seen. He gets more than his fair due. He was one of the U.S.'s best workers in the late eightees and early ninetees. I'd put maybe Barry Windham ahead of him during this time period. If anything, Barry Windham doesn't get nearly enough praise.

    Best Wrestling Quotes...

From Harley Race's book: "Pain is temporary. Pride is forever."

Flair to the WWF in 1991

Vince paid Harley Race very well during Race's WWF stint. Vince was somewhat bitter when Race declined a $250,000 signing bonus to no-show Starrcade 1983 and head over to the WWF with the NWA Title, and there's no way Vince would've put Harley Race, an aging NWA star, over his golden-boy Hogan. Guys like Race, Flair, etc. didn't get "treated" well because they didn't fit in with what the WWF was all about.

Things that were supposed to happen but didn't

Harley Race was offered $250,000 by Vince Jr. to no-show Starrcade and go northeast, but Race refused, in a bathroom with Vince.

    Fans cheering the heels

If you really want to go old-school, when Harley Race won the NWA Title from Terry Funk in Toronto, Funk was supposed to be the face, yet when Race had him tap to the Figure Four and won, the crowd went apeshit for Race (who was considered a heel for the most part, except when wrestling in the Central Territory).

    Best WrestleMania WWF Title Match?

Austin/Rock, very easily. The best storytelling I've ever seen in a WWE ring. Comparable to the AJPW King Road type of storytelling in the ninetees.

Top 5 Biggest Wrestling Pops of all Time

    1. Steve Austin winning the WWF Title for the second time on Raw after KOTR 98 (Over Kane, and subsequently stunning Undertaker. Insane pop) 2. Steve Austin's arrival during the Rock/Mankind match in Dec 98 3. Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant 4. The Ultimate Warrior defeating Hogan in the Skydome 5. Steve Austin defeating Shawn Michaels in the Fleet Center for his first WWF Title

    Madison Square Garden

People should try and find Harley Race vs. Bob Backlund from 9/22/80. It's absolutely fantastic.

    Best on the stick

Jericho is probably one of the most overrated wrestlers around, especially on the 'net.

    Best on the stick

Am I the only one who finds Foley massively overrated, both on the stick and in the ring?

    1990 WWF Stone Cold?

Or maybe in 1996, when it was the perfect timing for his character.

    Kobashi or Kawada....

Kobashi has had an awesome year, so I'll easily say Kenta is better as of right now, though Kawada/Hashimoto was good. Kawada has been getting crap all year (Mick Foley anyone?). Kobashi/Akiyama stands as my MOTY, and will be until I see something that tops it. I'm also interested in seeing Kobashi/Taue, but Taue's really dropped off, and I don't like hearing Taue marks saying he's better than Kobashi right now.

Best of the Von Erichs DVD

None of the Von Erich's interested me. Kerry had two good matches in 1984. One of them was against Flair where he won the NWA Title, and the other was against Jumbo Tsuruta on 5/22 (and it doesn't touch Race/Flair on the same night).

    Best Cackle

It's not even close. Ted DiBiase takes this away, with time to spare. Probably the best heel of the late eightees.

    Most Underrated WWE Wrestler?

Sean Morely The Big Show A-Train Randy Orton Jamie Knoble (my favorite cruiser)

    bret vs austin

Probably the WWF's greatest feud of all time. That's what happens when Vince lets two of his best workers cut loose. Austin's rise to immortality and Bret's degeneration into heelness is such a great spectacle to watch. You could truly feel some hatred. If the Montreal episode didn't happen, the blowoff was supposed to be Bret vs. Austin at WM 14, in an Iron Man match (read the plans for Bret after SS in one of his articles)! Bret was supposed to beat Shawn at RR 98, Austin would win the Rumble, and at the Feb ppv, Bret was supposed to put his career on the line, but only lose by DQ (I believe), and then the Austin/Hart feud would resume, to conclude at WM 14 when Bret passes the torch.

    Who does better promos?

People tend to confuse 2002 with 2001.

Former WCW star Kimberly in a DC Comics Movie

Why are they making a Robin movie? How dumb.

    NWA

Loss, if you go to wrestletapes.net, you'll find the Harley Race/Ricky Steamboat encounter. I suggest to get both Race compilations, because he's one of the most underlooked legends throughout the 'net.
  23. Austin3164life

    Who does better promos?

Steve Austin's stick in 2001 is better than what most guys have ever said on the mic. I vote Austin, although a very close second is Foley. The Rock is highly overrated, merely good at insulting someone, and Michaels is bland and boring.

    Best Tag match Tournament

    Harley Race/Stan Hansen vs. The Road Warriors- 9/2/85 Harley Race/Stan Hansen vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/Shohei Baba- 10/81? Steve Austin/Larry Zbyszko vs. Barry Windham/Dustin Rhodes- Superbrawl 1992 Misawa/Kobashi vs. Kawada/Taue- 6/9/95 Misawa/Akiyama vs. Kawada/Taue- 12/6/96 Harley Race/Bill Irwin/Scott Irwin vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/Genichiro Tenryu/Shohei Baba- 9/28/85 Stan Hansen/Ted DiBiase vs. Genichiro Tenryu/Jumbo Tsuruta- 7/19/86

    FREE PURO MATCHES!! download here!

Baba/Brisco was great, both 11/4 and 11/9. Out of all their matches, I liked Misawa/Kobashi 3/31/96 and 1/20/97.
